19, turning 20 on new years (yep...how lucky I am), and played GT since GT1. That's pretty much what got me into cars and racing. Who would've thought a game could influence ones life so much

I'm 31 and I've played to Gran Turismo the first day of release back in 1998.

Bought GT2 first day of release also and have had on of the best race gaming moments.

But came some pretty good games like MSR on Dreamcast and Porsche Unleashed on PC that made me quit the GT series.

Then I bought an Xbox and enjoyed PGR2 very much.

Then I went back in the GT serie with GT4 (bought a PS2 for it) but I did not enjoy it, felt the game was not to the same level of the first GT and realised many other racing games were doing things better (sounds, gameplay, online).

So went back to Xbox with Forza Motorpsort, and got a Xbox 360 with Forza 2 and 3, PGR3 and 4, TDU, etc...

I've played GT5P with the dualshock and the G25 but was not impressed by the gameplay, but was shocked by the horrible sounds and collisions.
In car view was the only "OMG"

I hope I will like the GT series again with GT5 as it looks very promising even I'm scared with the too many standard cars...

Nice topic! I'm 27 now, played GT2 for the first time in 2005 (I've never had an PS, got one borrowed for a couple of months) and GT4 in 2006 when I bought my PS2. I've got my PS3 early this year mainly because of GT5, can't wait to play it!

I'm 24. Played and completed every single Gran Turismo except for GTPSP.. I remember when my brother first got GT1, we played all night till the sun came up.

38, played them all except PSP since 1998. Never felt anticipation like this about any of them tho!! Make the most of it when you get a copy folks, it will be a long long long time until GT6. I hope to be living in the Czech republic by then!

41 played every gran turismo .. didnt rate psp version i still own gran turismo 2,3,4 and 5 prologue .. greatest game series of all time and GT5 is the game ive got most excited about ever , nearest to this was Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 2 and that was delayed a few times

im 26.

back in 1998 i think a week or two after gran turismo 1 was released, my dad bought me a playstation. he said: pick a game, a game that you can play a long time. and i picked gran turismo based only on the fact that my dad said: how about this, this could be fun?
else i would have prolly gotten tekken 2 or something (later i got tekken 3 though :P)
never got to play gran turismo 2... but i got the 3rd and the 4th 2nd hand after i bought my ps3 back in '05

I'm 41 and I played every GT apart GT5 prologue. I currently play GTPSP waiting impatiently the GT5. Gentlemen, start your engines!!!

I'm 18, and I started with GT2 when I was little. It was one of my first games after Sonic on the Genesis, but I didn't know what I was doing or how to get the awesome Dodge Concept so I quit. I remember trying the first license test over and over, the sound at "START" still haunts me. I got back into it with GT4 around last year and have every important GT (1,2,3,4), plus GTPSP, and am now waiting for 5 with a new G27 in the closet.

I'll be 28 in a month. I've been playing Gran Turismo since day one on the original Playstation. I've bought every major GT game on it's release day, and still own my original purchased copies of GT, GT2, GT3, GT4, GT5P, and GTPSP. If they'll actually release more games, I'll keep buying them.

I'm 14...
I started with GT2 but i was too young to even know what is the game about :D, than i bought PS2, GT4 and logitech g25... and im addict to it so far.
Now i have to wait for the GT5 to arrive to Slovakia and buy PS3 :) And than pick up a Caterham or GT-R and drive all the night around the Nordshliefe :)

First played GT1 at a friend whose older brother owned a ps1. Gt3 was the first gt-game I bought and it was already platinum then. So not a fan of the series from day one, only because i was so ignorant...
I remember though back then I thought it was the best looking game i had ever seen and videogames couldn't get any more beautiful than gt3. But I guess that's what we're gonna say soon about GT5 too:)

I am 32 and live in England.

It seems like Gran Turismo has been in my life quite a while now.
GT 1
I had a PS when they first came out, and bought GT when it was released. It was amazing!! Had lots of fun playing it against uni mates.
GT2
I was on an Industry Year Out from my studies when GT2 came out. I happened to be off sick that day, I walked to the local shops and brought it. I remember opening the box to find a leaflet mentioning that the GT disc smelled of racing!! It certainly smelt strange. This was heaven x2: Gindelwald, Motorland & Pikes Peak. . Shame they have not been seen again since ? WHY IS THAT PD!!
GT3
I was working in Austria for my first job after University. The PS2 had come out and there was the Gran Turismo pack. I saved up, and cycled to the nearst big town and bought my PS2 Gran Turismo pack. I had the PS2 box in a plastic bag hanging off my handle bars. I remember feeling so pleased, one point I lost concentration and cycled off the road, I made sure I did not fall off and send my new PS2 to the ground! I must admit, I was disapointed with GT3 A-Spec, where were all the cars after GT2 and some of the best tracks missing. I guess PD needed another 3 years to develop it :-)
GT4
This is around the time I joined this forum.
I think we were all waiting on tenderhooks, Amar was feeding us tasty information.
I thought it was so cool when the NIKE concept car was found. Someone on the forum noticed something like Morse Code dots on the side, they then translated it to the designer's name and found out who it was (or something like that, it was a while ago).
GT5 Prologue
I resisted buying this straight away as I thought GT5 would be out 'soon'. How stupid I was!! Anyhow i bought it later off ebay 2nd hand. Good gfx, but I want GT5.

I have made a frame for my DFGT. Just need GT5 now!! My girlfriend is getting fed up with me talking about GT :nervous:

I'm 21 and I first played GT1 in 1998 when my dads friend lent me a bunch of games, I was hooked immediately.

Since then I have owned or played on

GT1
GT2
GT3
GT4
GT5p
GTPSP
GTHD
GT Academy Time Trial

And also played one of the weird concept ones... all I can remember is it had cars that wagged their tales? Can anyone fill me in on that one?

 huh? There was a title listed on Gamefaqs for a while called "Gran Turismo for Kids"... maybe? Still, wagging tails on cars seems like GT sacrilege to me!

They weren't literally tails! haha

They were more like sticks which had a light on I think. they stood up and lit green when accelerating, and wagged and turned red when braking? I swear I played a game with this...

There it is! Concept tokyo 2002. Although the tails appear to have a mind of their own!

I am 32 and played GT since the japanese release of the very first one... i am getting old *sob*

Never got the peripheral games though, portable or Concept/Prologue
I invested my time only on the main serie.

Im 37 and ive been there from the beginning. :)

Its been a loooong ride, but here we are now with GT5 imminent (apparently). Each incarnation has been a stepup from the previous one i believe. Some say GT3 was the weaker one, but id disagree with that.

Licence tests are still around, and some will be fustrating as always no doubt. The graphics are all in HD now and look superb. A far cry from the pixelated GT1. If you boot up GT 1 2 or 3 you may look at it now and kinda laugh. But man, dont let those pixelated cars and tracks fool you, as there is some great gameplay in those said games. GT4 improved again on the graphics and sound in my opinion.

Its kinda sad that compared to GT5P, GT4 looks ugly (on a HD TV anway), but again there is so much inside the game, that i think im still at around 75% complete or something. I didnt/dont get to play everyday like some do, as life well, just got in the way like it does...............damn real life huh??. Moving from England to the USA. Getting married, loosing wife to liver disease, and then just recently getting married again. I actually told her that if you marry me you marry GT as well

Lets just hope that GT5 is all that we want it to be. Like always though there will be some dissapointments for some im sure. Some of their favourite cars wont be in, or a certain feature of the game wont.

All in all from what ive seen of the leaked videos, (hmmm were they really leaked?) i think we will have another great game to consume our lives for the next 4-5 years until GT6 comes. Then we will be all here, bitching, and running down Sony and PD, all the while waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for an OFFICIAL WORD OF RELEASE...............i could go on but i wont .

Ive had some great times with Gran Turismo, and as long as my heart keeps beating, i will be enjoying.

I'm 19 and I started with GT3 but I remember seeing GT1 in a store and I was like "This game looks fantastic!" I judged the game from the box .. the big red/blue GT but I didn't buy it because I didn't had my own PS .. I hated PS that time because I was a big fan of Genesis/SNES :D

I started with GT3 when my bro let me drive Toyota Supra around that big test course to make money. When I first played the game .. "Wow .. very smooth" I felt the car was very smooth unlike arcade games where you can't steer where you want at that time even though I was a kid and I have no idea how I liked the game from the handling. I think I played GT3 5 or 6 times from the beginning but I couldn't finish it by 100%.

So I played:

GT3: A Spec (US)
GT3: A Spec (EU)
GT Concept
GT4P .. Heh .. what a game
GT4: JP/Asian Version?
GT4: US
GT4: EU
GT5P
GTPSP
GT: Time Trial
GT5: 2 Minute Trial!!

20 years old,
And I have been in the game since 1997 when the first GT was released; and have played all the Primary releases in North America since then, and of course including the secondary release GT5P
