Nice pictures Time_Attack, but that's certainly not enough.

I'd like more of this wagovan on Stern Aguzze's, and the EK behind it on Desmond Regamaster Evo's. đź‘Ť

...They registered 30 pounds. The tire weighs about 18, deduced from TireRack, which means that the stock rims are (oh no!) lighter than the aftermarket ones I want. But they are an inch taller and 1.5 wider, so I can deal with it.

Your trying to tell me your stock rims weigh in at 12 pounds? Ive taken turds that weigh more then that......im surprised Toyomatt didnt roll his eyes in your general direction lol..

Toyoatt: Hows the move going?

Justin: sign your lazy ass into aim, i got the day off tomorrow so you better be on.

I rolled my eyes in my general direction.

"Well, the whole thing weighs 30, the tire weighs 18, so the rim weighs.....god damn it!"

I don't have enough money for rims bigger and lighter than stock, and that annoys me. I know rims are a long while off, so maybe I'll have the money for a kickass set in the future.

So i wondered if you had space in your club for a female Honda Beat fan? (hopefully soon to be owner....)

just trying to talk the oh into taking me to buy this little beauty:

beat012oj1.th.jpg

beat009cv9.th.jpg

an original '91 model with all original parts and only 75,ooo miles on the clock!

top speed of 87mph so watch me fly by blonde hair blowing in the wind!

Oh wow. Are there any other guys in here that know anything about the Beat? Actually, those are the first pictures I've ever seen of a real one. They aren't clickable, by the way, so you might want to fix the links.

Also, I'm confused as to why the windows are up but the top is down. Anyone who rides a convertible with the windows up shouldn't necessarily burn in hell, but some sort of punishment should be exacted on them, with proper convertible etiquette lessons to follow.

I got the new gasket on there and it didn't do a damn thing. Its leaking from the bottom of the flange on either side. I gave up on getting it any tighter when I broke 2 adapters and nearly broke another wrench. The gasket is almost the perfect size and the other one works fine.

Any idea what else I can do short of welding it on there for good?

What do you want to know?
its a 'k' class sports car. it weighs approx 760kg.
6.1/7000kgm/rpm
24litre fuel capacity
656 cc
and funky looking to boot!
and will do over 180mph when being pushed by specialised in a salleen

I like the beat. I'd love to own one. I'd have to try and do something like backyard special did and stuff a B18C in there.

Wonder if a K20 could go in there...

Cake it up with red RTV (aka gasket maker).

My tube says "Permatex high-temp rtv silicone gasket maker" on it.

Can I get that at any parts store?

I'm seriously hating this car right now.
Yes, a decent auto parts store should have it.

I got mine at an Ace hardware; I know for a fact that Home Depot does not carry it.

Do it at night so it has ~12 hours to cure before you get the exhaust hot again.

I work at night :P

but that sounds good. I knew there had to be something out there like that but wasn't sure what was best. I can just seal around the outside with it then?

Also, while I the right-rear tire off the Sol to put more wire around my exhaust (it's rusted through and hanging just aft of the flange back there) I decided to weigh my wheel and tire. They registered 30 pounds. The tire weighs about 18, deduced from TireRack, which means that the stock rims are (oh no!) lighter than the aftermarket ones I want. But they are an inch taller and 1.5 wider, so I can deal with it.

Actually the rims pictured weigh about 16.3lbs each, and Del Sol rims weigh about 16.8lbs each.

You just made me smile. I looked on a few sites and found many contradictory numbers, so I just decided to weigh them myself. It also doesn't help that TireRack doesn't actually carry my tire in my size, so I just guessed at the tire's weight. I trust your info though; I'm glad to know that my stock rims are heavier than the aftermarket ones I want.

The Beat is a pretty cool little car, I always liked driving it in Gran Turismo since you could take corners at top speed with the super slicks on. Whats this Backyard B18C5 thing you're talking about? Any more info or pics?

A few sites being what? Wheelweights.net? I have 4 sets of rims that contradict their weights, just as a sidenote. ;)

The problem with using some of the weights on Tire Rack, is that they don't bring into factor outside differences, like tire wear, air pressure, etc.... My buddy had a set of the rims you have on your car, and we weighed them a while back on a professional scale I had at my old work (had to be close to perfect in scale, due to the amount of shipping we did).

Here's a barrage of pics/info. ;)

Cot dang! Thats insane.

I'm only going to assume that none of that is "drop in/swap", which means its probably one of a kind. What kind of performance did they get out of the thing? And most importantly, why can't I atleast do something like that and race it in GT?!?!

I really don't know the overall performance specs', seeing as I've only read about it on RARE occasions. It's quite the piece though, considering how much effort in design, there truly is. I can only imagine that thing RIPS up corners.

Coolest Top Gear yet!

I'm actually surprised he even fit inside them to be honest, but he didn't look too unfortable at all. Even the interior of the Beat surprised me as it almost has the same looking centre console as my G35. Too bad they never brought any over to North America, although with the way SUV owners drive over here, maybe we're luckier that they didn't.

the amazing thing is, theres even room for his head! he could put the roof up and still have room for his curly mop!
at just under 6foot myself, i know i'm gonna be safe! not sure where i'm going to put my shopping tho! would be really interested to compare the specs of the purple monster with that of my yellow submerine!

There is a guy on honda-tech with a red one. I think hes in georga. I don't believe there are enough in the u.s to break double digits though.

I don't have much info on that super beat. From what I have read they built it for gymkhana. I suppose it would go like a bat out of hell. I know that backyard special also built a first gen crx that was mid engined and they were using a supercharged toyota motor.

Hey guys, aren't you proud of me?

Eibach Sport System = ordered as of, like, 5 minutes ago. If I remember I'll take pictures of the install even though it's quite routine for all you freaks.
