First Editions FTE variation now this:

Damn, I needed that car.

I'm sure there's still some around. I used to see these on TTP not sell for a looong time.

edit: actually, I have an extra I don't think I've disassembled yet. The condition may not be good. It's one McZach sent me years ago. Want it?

The mainline is still crazily in demand to the point I can't say "wanting to mod a car with a price tag like Kyosho" is crazy anymore.

If it's not mint, no.

What's the before version? No lights, Corgi wheels and a greater ground clearance. I shaved off about a 1mm off the base so I could bring it lower. It's not beautifully assembled, but who said I'm going to show any picture of the base? :P

ex Corgi '57 T-Bird indeed.
Screw. You. That's a casting I wish I had! Nice job of course! Car does indeed sit up high originally, looks better lowered. 👍

I can see I am not the only one wanting to customize ex Corgi's. 👍 I am hoping to find another ex Corgi Ferrari Testarossa with lace wheels and most importantly, a Ford Sierra. Don't plan doing much to the Testarossa, but I have big plans for the Sierra.

1st post here. Nice thread. Been reading a through these posts. Really good info. I just got back to customizing. I used to do a lot of them. Mostly HWs and 1/64 muscle machines. I'm trying to retrieve my account back on HWC, also.

Don't forget to look in the collectors thread as well.

so can someone tell me where they got the rubber for this. I know this is an old post but I like the way these were done. I want to replicate this but need source/idea for the rubber

I don't know about the rubber, but I know these are darn hard to make, I've tried and failed but I didnt have a dremel.

Wheels suit that a treat IMO. Nice color and like I said, wheels work very well, infact, make the car.

Zero tubes given. :P

Been on a lazy streak with these RB customs. I have used the tubes for these F&F mainlines I'm finishing up right now though.

So, I just learned how to make custom splitters on Hot Wheels... AND I'M IN LOVE! If you want to know just ask. Plus I finally got around to finishing one of those Scions from months ago...

Hmm. I don't see it that way, but it's not something I'd like to engage a discussion on.

I've been sharing whatever new tricks I found on the web with you guys even if you may not even have the tools to do it yourselves.

Photos one day, modded the next.

The goal with these were to swap in wheels that matched the real car better.

MC5s weren't very close. I threw on chrome-lipped black RR5SPs.
