EG and EK are chassis/model codes I believe. If you look at the VIN there should be a JDM (if your car was built in Japan) and a chassis code for your car, which I believe is where you'll find that letter combination. Correct me if i'm wrong though, but thats my understanding.
@Sp33 - Basically it uses your trunk as a bass reflex (think of a bass reflex sub box) which bounces the bass off the back of your trunk and into the car. With your sub turned the way it is, its trying to push the air in your car instead of your trunk, meaning you hear less bass. Also, if your sub was turned around, and you had your back seat down, the room around the sub box would act as a port (like the port on a bass reflux sub box) making it sound even louder. You might lose 3/4 of your boot (I think you mean trunk
) but you gain so much more sound, plus theres also the chance of your sub hitting off your back seat, which could ruin the cone.
Good idea with bracket to hold it in place. I use to have my two 12's just sitting in the back till I found it almost at the front of my trunk after a night of cruising, so I basically did the same thing as you. Then I built my amp rack, and now I have my 2 amps and cap holding the box in place.
EDIT: Woah, heres something that made my jaw drop...
