Hot Hatch League | Series 1

Hi,

I just joined GTplanet and was looking for a clean racing series to run. This Hot Hatch series seems really cool and I was considering running your last three races.

I put together a few cars last night per your restrictions and ran Laguna Seca just to see if I was even close to the lap time you posted as the best for this track. I was more than 5 seconds off the pace after tuning my cars
the best I could. I bumped the horse power to 250 just to see if I could get close and posted a 1:38.

I want to join a league to learn and race with guys that dont punt you all over the track, but want to be somewhat competitive. Do you think there is some competiton at my level (moderate I would say) in this league ?

I dont want to hinder your series if you guys are racing at a much higher level than me.

No damson, we are more than happy for you to join. We accept drivers of any ability, as long as they are clean. It's also fine that you've missed the first races, I've only participated in 1 of the races we have had so far. I'll sign you up if you would like, and I hope to see you at the next round.

@Conza I am up for missing the round, because I can't make it anyway. So if we just push the 3 remaining rounds back a week, so we don't race this Saturday, it would be helpful for me championship wise.
 
Ok.. my dawsonn57 is my PSN and GTP id. I guess I will try the Ford Focus ST '06 in Electric Orange/Carbon Fiber Black hood/ Aluminum wheels .

I will stay tuned for the next race or practice... Thnx Dawsonn

Hey man, don't worry about being competitive, it's all about racing fun, and hopefully you'll improve with us through the various series we do :)

I would probably recommend a standard car, make sure it can be at least 1100kgs, and a tune should help.
 
Thnx Conza, to me if its clean racing, I am having fun. I am sure I will learn from you guys and get faster as I go.

Ok , with your series taking a week off I will try out some standard cars. Do you have any suggestions on a good car to start with?
 
I will be racing with you dawsonn as I'm at about your pace so you will have some competition
 
We often have official practises, we really should arrange another one for the next round.

dawsonn57 - Try using something with a lot of torque compared to it's power. That's what i did, and I have a very competitive car.
 
Were nor officially racing due to 3 purple not being able to make it, Burr I've still got the free time, keys do a practice for next week, same time tonight
 
If you do a fun race tonight I can't come because the tv where the ps3 is has broken and won't be back till Thursday but I have moved it to my room but now can't go online for some reason only offline and its loading times take for ages
( the broken tv is 40inch and my Tv 19inch)
 
Shame to hear that, it won't be an official race, so atleast there's that.

It's Laguna Seca time in just under 11 hours, my lounge, we'll do some casual practice, then probably a test race with the 6 laps we're currently using.

Transmissions, well probably 130mph / 220kmh not too sure on that one, hope to see many of us then.
 
Ok room open, Husamone is online but possibly busy, lets have a practice :)
 
Well, tried having a go with a DS3, just for fun to see how fast I was, and I think I'm faster than my old record anyway, not sure about the PB, I'll update in a second.

The current record (possibly) is a 1:37.979 with my trusty Mini Cooper S and a DS3. I'll be interesting to see if I can beat that with my G27, and if so by how much. I want to be sure this is my best DS3 time, so I'll give it another good 3-4, maybe even 5 laps if I'm feeling there's more room for improvement.

EDIT: Nope, never mind, 1:36.951 by Quade420/GOINDYCOLTS, doubt there will be a second in my wheel, but maybe half a second, back on the horse then.

EDIT 2: I nearly got a 1:37.600 with the DS3, but clipped the outside of a corner, right before the corkscrew, so I'm going to assume if I had patience that'd be roughly my best, possibly a 1:37.4-5 (doubtful better than that). Time for the G27...

Didn't realise you were still in it - no worries though, we'll be here when you have more time ;)
 
I know this isn't official, but round Laguna in my Seat, I beat the record by about 0.5 seconds. It's definitely my favourite track of the 5, so hopefully I can score some good points there.

Back guys. Should be there this weekend. Cgg, nice on the record. I don't think I'll be able to come even close to that. Apparently mine was a fluke.

For all the newcomers who have only just joined, I'm the one to beat, because I have already missed 3 of the 4 races.

whens practice? not looking forward to Laguna as im not very fast at that track but every point counts right?
