How I USED to make 5,000,000 credits/hour through Custom Races... using a Fiat. But not anymore.

Closing in 40M Cr with my sub-optimal Cappuccino. I'll keep stacking credits for the future cars I will need/want to buy.

For the big guns like the 20M Cr Cobra, I'll wait to win it.
I’m only at $34M because I only have time once in awhile to run in the evening but I’m trying. Lol. My goal is $100 but who knows if I’ll get there. Better than the few hundred thousand I was at.

In defense of others like me, we grind not ONLY of the payout but to have fun with it, to learn from it, and to improve one's skills.
Yes but that is purely because of the payout.

You're not improving your skills in a kart around LeMans. It's specifically races with good payouts. Without payout no one would do it anymore.

I also grinded on Spa, Sardegna and LeMans and spiced things up to keep things interesting. But it's still a grind.

Im going to just for the 3 big ticket items I don't own the Cobra Daytona Coupe '64, Mercedez 300 SL (W194) '52 and the Alfa 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta '38, if the Cobra can be made into wide-body car then I may get two ';). I know the Ferrari 250 can be made into a wide car also but that car is like 3 months away as it was in the dealership in October, I do wonder why they stuck to this rotating dealership, feeding everyone's fomo. PD just give us more big paying races, please

I have the Berlinetta passo corto due any day now and the GTO early next year

i am not going to comment any further on this specific subject because if you continue to tell me how i feel about something without knowing me then i have nothing more to say

For me I use 1 butchered tommy opponent and make a custom race. With the setup in the OP and a the shortest gear ratios possible, the tommy is useless on tracks with a lot of turns. This allows me to have fun testing out cars and also get a decent payout for doing it. Which is something I call a "Tommy time trial". Not a bad way to spice things up IMO. Le Mans, Sardegna, and Spa are so 2022... for me anyway. 😄

It's not on the US site, which has been rolled back to November 7th, but it's still on the UK site - and others:

I swear I saw this in the video game as well I saw it on the found issues through the game and now they rolled it back to November 7th. 🤔🤔 the websites I understand but for some reason on the US game it disappeared. I just did three races back to back with no changes to the payout 🤣🤣

I got 100mill credits plus bonus XJ13 & macf1gtr as sellable items. There are 4 cars I had chosen not to bother with in GT7 - the 250GTO, Mac F1, 330 P4 & 917K - in fact the only 20mill car I own is the Cobra Daytona, but because of little Abby, I think I will now get at least 3 of those puppies :) happy days

+30M in the bank tonight (added to the 20M from saturday, which I already have spent) never been so rich in GT7
yesterday, i took the funds from 92M up to 100M (after buying a bunch of 2008 Super GT cars to make my own custom race), then i bought the macf1 gtr and XJ13 from hagerties (for future resale) so that took my 100M down to 73M (this was about 2pm) and by midnight my little rubberbanded Abigail had earned 27M to get back to 100M - not bad - 6hrs play time but with RL factors, i.e. picking up daughter from school, taking her to guitar lessons, cooking dinner for family, etc, etc.. still managed to easy collect 40M+ in a day - and THEN I won a $9000 carbon prop shaft from a 6 STAR ticket - what a joke - but I smiled at that roulette wheel and then went and ran another race at Daytona :D

Pages and pages ago there was a tune and setting idea that gave you 500350cr for a ~6min race, with lap times of 37.5s.
It was in the Beetle set to 9 laps.

If you’re short on time or the 20minute races aren’t appealing you should have a look.
I can’t remember the user who originally posted the tune but I’ll track the post down if you want to see it….(unless said user is reading this and wants to repost :P)

Oh. I’m happy with whatever I get. I just get stuck doing other stuff, 3 kids, wife, darn work. Lol so I’m thrilled I can rubberband my controller snd try and get back in the 23 minutes to start it over.

Everyone’s out here making their best effort, ya love to see it haha. I work nights and when I get home I have maybe 15 minutes to spare, so I’ll get two runs in if I’m feeling up to it :)

Here’s that tune if anyone’s interested:

I made some changes to someone's Beetle setup, and the result is 535,800 Cr in 5 mins 40. 37.4/37.5 laps without slipstream.

Porsche engine swap. No widebody. Settings are at the end. It's 9 laps because you run out of nitrous as you enter the trioval at the end of lap 9.

Almost forgot I did this accidentally:

err, I mean my uncle works at the Gran Turismo factory and I got a hot tip

I was so excited to test the F1 GTR, forgot I had motion steering controls on 😂 quickly realized I can’t control cars without the left stick 😅 did I miss out on anything special with the Barker? I kept debating but couldn’t pull the trigger!

You're only missing out if you're a fan of the era, and not so much the car itself seeing as it's the only '20s car in the entire series. For events it can't really be used for much outside of custom races and time trials... however it drives great (for a near-100-year-old car that is) and sounds on-par with what you'd expect from a 1920s car. Lots of Mafia 1 feels from driving it.

You know exactly what you're here for... it's money-makin' time. 😎

Disclaimer - this "exploit" is entirely reliant on a few select engine swaps, so if you're missing those, you're pretty much out of luck. Here are a few of the cars that are viable for this trick:

  • Abarth 595 with K20 swap
  • Willys Jeep with Hellcat swap
  • Volkswagen 1200 or SambaBus with M64/03 swap

The reason these vehicles are suitable is because the game bases the payout of Custom Races on your vehicle's stock PP, which flies completely out of the window once engine swaps get involved. You may have noticed that when applying the Random grid option, the game fills the grid with cars of a similar level to a stock version of the car you're driving, even if you've upgraded it to its utmost limits - the same system applies to the payouts as well.

As for your car's tune, you'll need a setup that is both fast on straights, and stable in corners. This trick is mainly focused on oval tracks, such as Route X, Daytona and Northern Isle (Daytona provides the best results), so make sure your tune is capable of taking on banked turns. For reference, here is the tune I use for my Abarth:

View attachment 1247966

Once you've got your car swapped and kitted out, you're gonna need to get out your Tomahawk X (if you've got one; if you don't, just grab one for a million - you'll be making it back soon enough anyway), which naturally provides the highest payout, being the highest-PP opponent possible. You'll need to apply the following tune to it:

View attachment 1247967
View attachment 1247968

This tune utterly destroys the Tomahawk's speed and handling potential, thus rendering it an ineffective opponent. Next, go to Daytona Tri-Oval, and begin creating a Custom Race.

In the settings screen, the only settings you'll need to adjust are those that affect your money-making potential. These are as follows:

Race Type - Lap
No. of Laps - 25 or lower (as that is where diminishing returns start to kick in)
No. of Cars - 20
Starting Grid - 20
Start Type - Rolling Start (gets you up to speed quicker)
Boost - Off
Nitrous Usage Time Multiplier - 10.0x
Rival Difficulty - Professional Level

Next, go to your grid settings, and fill the grid with your newly neutered Tomahawks. Once all this is done, you're pretty much ready to race!
Simply make sure you avoid hitting any opponents (wallriding is fine) and you should be good to go. With each lap averaging around 44-45 seconds in the Abarth, and each lap awarding 39,700 credits (59,550 with the clean race bonus) I managed to make a whopping 4.8 million credits per hour.

An utterly unprecedented result for sure. I look forward to seeing how some of you may optimise this grind even further, and perhaps even write a script for it!
So I followed this and apparently I only get 595k? I'm not using a wide body either.

What a farcical situation.. in a good way, but also in a bad way. My PS5 just showed me the price of microtransactions in AUD, 2000000 Cr is $29.95 in AUD + for some reason, a currency exchange fee when I purchase games from the PS store using an aussie credit card in australia from the .au website.... go figure! Anyway, my little Abby equipped with 1 rubber band and a little lump of BluTack has earned over 200million credits since last Tuesday...THAT IS OVER $3000 AUD in MICROTRANSACTIONS.... and I suspect there is thousands of people doing this. This is why I think it has been a deliberate ploy to bump up user stats.... imagine at any business in the world, if your employee accidentally "potentially" cost your company and shareholders millions of dollars in "potential" lost revenue.... when you worked for a company (SONY) hellbent on pushing microtransactions (aka rockstar - GTA 5 online) - you would be marched straight out the door!.. I say it again.. $3000 dollars in microtransaction value I have picked up since last Tuesday... and I am sure I am not the only one.....
I really don't think anyone other than a few whales at the beginning of the game has ever seriously bought microtransactions to be honest.

Part of that is the insane price, as you say. Part of it is also PD doing about the worst job imaginable at pushing microtransactions - there's the one "top up at PS store" link, in about 8pt font, on the price confirm modal that everyone just mashes through anyway, and that's about it. Contrast with something like NBA 2K, where the title screen and every third screen in-game seems to have a big "buy VC here!" nag button. Also, the stuff that's really expensive in the LCD doesn't really help you win at the game either (in fact, the McLaren F1 race cars, the only super expensive Gr. cars, are among the worst cars in their respective classes even before they added the rent mechanic to Sport Mode) so there's no real pay to win motivation either.

If PD did design the game around generating microtransactions, they did a really, really poor job of it. I just hope the takeaway from Sony isn't "we need GT to generate more money so we need microtransaction to be more intrusive in GT8".

Wait do you just have to gold the Circuit Experience of the track you’re running on or is it you need to gold every Circuit Experience?

I don't have golded Daytona but I have completed the CE there (mix of gold silver and bronze). And I don't have completed all CE, nor golded more than 50%.

How many laps have you selected?

That's exactly the payout you should get for 15 laps, and it bumps up to 892k with the Clean Race Bonus.
