Can't join because I can't get online on GT5. I restored it to v1.05, so it'll take ages to get back to 2.11. I'm going to do it over night.

gee that sucks, I'd recommend doing a back up of the game files in the future, saves on internets

No. I did it on purpose. I've not lost anything, in fact I have gained. I did the permanent borrow glitch.

I can't come either my dad is watching top gear on record where the ps3 is I will try the swift tomorrow and it will probably make its debut on Saturday night :D :D

Didn't realise it required so much effort, what did you get in return?

A special GT-R for offline use. I'm up for a practise tomorrow though.

Well your call, pity it couldn't have waited, but hopefully its a good car.

Just me and GOINDYCOLTS in here at the moment, we'll wait a wee bit longer, then possibly do a practice run, might wait til the next hour (or 8am-ish here)

Alright, well not a too popular practice session as it turn out.

I set a 1:12.2 to start things off, but GIC and Spatt who joined me couldn't quite make that time (I don't believe).

I ended up setting a new PB of 1:10.829, which must be near the maximum, I think anything over 1:10.5 here would be miraculous, I was near the limit for that time, everything felt good.

Just want to walk back an earlier comment I made about the transmission, I think I was 10km/h too high (6mph). I also realise that I'm the only one from a metric country so...

I think the trans should be set at roughly 115 mph / 190 kph. I don't even get up to 190km/h, and if I did, it's only when going into the pits, or if I'm about the crash at the last or first corners. I generally use the default final gear and just change the top speed, but I will occassionally lower/raise individual gears for particular tracks, this time I think I've maxed out my 2nd gear as it was bugging me having to change up too quickly.

The OP will be updated shortly, less than 47 hours until the race commences :)

how many laps are we running tomorrow night?

i couldn't get that time and i was getting tired so my times where just getting longer in the end.

gunna be an interesting race for overtaking? hope were doing plenty of laps.

Also think there might be one or two race incidents with people trying to out break one another

Yes. This race will be exciting, but also, very challenging. Try not to cause any carnage people.

Conza, how are you so much faster than everyone else at Eiger? I can run with you everywhere, and I'm faster at Trial Mountain, but at Eiger, you've got the legs on me. My best is 1:11.1, so I still have a bit of work to do. Let's hope I get consistent lap times in the race.

@Spatt - we're going with 2 x 10 laps. We'll see how we all feel after the race, it may be slightly too long, if so I'll reduce the remaining races to the equivilent of 2 x 8 laps here, but if we like this length I'll continue it for the remainder of the series. If it stands, we should be looking at approximately half hour events, which'd be nice and tidy if we could do that (finishing at 2100 UTC not 2130 UTC as originally planned).

@Cgg, Well I promise it isn't cheating, it's just being in tune with my car and this track, no rule saying each persons car must be different either, it may be 5 different cars for each of the events, the same car for all 5 events, or we may all use the exact same car on one particular event. As much as I like winning, I like competitive racing more.

Eiger is a very special track for me, it's not only my hot hatch favourite track, but also , I think it's my favourite track in the game, it's my personal version of the Top Gear test track, whenever I want to test a mod to a / car, I go there, I would've done thousands of laps, spent days of continuous running here.

All for a second or so in my own little race series? Probably not worth it, but yes this may be why I have a slight advantage, or it could be the car works well here, who knows, because of my particular cars extremely low down power, I'm running at 234BHP and 1106kgs to achieve 450PP, 1 less kgs or 0.1% more power and I go over 450PP, so maybe PP does count for something. With that being said, I was a couple of tenths down at Trial, I think I'm roughly on par elsewhere, who knows.

Wow! That's a lot of laps Conza. That's what I'm like a Trial Mountain though. When a car needs a set-up, that isn't specific to a track, I go there and tune it. I also did a lot around Laguna Seca, so hopefully I can break the record there. I reckon my Seat Ibiza is pretty much up to the pace at all tracks. I'm going to stick with it and see how it goes. Just a small hint with mine, I use different parts for my Sarthe tune, and the suspension is better suited for top speed rather than acceleration.

Are we opening a room tonight?

The race is on this Saturday afternoon/night... so, yes? If you meant Friday afternoon / night, I was sleeping this Satuday morning, but I don't think I should practice there any more until the race anyway, everyone can practice in their own time if they'd like, we have just under 19 hours to go until the next two races are underway.

Think I need to pick your brains about car suspension settings ;)

I've tried messing with camber and toe but honestly don't really feel a difference.

I guess when you say set up for top speed your car hunkers down because of the way you've got it set, wish I knew enough about it to achieve that

Well he's the guy to ask, I'm a complete amature, I just go find the lowest tune I can find for a particular car, and use it, then I just do common sense tuning 'well initial torque is how much is required to activate the lsd, and I'm still burning tyres, better turn that down' but wouldn't know how much camber or toe or anything like that, dampers and compression hardly make sense to me that much.

11 hours til room opens, 10.5 til race start ;)

EDIT: Thanks Dano

Yes, it has been corrected we'll probably have finished in ~12 hours, its 11 and 10.5 respectively.

Sorry I can't come. I should have said earlier, but I'm not in tonight, again. Looks like I'll only be competing in 5 of the 10 races.

@ cgg - thats a bit lame, sorry to hear it, we had some great racing tonight.

Race A started off wonky (so did Race B, but we'll get to that in a minute), I'd qualified first, but started in 4th position on the grid?

Quade lead the charge for the majority of the race, I made it up to him at lap 7, but accidentally cut the 2nd corner, and was given a 10/9.5 second penalty, I can see now why some want it on weak, but I think it was fair. I eventually caught up to him and passed him on lap 9, but he made a good fight of it, thanks Quade!

I was also too sleepy to record Race A, irritatingly enough, so I remember 1st and 2nd, I think I saw Spatt in 4th, Ste in 5th, which means Husam was 3rd. If these places are wrong please let me know and I'll correct the points standings - if anyone did record race A, I'd love to get your copy, hopefully I won't make that saving mistake again.

Just want to point out, only because of my speed advantage did I not cancel the first race, if we get a mucked up grid start like that again, I'll just re-do it, otherwise there's no point in qualifying, your qualifying advtange may win you a race (didn't apply here so I used my prerogative).

Likewise for Race B, don't know what happened, was sure the room was on 'fastest first' but this time I started at last place? Anyway, with a minor nudge and minor ram here and there, (only nudges personally, sometimes rams are accidents, but anyway), Quade again lead the charge, but this time Husam was right in the stray! I was in third, watching these two battle it out, I eventually passed Husam (I believe), then got past Quade again, but then Husam got passed Quade and into 2nd place! And he was right on the race pace, had to give it eveything not to slow down. Eventually won agian, this time I saved the replay so I know the results, Quade came in a close 2nd, followed by Husam, Ste and Spatt.

It's a pity that a couple of key racers weren't here, I guess by the third event in the series we'll know who the common ones are, so far all of the people at Event 2 were at Event 1 as well, the points score should 'eventually' reflect who's in and who's not.

The OP will be updated again shortly to reflect the scoring, but I'll post it here now anyway; I also want to add that those who didn't compete won't be getting points, don't think its really fair to award points for people who didn't post having difficulties or that they couldn't make either Race A or B before the event.

im not gunna make the next race. im moving out shortly and im having a party on Sat. hopefully ill be able to claw back some points the week after. Eiger was terrible play for me, poor race but dont think the glitching helped much at the start of race 1

We might have to have a by next week and move it to the following week...

Anyone else that can't make it next week, the following, or the week after that?

So, who is up for skipping this week? And doing round 3 on the 9th? I might also make another by probably for round 4 (maybe 5, I'll advise) , meaning either round will be pushed back two weeks from its current date, for example round 4 on the 23rd of March and round 5 on the 30th.
