Honestly, I prefer using the standard PS3 dualshock controller. I know, some will say it takes realism away, but I don't like using the wheel.

Edit:I will switch back and forth because I have a feeling like Forza 3 most online players will be faster on a pad. I just have a strong/disgust/sometimes hate them feeling about the pad players.

I have a 42" tv and a NAD surround amp. To this I use 3x6" low quality rear speakers and as front speakers I have Dali Concept 8 2x8". The sound is alright, altough I could use better speakers. I don't have any wheel jet but I may buy it in a near future.
Yeah, the cat in front of the tv isn't always that calm, but sometime even he has to take it easy. He's not alone though, he has another terror companion.

That HKS controller looks interesting. What's the MSRP?

I was going to go the pad route and bought a limited edition ferrari thrustmaster race pad with a similar type little wheel on the left of the pad but it felt like you were pushing up to turn right and down for left, and it is a bit stiff with some delay before it turns.i'll be playing it on my Samsung S5 42":
with the new HKS Racing Controller (being released on 17th Nov):

I won't be using it again. It seems like the HKS controller looks a little better but that wheel thing is still going upwards instead of left to right, but good luck with it I hope it is much better than mine.
I have since bought a Wheelstand Pro and have fixed my G25 to it now.

I am in the process of welding my interpretation of the Virtual Roadster (which should be pretty identical). For my early christmas present my girl bought me the GT3 rs v2 clubsport. So that coupled w/ my 50" Pansonic plasma, and surround in a box, is going to be how I am racing into the new year. Now if i can manage to not catch my pants on fire while welding again I might just make it to release date.

I will be playing GT5 on my 42" 120hz LG. I will be using a G27 and I am hoping to buy a playseat before the release date(checking amazon everyday for deals, I heard some people say they got one off there for as low as $150).

By way of the DS3 and a nice new 42" 1080P LED i bought just for the game. With that and the PS3 itself, this GT5 game sure is costing me a lot more than i figured. Oh wait it will cost me more because i will need to buy it when its FINALLY OUT.

G27 wheel on my 24" Dell Monitor and Logitech speakers. With my favorite foldable chair and weird place to put the shifter, (on the handrail of another chair), my makeshift cockpit is amusing.
While Ive been patently waiting for it to come out I have done a few upgrades.
I have my PS3 hooked up to a new monitor, an 23 Inch LG Flatron that runs at a nice 1080p its not much compared with a massive plasma TV but its got a great picture
I also have my PS3 connected via optical cable to a Yamaha DSP-AX640SE amplifier with some 100w Wharfedale speakers and a matching subwoofer, not gone much higher than a third volume yet and its actually quite loud
To play it I have a Logitech G25, dont have the room for a proper racing seat or a stand which is a shame as I cant always have it set up
