That old porcshe is really down in the weeds! I know i said I didn't like celicas but this one here looks mean. Nice stanceOhh lol, it's not really a custom, it came from your post showing how cool castings look just stripped and polished. I just didn't polish mine as I wanted that old racer look to it. Just lowered the crap out of it and just detailed it.
Been a while. One of my extras of this:
Entered the surgery room. It was going to be a straight-up wheel-swap to gold BBSs all around, same size all. Then, when looking for them in my wheel stash the fat ones popped up and it's destiny was decided. Problem was... they didn't fit, lol. So some dremeling was in order. And while I was at it I also decided to do something I'd wanted to do for a while: exposed turbos. So I also trimmed the lower part of the rear bumper and its sides so the most direct exhaust tips in history could exit at the sides of the car. The snails are those thingies used to make necklaces and sutff. Was really hard to find a correct size for the turbos. The inward tubes are butterfly clips cut to use their bent corners.
The interior was detailed, the original plastic rollcage painted, and I added an aditional brace with aluminum tubing.
final result:
The gold chrome of the wheels came off just by manipulating them. Lame. Had to touch them up using Tamiya gold.
Full detailing of holes and black plastic surfaces.
Detailing such a long tail-lamp is harder than it looks, lol. Again, full detailing of black stuff, altough the air inlet on top of the wing is Tamiya gunmetal or something like that.
The wheels work because they look the same diameter, but with fatter rear tires. The rears had to be adjusted with aluminum tubing btw.
In this picture the turbos look pretty uneven but I swear this looks a lot better in real life.
And here we go! Even if it's quite a basic custom, it's got a bit of work on it, and I finally did the balls-hangin' Porsche I'd wanted to do for a while, so win this is.
Sometimes hitting the 'Like' button just doesn't cut it.. we need a rating system instead. 10 out of 10 👍 That thing looks like it means business!Been a while. One of my extras of this:
