How I USED to make 5,000,000 credits/hour through Custom Races... using a Fiat. But not anymore.

It depends on your availability to re-start the race. A 200 lap race is only good for 2m credits, but if you're going to be away from your console for 3 hours with no means to re-start the race you may as well run it.
Sure. But as I get 1M credit every 20min, I prefer to switch off the PS5 if I am not available to relaunch. I work from home so the only issue is to stop the task at hand every 20min. Not a problem most of the time.

That's fair dos then, just posting up in case people hadn't considered the longer game plan lol

Shelby Cobra Daytona in the Legends dealer. If anyone is at the 100m credit cap but wants to keep grinding then that's a great investment opportunity 😜
Yeah, I've bought it this morning, also the McLaren, the GT500 and the Lambo, back to rubberbanding now :D

What a farcical situation.. in a good way, but also in a bad way. My PS5 just showed me the price of microtransactions in AUD, 2000000 Cr is $29.95 in AUD + for some reason, a currency exchange fee when I purchase games from the PS store using an aussie credit card in australia from the .au website.... go figure! Anyway, my little Abby equipped with 1 rubber band and a little lump of BluTack has earned over 200million credits since last Tuesday...THAT IS OVER $3000 AUD in MICROTRANSACTIONS.... and I suspect there is thousands of people doing this. This is why I think it has been a deliberate ploy to bump up user stats.... imagine at any business in the world, if your employee accidentally "potentially" cost your company and shareholders millions of dollars in "potential" lost revenue.... when you worked for a company (SONY) hellbent on pushing microtransactions (aka rockstar - GTA 5 online) - you would be marched straight out the door!.. I say it again.. $3000 dollars in microtransaction value I have picked up since last Tuesday... and I am sure I am not the only one.....

I don’t think it’s lost revenue. It’s a bit like those cinema cards. They only save you money if you actually go to the cinema frequently before you bought the card.

Sony haven’t lost any revenue from me as I won’t buy credits for a game.

I guess we'll never know whether it was deliberate or not. One thing is for certain though, they either don't care that much or can't figure out how to fix it, otherwise it would have been done already.

No offense to anyone who has done so, but anyone who has knowingly purchased in-game GT7 Cr. from PSN is a certifiable idiot.

My only concern is that 'anomalies' like this have the potential to make them revise their payouts for Custom Races downwards; which is, of course, the absolute opposite of what they should do.

I'd gladly see them get rid of stupidly/accidentally generous things like this in return for fairer/better payouts in Custom Races across the board.

It should be easy to make it possible to earn 25,000 Cr. a minute (1.5M per hour) in Custom Races without having to rely on zero-competition grinds.

Meanwhile, back to Grindy McGrindface.

It may be a stupid question, but does it really matter if they patch it? If they calculate the payouts based on the PP difference of cars, then it shouldn't become a dramatically smaller payout after the patch, right?

If they patch it so that payouts are based on tuned PP rather than base PP, which is what they imply, this will remain a viable grind. Payouts will be a lot smaller though, the base pp of a non engine swapped Abarth is what, 250? Probably difficult to win the race against Tomahawks with anything much lower than 500pp, and even then you might need to nerf the Tomahawk's PP more than you currently do. I've no doubt the community will find a very good alternative quite quickly though. :D

But we don't have to nerf the Tomahawks, we just adjust their gear ratio so they go stupidly slow. So the calculated PP difference will only be around 250 less.
(Or do gear ratios impact PP? I can't recall.)

I agree although it's twofold because currently

a) they're not using the tuned pp, but also

b) the tuned PP calculation is not taking into account transmission settings (plus others)

I bought Cr when they let us play with the tomahawk glitch part 2. As a form of gratitude from their mistakes, September last year was the last time I was grinding this bad considering I made like 10 million a day(800miles) back the . This method is way easier with less effort but not really feel like spending Cr.s that much. 🤣🤣

The current calculation is the Abarth 595 SS at 172PP vs the Dodge Tomahawk X at 1341PP.

If tuning is taken into account, it'll be the Abarth 595 SS at 553PP vs the Dodge Tomahawk X at 11xxPP (I forget the exact value).

The difference will go from 7.8:1 to just about 2:1, so yes it will become dramatically smaller - probably to about a quarter of the current value (I could check but I don't want to).

With sufficient gearing limitation you might be able to still beat the 1341PP Tomahawk X with the base 172PP Abarth 595 SS (or even a slower car), but it would take at least three times as long and therefore still cut the credits/minute to about a third of the current value, if not less.

Post-patch you'd be more or less looking to mimic the Premium Sports Lounge race at BMB in GT Sport, and find the lowest PP car with the highest straight line speed. It's anybody's guess what that'll be, or what the earning potential will be.

If PD also lowers the prize values for Daytona... 🤷‍♂️

So do we know when the patch is coming, This Thursday 16th
No update has been announced yet.

This is right but we might have to nerf them a bit more if using a slower car. Someone did some initial tests I think but we won't have the best answer until PD forces the community to invest their energy into finding the best option. :D

Is it just me or did PD remove the glitch from their known issues post? I checked both in game and on the website and don't see reference to it anymore. Maybe I'm just blind?

oh yeah... I hope this isn't a bad sign

It's not on the US site, which has been rolled back to November 7th, but it's still on the UK site - and others:

Closing in 40M Cr with my sub-optimal Cappuccino. I'll keep stacking credits for the future cars I will need/want to buy.

For the big guns like the 20M Cr Cobra, I'll wait to win it.

Thanks to this, I’ve been getting all swaps available and in my favorites swaps getting 2 or 3 each for different tunes. Also I’ve been getting lots of my favorites for making custom classes and more. Just run the Abarth to 100 mil, get cars/swaps/upgrades until I reach 90 mil, and repeat the racing towards 100 mil once more, rinse and repeat. Painting all my swapped cars Crimson Ruby red with black Enkei wheels for easy ID when entering the garage (except the R33, Midnight Purple can’t be replaced 😉).

Same here. I bought min 3 of them which has the engine swap. One to keep original, one to swap, one to upgrade w/o swapping. Painting is a good idea, i’ll try that too but i put swapped cars to favorite cars. Easier for me to reach them. Completed all swaps for all cars still have 100m cr :) thanks to fiat

If it's fun it's not grinding anymore.

If PD would fix the bug and diminish the payout on Daytona, no way you would still drive 25 laps around it in an Abarth because you think thats fun. You like the grind because of the payout, that is not what i stated.
In defense of others like me, we grind not ONLY of the payout but to have fun with it, to learn from it, and to improve one's skills. I personally do the "grind" at LeMans regularly and i do so to test out what cars can and cannot do the 30 minute race effectively, I enjoy this "grind" and now there is a different "grind" of the Abarth/RB X2014 at Daytona that is fun and great in payout.
I have been tweaking the parameters of the Abarth run by varying the speed of the AI cars to see how that goes, i have been mixing the AI field with the Tommyhawk and the RB X2014 to see how they mix it up in the race, i've been testing what tyres work the best on the Abarth [SS fronts and RS rears], there are many thing to try out and learn from...

curious tho, I want to know how many are "hands on" in this race over those that are "AFK" with a rigged controller?
also would like to know what is your fastest lap in the Abarth? My best was 43.329

You can beat a 1358 Tomahawk with a 393 Abarth 595 no problem, it will still give over 2m per hour if the only change they make is to use the actual PP of the cars in the race.
