Thanks R1600,AOS,Cano. 👍

@ R1600. LED suggestion is very tempting, but i'm not sure i can make it fit (not that it isn't possible.. just not confident at being able to pull it off).

@ AOS. Cano's right, drag car will be the next Z, but won't be the next custom.

@ Cano. I'd actually decided on making the drag car a turbo... but this:

is actually giving me second thoughts. Dat blower!

Yes Dat one ^ (not sure what you call them, but i like it)

9's and a street car? Impressive!

I must admit, iv'e never really been all that into American engines/cars in general, but since watching Richard Rawlings (Gas Monkey) Fast' N' Loud, iv'e grown more of an appreciation of them.

haha yes they are blowers dude. And 9 second street cars are slow street cars these days, go figure. Today, six second street cars are the rage. Watch this:

The thing has won Hot Rod's Drag Week like 5 years in a row, driving from track to track, posting low-7s/high-6s in each.

Wow! though i think i'd be scared to drive that thing on the road. Crazy gear set-up as well, is that the norm in drag cars?

It's like the aspiring point in street driven drag cars. There's another one in the 6s already, Bob Lutz's 57 Chevy:

After trying for about two years at Drag Week, the thing finally broke the 6s with a 6:90 two weeks or so ago and beat Larson's Nova in the process. The car has also been at Drag Week two or three times, so it is a real, proven street car. Both cars have endured several almost 2,000 mile trips driving on their own.

EDIT: I think you were refering to the Lenco box. Yes it's pretty much the norm, though it is still rare to see in street driven cars.

Thanks guys, I'm adding this to my to-do list:

Replica of this:

'70 & '71 mix of the Roadrunner in the front, '71 Challenger in the back.

Wow! Another 6sec car... that 7sec (3 liter inline 6 turbo) 'Z' i posted a while ago, has a long way to go... and i think it was a trailer queen as well.

Lenco box. Cheers, i wonder whether anyone's ever pulled the wrong lever.

AOS. Do it man, that should look really cool. 👍

I'm a straight up car guy, but those kind of cars just never interested me. If I were to own a muscle car in the future, it would have a modern drivetrain and interior in it.

I'd definitely need decal paper for that because I sure as hell ain't painting on any dragons or flowers.

edit: Oh? I pull open my drawer and find there are indeed a few unopened ink cartridges for this rusty printer! I need to test drive this tonight! :D

It must be fate. It is destined. :D

I do hear what you're saying (everyday usability/comfort/handling)... But when i win my lottery millions (when, not if ), i'll have an original 240Z (carbed straight six), a 240Z with maybe a SR20DET (Vildini style) and modern running gear + S14 interior... Or a Honda F20C2 engine swapped Z, and a spaceframed V8 'Z' with a Blower! :D.

And then i wake up.

Wait, what? I don't even remember when/where/why I said that.

Sorry, Cano - my bad - posted it (when you saw it) without the speech bubble. Edited and replaced with speech bubble - you should be able to recall the past with a click now.

I reckon a bread box with a plant poking outta the upper sunroof would be pretty damn cool.

Aerophytes are the best bet for miniature potting like this.

If you ever get to foiling, you'll never turn back to paint. Also, awesoke job on the Z! Those fenders are amazing.

Agree about the foiling - also small crystal beads work, too. Paint just doesn't cut it.

Must add that Doctor Ford is using his time wisely on the Z. A+ 👍

Cheers Harry. 👍 I'm really tempted about the foil thing, but at the same time, iv'e heard it can be quite tricky to work with. I guess i'm not going to find out unless i try it.

Here's the first car i'm going to customize, need to get some more Matchbox/Hotwheels cars as i got rid of a lot of them, only got around 4 or 5 now. Planning to change the wheels as the front set are wonky and give it a new paint-job.

Will get some of the supplies tomorrow hopefully. Any ideas on the colour or anything else that might need doing?

Meh, this truck is similar enough. Other casting I plan to use should this current one succeed are:

And possibly a Surfin' School Bus, Chevy Blazer 4x4, VW 181, Chevy Stepside
Im not really feeling it for the rest. That one you did looks great.👍 Can't wait to see more like this!👍

Well then you've been played, because Candy Blue does indeed NOT look good on everything. Candy Blue works a a lot less cars than red or say- Green.

mp10. Do a Candy Green body with White-wall tires.

Thanks for the advice, might pop down to the local art and craft shop to pick up some supplies. Can i paint the white wall onto the wheels? Which paint should i use? or should i just look for a car with these wheels and then swap them?

Thanks 👍

Taken the car apart, when removing the rivet, am i only supposed to remove the top part of the rivet? or drill a hole right through it?

Front wheel rod is bent so might just straighten it out and re use them.

You can just drill off the top part. Then you can just glue the car back together.

For a more professional look you can follow my tutorial in the OP about using 2/56 screws.

I switched to using a drill now. I found a drill bit that isn't dull. Was getting out clean cuts by the minutes...
