I'm really glad there's as much interest in this thread as there is, but I really wish some of you got proper cameras. but half the time I can't see it.

It's a real shame because they aren't listening.

I've said it so many times before that you don't need high quality products to produce a decent photo. They just need to put extra effort into making it happen. If they don't want to amaze us with their work, that's their choice. :indiff:

You're right, scratch the part about better cameras. Getting a better light/ shooting in the daylight goes a long long way.

Where you get the wheels for the supra? And also how you do your exhaust? Because I have a cheap and easy way to make them and they look real aswell.

I took the wheels from a NASCAR Stockcar, then removed the yellow Goodyear logos and proceeded to paint the rims silver. [EDIT] Painting the rims, I found it easiest to take a cotton swab, and lightly dip one of the ends in the paint. Then you can lightly dip the swab into the wheel, and get the look you desire.

I make my exhausts from the hollow plastic tubing on cotton swabs, aka Q-Tips. I just cut them to the length I need, and clip off a small amount from the side I glue to the base, and then I paint it black.

Those wheels look a treat as for the exhaust, I use a wooden skewer and sand it down to create the cannon effects. The smaller pipe going into the larger muffler effects.

That is pretty stellar sounding! I dont do muffler's, because I do my exhausts to look like "straight pipes".

I am waiting for the paint to dry, but in a little bit, I will post pics of the Charger Daytona, and the SRT Hellcat Charger. The Daytona is finished, and I am happy to say that the paint turned out right. The Hellcat still needs it's detailing, inside and out. I am going to try a different technique for a roll bar.

As promised, here are some pictures!
First, I will show the '66 Nova, that I painted Satin Black. I painted the door handles, locks, and tail light bezels. I also added custom dual exhaust, and a drivers side roll bar. The car looks amazing!

Here is the drivers side roll bar, and the door detailing.
Nova 1.jpg

Next up, this is the rear end detailing, and custom dual exhaust. The plate area was painted blue, as Michigan's plates are blue.
Nova 2.jpg

Next up is the '69 Charger Daytona. It started out as a 2014 Hot Wheels Fast and Furious Series Daytona. Here it is, stripped and ready for paint!
Daytona 1.jpg

And, here it is, done! Detailed exterior, and I just got lazy and left the interior alone.
Daytona 2.jpg

I detailed the headlight covers, the vent, gas cap, and door handles.
Daytona 3.jpg

I detailed the tail lamps, and the license plate.
Daytona 4.jpg

And the Daytona is done! I did a coat of Krylon Satin Black, followed by a coat of Testors Purple-Licious. I topped it off with a very thin layer of Dupli-Color Pearl Blue Metallic. I love the way it turned out!

I only have 3 pics of the SRT Hellcat Charger. I need to wait until tomorrow, for some daylight, to help show the color of the car better. Here it is, stripped and ready for paint!
Hellcat 1.jpg

Here, I tried my hardest with a tooth pick, to detail the head lamps. I didn't do the greatest job in the world, but I am happy with it. Looks great in person!
Hellcat 2.jpg

This is the work I did on the rear end. I painted the tail lights, and here is the custom exhaust. I still want to paint the tips silver, like the real thing. And I need to add reverse lamps. I will post pictures when I finish that.
Hellcat 3.jpg

And that is it for now. I still need to detail the interior, and try to add a custom roll bar. I will take more pictures of the SRT Hellcat Charger tomorrow, as I plan to finish it before then! Let me know what you think!

My international cuad cab needs a trailor I added the drive shafts for the front and rear wheal drive the usual black interior an got rid off all the yellow this particular casting Had left the yellow wheals cuz I think it looks good with it

I'm preparing this Matchbox Lesney Javelin that I've had in pieces and stripped in my box of projects for two years now for the upcoming Hot Wheels Mexico Club custom contest. And I will show you the progresss of the ugly thing here, basically step by step. It's a terrible casting but it has potential. You just have to, you know, refabricate the whole car in order to achieve it.

So far, it's all been doing the gritty stuff. The original yellow glass is all kinds of horrible so I made new glass for it; also made rear side glasses but those were missing in the pics:

The front air dam came from the 70 Camaro that I made into the Chaparral car; it was reworked a bit to fit.

The hood shutlines were created and extended to the hood of the car, if you look closely at the stock picture, this thing doesn't have shutlines.

The wheels are off a Racing Champions Nascar thing. I will of course rework the stance of this thing, it's still a looong way to go.

That is one mean looking car, Cano! Love your work!

Thanks everyone. And I forgot, new post at Custom Diecast México! Most of you have seen it already in one or two pics, but here it is in full detail...

Awesome work!
Though I don't think Quattro is derived from Spanish ''cuatro'', but Italian ''quattro''.
I just figured that the wording you used on the blog was a bit weird.

Mexican custom = mexican word. 'Sides, I never said the commercial use of the word derived from the spanish, I only explained why the license plate was four 1s.

You implied it by saying Quattro is a spin-off of cuatro, never explaining this wasn't referring to the commercial name.
Unless you mean to say that your specific custom of an Audi Quattro is also called a Quattro, but your definition of Quattro has a different origin than the original Quattro. Which is just a bit daft (and again was never explained). Quattro means 4 in Italian, so the licence plate makes perfect sense.
Not my blog though, so do as you please.

Stop saying Quattro dude, dear God.

Hey guys, its been a little while since I updated my Supra project, I love how everyone elses cars are coming along so quickly. I unfortunately do not get to work on my car as much as I want to so little has been done, mostly just the interior. The 40 Ford drag truck I took apart for the chute and wheelie bars also had a great set of tubs and a fuel cell in its bed so I decided to modify it to work in the Supra. I also started the base for the rollcage, once the tub section gets mounted permanently I am going to connect the cage to the rear section. The passenger side area is also a little dull, do you guys know of a good Nitrous bottle I could steal from another Hot Wheel to put in its place? I'm also curious to what colors I should paint this thing, I originally wanted the wheels silver but the black looks so good, what about the rest of the body and the rollcage? I need that cage to really pop against the black/silver interior. Any suggestions?

Also, I spent just a few minutes toying around with the chopped up 40 Ford I had and some pieces from other cars, I have some good real riders for it, think I should try and make it work?

What is it? An old stingray?
It's a corvet grand sport its A nice pece but I don't have the ability to restore it to that beautiful blue with all the racing tampos so il go silver I think :)

The paint is not coming out that easy I'm going to have to brake out the sand blaster :)

Does anyone know how to get paint off paint?

In the factory sometimes they smudge the surface with a different colour from a car which was being produced at the same time.

Is there anything safe to get it off, I tried rubbing alcohol and it didn't work. Any thoughts?
