How I USED to make 5,000,000 credits/hour through Custom Races... using a Fiat. But not anymore.

Proably becouse you didin’t pick you car against tomahawks or red bulls. using a 500 pp car against red bulls and tomahawks will get you the same money as grinding races for the same amount of time, and you can do this for every track
That doesn't sound like a remotely interesting race to do. I'd rather just let my console rack up all the credits I need, then do some interesting races.

I would not call it grinding as the only thing you must do is to rubberband the controller. You can use sophisticated methods or simply one as I do. I can't imagine me sitting and driving round and round. By the way it is sad that we have to resort to such methods because of the game economy

But where is the fun in driving something that you are guaranteed to win, when your reason for the choice of cars is not driving but the rewards? I dont see why you desperatly want to do it on every track and need to convince others this would be better than earning money the easy way.

Becouse racing the same track and car over and over again is boring in my opinion

in my opinion
And there we are again ;)
We dont need to convince anyone of the wrongs of their opinion - simply because there is no wrong.
Just dont do it if you dont like it, other will continue if they think its fun or advantageous, and neither side will have to confront the other for anything that they dont like to see, because not taking part is not only possible in single player activities but actually the only way.
You dont lose your fun of driving all tracks when someone else spends his time in a moneyloop on a specific other track.

I only have around 100 NSX rally cars left to sell. Without this glitch, I'm going to go broke soonTM.

I have around the same amount of old red mercs/amgs... after the engine glitch/script went off piste one night:D

Yes, if a player wants to grind in very monotonus, boring way or rubber band their way to millions... who's the victim here.

PD clearly don't like it and no doubt lead with something around games no meant to be played in that spirit, grinding etc...

But you need to make sure you are collector level 50 and have 400% bonus on each track, i cant see the fun wallriding Daytona with abarth over and over again, custom races is massivly better than it was before its just a simply fact, and we can have fun with decent payouts on each track now, you cant really blame pd for fixing a bug with engine swapped cars,
Who told you wallriding was fun? Wasn’t it obvious already that we don’t like going round and round, hence the reason for running scripts and using rubberbands? I’ve already earned a couple hundred million, bought all the cars at the dealerships, so what did I do? I spent a couple of hours doing the daily races in Sport mode instead of doing Sardegna 800 or Sarthe 700 over and over again. Had a blast, can’t count the numerous times I laughed at the turn 1 pileup at each race at Sardegna, or everytime the car infront of me crashes goes wide and hits the wall at that bend on the main straight.

Good for you, i dont care about sport mode races, i have more blast with single player, and things going in the right direction in that catogory, each to their own i guess,

That's a shame, I was enjoying setting races like that at different tracks and setting the Tomahawks max speed close to mine. It was earning a lot of credits at different tracks. Hopefully they leave the payouts at a somewhat decent level. What they'll probably do is find a way for the payouts to be based on your cars current PP, rather than stock PP. At least, that would make some sense if they were to do that.

If that's the case, then why did it take them over a year to change anything from a "grinding" standpoint? They had multiple chances to increase payouts or add events that rival the 3 unicorn events that paid more money.

This is the best one, but does glitch out after an hour and a bit for me.
i’ve had that problem but yesterday I reset the PS5 and it worked flawlessly for 12 hours until the daily marathon reset. This morning it was glitching out after an hour and I reset the PS5 and it was still working after two hours when i left the house … i shall see if it is still running ok later on.

Like I said before. I doubt the fix is to stop grinding. It’s just to fix the Sophy races - which unfortunately has the consequence of making custom race payout calculations use the tune pp and not the stock pp

Exactly.

To my knowledge Kaz has never been asked that... or at least his answer has never reached the public domain.

The 400% payout increase should be plenty without the glitch. I dropped Forza and went back to GT7 after this update and the game is fun again for SP races.

Grinding will never go away. Technically, any race after you beat the menu books is grinding. I'm just baffled it took them this long to add the 400% bonus payout. Glitch aside, nobody should be complaining about low payouts now.

I misunderstood your post. I thought you were complaining about people grinding the new money glitch.

Another on the plus side is, the wear and tear normally grinding races would produce on my wheel and pedals is not a thing. For however long this lasts anyway.

I just use the good ol' PSN AFK on a laptop I have kickin' around. The only way to block that would be to fully remove PSN Remote Play. I usually have my credits maxxed out at 101mil basically 24/7.

I came here only to post this exact same thing. It's a shame that the users of this game have to find such odd combos, glitches, and rubberbands on their controllers so the computer can drive in circles for hours just so said users can buy the cars in the game.

Shame, shame, shame.

My controller is on a Spidermand 2 and Mario Wonder cover , so 2 CD covers is more than enough.
TCS2, all assist on.
Make sure that off track cars gets automatically moved to the track, that is a race setting.
Nerf the Tomahawks to the lowest speed possible, with gearing, you have to adjust each gear several time.
Get them some Heavy Wets for those corners so they are slow.
In my experience keeping the hawks slow is key. I get clean most of the time in 30 lap races.
For more speedy grind you can map the nitro button to L1 and use a rubber band, but that is only useful with short races and requires more attention.

I did try with upping the speed on the hawks to avoid to many overtakes, but i saw them racing more than before.. so.. nerf´d
Don't expect any patch before the usual patch time, that is, this weekend should be free to grind..

Agree on keeping the Tomahawks slow. If you have them at 250km/h or so, they will get a slipstream and pull out to try to overtake, and they will ruin your race if you come across them at the wrong time. I have them geared to do 45km/h (although I think they are actually doing about 100) and I almost always get the CRB now. Currently at 72 million credits and I’ve spent about 25 million on cars.

I just use one game case to maintain my PS4 controller at a very tiny angle. My Abarth usually sits in 3rd gear at approximately 300km/h, but if I use nitrous, it’ll change up to 4th and can hit about 370 on the back straight.

It'll be interesting to see how it's nerfed. I used to do this method before the Update improved payouts because if I have to race at Tokyo in the rain again I can't be held responsible for what comes next :P

Hopefully whatever they do won't nerf payouts for other forms of custom races. I'd hope they'll simply make it so the game takes into account the car's current PP rating instead of the stock rating. That way, custom races are still worth setting up in other situations.

I'll just mention here one thing a lot of people might not be aware of. If you go into car settings between each race, the oil won't degrade. You don't have to go into detailed settings, just the top level car settings page seems to be enough. You might have to wait a second for the PP calculation to happen, not sure if it's necessary to wait for that before backing out for it to work.

All signs point to Sophy using the custom race mechanic as well. If they want to encourage the community to race against Sophy (thus increasing the amount of Sophy data they get) they really shouldn't just nerf custom race payouts. I'd wager they'll adjust the logic to better account for the PP of the selected cars. Perhaps they'll factor in the transmission configuration as well, although I read in another comment that might have downstream effects on other mechanics in GT7.
