This is my Civic:

I bought an EG half size radiator:

I put it in the car:

It didn't fit:

dsc002307rt.jpg

So I'm going to cut that dented yellow/white bar along the bottom, fabricate my own traction bar

So that a turbo can go here:

Hey cool Taurine, looks like the Civic is progressing nicely. Have you had it up and running properly yet or are you still fixing little problems with it? Been to Meremere?

Nice to see it comin along taurine 👍

That NSx one the previous page was several kinds of hotness. I wonder if i could lend him muh civic for a week >.>

Welcome to our 19th member: Master_Yoda.

w00t... I've always loved Hondas.. still do, my dad owns one.. and all i can say is.. I LOVE RIDING IN IT :) And for a FF car... it's pretty damn fast. I've in Porsches and stuff... But I like the speed of a Honda... The roar of V-tec... RAWR!! I love it.

The fun part is, my dad is a fast driver, so out on the free way, were riding along in are Accord, and were moving at 75mph... and pull up behind a Porsche... You know my dad does? Honks the horn, yells your goign to slow, this is the fast lane, and goes aorund him.. I loved it

Yeah everythings running sweet, haven't taken it to Meremere yet because I mean 14 second quarter mile passes are on the boring side of things...

Eh, going to wait until it's turboed and tuned before taking onto the strip then?

What are your plans for it modification-wise? Go for a fairly small turbo and keep the stock internals, go big turbo and forged goodies everywhere or go for a B18C?

Revheadnz
go big turbo and forged goodies everywhere

He will probably go big turbo with stock internals, blow it up, then rebuild forged internals big turbo. :P

Heh, awesome. I wonder how long it'll last.

And Taurine, what sort of turbo set up are you planning on?

GT35/40 at this stage. I'll make the manifold myself, get a 'vmount' intercooler to minimise intercooler piping, Hondata S300 ecu, lock the diff and run some nice big slicks.

I'll max out the map sensor first (11psi) and see how it goes, if it survives dyno tuning then it'll go on the track. Depending on how that goes I'll then drop in a 3 bar map sensor and wind the ****er up until I run a 10 second pass.

Then of course a built motor will be ready but I'd like to see how far I can take the standard motor.

Hmm so I was right. :)

Very cool indeed, one might even go so far as to say fully sick.

Is this all going to happen anytime soon or are you still building up funds? Cause I'd imagine all this kit isn't going to be cheap...

Hopefully the beginning of next year sometime, before the 06/07 season ends.

I know people man, I can get the mean hookups :sly:

Doesn't one of the top NZ Honda racers work at Heat Treatments? Are you getting some hints?

hmmmm VTEC + Turbo = Insanity

very nice little package you will have there Taurine, perfect little track car. What plans have you got for the suspension setup on there? if you have all ready said so dont have a go at me, Im just too lazy to look through this now 975 POST thread.

oh and that NSX on the previous page is now my new wallpaper, pur hotness right there.

as for the S2000, it might be all right if you remove the oversized bodykit that ruins the lines of the car, the huge ass rear spoiler, those fugly mags, the two fartcans poking out the back along with that numberplate that says 'veilside'

Taurine: your civic looks good:)
How much power are you aiming for? Get a good tuner to tune your car and you can get 400+whp runs on a stock block. Check around honda-tech and you'll see many people that have big turbos on their stock block engines. i think the current rercord is 650+whp on a stock GSR block. Good luck with your ride and make sure to make some videos of that beast!:dopey:

k heres an example of what i was saying...

bone stock gsr block/b16a2 head = 395.4whp / 262.4tq PUMP gas 92 octane
t3/t67 H.O. @ 12psi boost.

The lower graph is 22psi to 9000rpms the higher graph is 24psi and a 50 which shut off at 8000rpms.

Taurine - Still looking good, and its nice to see the project hasn't been forgotten. 👍

DDMv2 - Cool vid, and nice display of dyno charts. Your from the T.Dot area, so maybe you've heard of Mike at Turbo Boyz. I believe he's running a simular setup on his hatch, and last year he was running low 11's at Cayuga. Unfortuantly his engine surpassed to the same demise as many other highly boosted Honda engines and blew up on the track. :indiff:

Ronnie Lim (Mag and Turbo Integra 9.88@147mph) is Arnie and Reeces good mate, but Arnie can get me the mean prices on anything I want ;)

It's a drag racer so suspension isn't paramount but at the moment it's got Koni Yellow adjustables and Neuspeed springs.

I remembered you saying that there was some guy at your work who was giving you some tips.
Arnie Nyugen? He had that red RX7, the first import into tens, that guy? And Ronnie Lim too, fastest FWD in NZ. And you also work with Reece, the fastest (2nd fastest?) import drag racer in NZ. But apart from that, I can't understand where the desire to go drag racing came from.....

💡

Reece is the fastest now, 7.81 @ 177mph. Still the second fastest 4WD in the world but that should hopefully change soon.

Anyway, got my eye on this little ditty: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=58040114

So tempting..

Oh yea, I couldn't remember off the top of my head if he was the fastest. For some reason I was under the impression that the Rayglass Datto had run quicker but I'm probably just insane since the Datsun is probably in a workshop being rebuilt.

Mate, do you really need another escrote? :P But really, that's quite a minter for the price. Want it as a daily driver or mentally planning another project car?

Back on topic a bit,
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=58346879&key=471467
this has been tempting me. B16a, proper gearbox (no auto ****) and fairly low ks for its age.
And I can afford it! Incredible as it may seem.

50 pages?! Holy Honda Batman!

Anyone ever wonder why Nissan and Mazda have their own Sub Forums, and Honda doesn't? There's a huge lacking of Honda love around this place. :grumpy:

Is mike the guy that ran the Red EG hatch back? I remember one red eg from last year that was running low 11s and looked pretty damn good doing it.

Yeah I think we should get our own Sub forum. Its not fair nissan and mazda get their own sub forums.:(

I believe so, his EG has changed colors a couple times now, but you can tell its him by the "Turbo Boyz" sticker across the back window. Amazing car, and its crazy to watch, especially the day I saw him when his engine was making more popping sounds then a fireworks display before it finally barfed its internals all over the ground.

We should protest until we get our own sub forum. Our slogan can be "Give us a sub forum or give us banned titles". 💡

Honda needs a Subforum... I mean whats better then V-Tec?? Ok ok ok.. GT-R and Rotary are killer... But i mean V-Tec!!! I remember i read somewear that they said.. "V-Tec is the only way to make a grocery getter sound likea F1 car"
👍

I don't think I can be bothered with it at the moment, besides I don't have the money and I need to start saving to get this Civic on the track.

The current escort needs to be replaced because I can feel the gearbox on it's way out now so I might buy another EF Civic as a work hack and sell the escrote off for some cash in hand for the race Civic :mischievous:
