I look forward to seeing your new projects Dillon. đź‘Ť
You won't be disappointed!;)

That's perfect!

Create a line of customs and call it Dilly of a Diecast.
Thats funny! To be honest i get called "Dilly" quite often.;) I have had many nicknames over the years.;) I don't care if you call me Sonygamer or by my name or anything like that, im cool with it.:)

My current customs in progress:

Project 1
Project: Restoration and sort of custom.
Vehicle:Kenworth Big Rig (i forget the full name)
Details: It's the yellow Kenworth i posted earlier. Looking to repaint it and find another Kenworth with BW wheels to replace the ones it has.

Project 2
Project: Custom
Vehicle: Lamborghini Countach
Details: I plan to do a Countach like no one has ever done before.;) Need to get decal paper.

Project 3
Project: Custom and Restoration
Vehicle: 41' Willys
Details: My dad painted it about the same time he painted that black Dairy Delivery, like the Dairy Delivery, it's going to be redone the same way it was before but with details.

Project 4 (My "crazy idea")
Project: Custom
Vehicle: [CLASSIFIED]
Details: It's my craziest idea yet!:sly: The only thing im lacking is the Boulevard series Rigor Motor to add the finishing touches.:sly: If i can figure out a way to chrome the base and some other metal parts real shiny i will consider it too!:sly:

I much rather refer to people by their given name, or any nick name if their username doesn't sound like a name, like your username or Jason's.

Dilly of a Diecast isn't a bad name for naming your customs. If we throw some more Ds in there, it'll sound delightful.

Theres a song for that! That is a great idea AOS-! I don't know what custom im going to give that name to but im sure i will later.;) Me personally i really like the name "The Double Dairy Duo" i gave to the Dairy Deliveries.đź‘Ť

Use that name to refer to your collection of custom diecasts. This way, when your work gains enough exposure, people can recognize photos of your customs through a name you stick in each and every one of your photos.

A few of the pros that get in Lamley's weekly customs blog stick a signature logo in their photos and like that they become that much more famous.

I took my mine a step further:

These aren't new customs. I just detailed whatever was appropriate since they lacked the oomph to really become anything special and the photos sucked. For example, I detailed the taillights in the Celica.

My name should be in there somewhere... I had the laser cut "AOS" text on me, but I screwed up the plaque in the back by getting the text engraved so high up. I'm going to bring that to school tomorrow and saw off about an inch.

Just like Sivix, right AOS? ;)

mmm "SVX" is cool with me. I pronounce it like an abbreviation, like my username, though if you pronounce mine like a word, it still sounds like pronouncing each letter anyway.

Short random alphabets I'm cool with, since I won't be pronouncing them like word.

A $20 bill got me a silver leafing kit and jewelers files at Hobby Lobby today. So happy. :D

So I just had an idea. And while doing some research to see if it would work, I promptly stabbed myself in the finger with an axle end. Yay.

Oh yeah? I slashed a knuckle on the glass edge when I was putting my cars in one of the picture frame 2 days ago.

Starting to sound like working on real cars or something.

Celica & Audi looks fantastic. I wish Andy could have done something with the front end of the Celica(rear looks AMAZING), but it sure looks challenging, if not damnear impossible.

Stabbing my hands with screwdrivers are as much of a routine for me as brushing my teeth in the morning.
I also have a permanent bruise on the palm of my right hand from pushing so hard with said screwdrivers as well.
Last week I slipped and hit my finger with the threaded-ball drilling Dremel bit. Strangely nothing happened.

Wow, really? I almost want to watch how you use a screwdriver now.

You know, I was thinking about doing car body repair as a full-time job after I was done school just earlier today considering how I love making, fixing and modifying things.

As for the Celica, the smoked head lamps were pretty accurate to the real thing after a quick google search so I left it. If anything, I would've painted the bonnet on the AAR black, but I was too lazy to bust out any paint today.

Polishing metal bases now. This:
rules.

I take it that will be useful for brilliant, anodized and/or chrome finishes?

Hot Wheels really should consider doing the stock headlights. First gen Celica had the sweetest taillights, but I really dig the front end, too. It's actually very odd for them to go with the lens covered headlights. I don't even know if it was stock Toyota, or some aftermarket. I don't recall ever seeing one with the lens covers(I have on internet).

P.S. I don't think there's much money in body repair. If I worked on cars for living, I'd be a tech. Techs often hate their jobs, but auto repairs spendy, and I think it's cool to be able to work on your car whenever you want!

Auto body is always going to stay the same though, auto tech is constantly changing with technology and computers.

But still, this is the prevailing reason why auto tech is better.

Paint the exposed metal on that Beetle!

Also yucky choice for the 918. Matchbox 10 spokes are the way to go.

The Beetle is a work in progress. I thought I didn't need to say that.
I'm also gonna repaint/livery the Repo Duty as well.

I would have used those if I had some. JSPs look pretty good even though I hate those more than UHs.

Oh sorry. It was hard to make that out since your post went like this:

You
Hey guys! Here's some stuff I've done...

:P I notice you guys have an attraction to those flat spokeless dish cover wheels.

If you're talking about steelies, than everything you said is practically incorrect.

1) They're not flat.
2) They sometimes have very vague and small slots effectively making them a four-spoke layout.
3) They have no dish aspect to them.
4) They're famous for not having a cover.

They appear to look more like a metal dish than anything.

I mean, if I was ordering soup at a diner across the street, I'd rather have it served in that than- say a PR5 wheel. :P

Here's an old one of mine, way before this thread was ever made. I painted the wheels black and did up the rear lamps so they stood out a little more.

I'm in the all-out full trash of assembling the 5 cars for tomorrow. I hate when all of it comes together within mere hours of the showing lol.

I'm going to paint my RX-7 tomorrow and try to get some printer paper so I can start working on my decal fitment. As long as the "new" ink in the printer that's been sitting for a couple months still works. Not expecting it to...

Good luck with the show/comp Cano. đź‘Ť

@ Zach.
Not keen on the wheel choice, but i'm liking the direction the Beetle's roof is taking. đź‘Ť

[EDIT]
Maybe if you'd left a bit of structure at the rear of the roof, then the wheels would make more sense to me...
Along with a 'Herbie' livery maybe, you could even do a removable rag-top section (grey with B,R,W stripes), with a race/caged and highly detailed interior.

If you don't do it, then i probably will. :D

This all the way. And this is why I'm taking Auto Tech and some Auto Engineering, especially for the aftermarket world. But I got a soft spot for Auto Body, creating bodykits FTW.

Back on topic: Nice cars, especially the Caterham Zach, but I agree with everyone else with the True "new" Beetle. But I'm kinda feeling the wheels on the car will look good if your doing a classic retro style with the car (i.e. Super Beetle.)
