High School

So it's current events subjects and such. I don't have anything like that. But if it's Religious Education, why does it focus on stuff like that? Is it because they believe there are religious views on those things?

A typical question on the exam would be something like : Name 2 religions and state what their views are on abortion. Do you agree or disagree with it and why.

Never had to quote religious texts or anything. It's pretty easy if you follow the news and use your common sense.

EDIT: 1000 post, that was nothing special.

Got a geography exam tomorrow, counts for a third of a GCSE, haven't revised yet... Ah well, it's all pretty easy anyway

@Naveek: You shouldn't technically have to go in on the 28th to get your report card. At our school, in Ontario mind you, they have a day where you can pick up your report, if you don't go, they mail your report card to you.

They used to give them to you, then they realized everyone burned them so they started mailing them. We still intercept them lol

Yeah, but mine also contains some English work I want, and it'll get junked if I don't get it. And it's not a problem for me, it's only half an hour then.

Also, we're gonna clean our lockers and hand back the locks on Friday. But I cleaned out my locker on Monday. I emptied mine earlier than first!

Last day of Grade 10 tomorrow. Should be a pointless day, since people are too busy signing yearbooks and whatnot. I'm actually looking forward to school tomorrow. Never thought I'd say that. :D

I don't really care about being forward to it, it's just a way to lose 7 hours of a normal day. Also, you have your final day tomorrow? So do I. Tomorrow is a half day, full day for me. Half day of school, carnival for the rest of the day. We need half a day and no more, but it can be a full day if we stay for the carnival.

Well, summer is here. I'm dreading going back to school even more now that since my District is a bunch of two year olds, they designed it so where every one from the three middle schools gets funneled into one school. That means three lunches, and about a 10% chance that I'll get to be with my friends at all.

But that's not the worse part. The worse part is, knowing the universe, I'll end up having no classes with my girlfriend, and I'll probably never see her. Why? Because, the school district, being so football centric as it is, screws over the kids who actually do well in school, while the football halfwits who do steroids to get good, get all the classes with their friends. While kids like my friends, my girlfriend, and I, as well as all the other kids in the school who could give a damn about sports, get screwed over, picked on, and otherwise have a terrible year after Middle School.

DAyum. I'm sorta excited for sophomore year!!

I never thought I'd make it that far to be honest. I remember my Sophomore year, that was one messed up year for me. In fact, I think I had registered to GTP going into that year.

2 weeks at school till work experience for another 2 weeks. Then the last week which won't actually involve any work so I've really just got 2 weeks left :dopey:

Today I will begin my summer homework by taking noted in the first five chapters it 104 pages if a text book called 'The American Pageant'. Of course I won't finish today but I will get a large amount done hopefully.

School's over! :D

Time for two provincials, and then summer school!

Summer school? Failed a class?

Anyways, I have 3 and a half days left of normal classes left, then I have half a day off.

Then 2 exams back to back. On a Friday. :ouch: [Mathematics (Functions) and Grade 12 Accounting]

After that it's an English exam on Monday, I have to get a booster shot after at the Doctor, then I have to type a Marketing exam on Tuesday. After that, grade 11 is finally 🤬 done!

EDIT:

Just got my final Accounting assignment done, it's as if all the weight has been taken off my shoulders. Just have to finish my English essay tonight, and then it's study for the rest of the week. 1200 word essay in one night? I can do that.

Nope.

In the olden days you went to summer school because you did something stupid in class. Nowadays, you go to summer school because you're anticipating that you're going to do something stupid in class.

@1241penguin: What the 🤬 did I just read?. If you're that unconfident just get a tutor like I have. I'll spend 1 hour a week just to keep up with what I've learned.

It's not that. I'm going to guess that over 85% of students in my school district go to a summer school, so if they do fail or get a low mark in summer school, they can make it up in regular school. Getting high marks is pretty crucial for increasing chances of getting into university here.

Doing trig in Maths now, I'm surprised how easy it is. Mind you we started this week so it can only get harder but I got the jist real easy.

I found it easy as we were doing it in class but found it hard on the exam today. Unit 3, did pretty bad I think :( Pretty much everything I revised in detail didn't come up and everything I didn't revise did come up.

Oh well school is over for me now, feels somewhat surreal to be honest.
