How old will you be when Gran Turismo 5 is expected to release?

Didn't you have to be 13 to join this forum?

That darn new math will get ya every time

This is me being told a new videogame called Gran Turismo had arrived on something called a Playstation, which some people referred to as a console apparantly.

I think that's how most of us will look when the game is released and the amount of wrinkled skin corresponds to the number of delays.

30 in January. GT and Armored Core are the best thing to ever happen to consoles.

I feel "Past my prime" I think my gaming has started to get worse though I managed all gold in GT5P and all S rating in Armored Core FA.

One of these years I won't be able to do either then I'll start cooking :)

What's 30?
Luigi Fagoli was 53 when he won the French GP in 1951.
Fangio was 47 when he became World Champion in 1957.
Al Shepherd was 47 when he commanded Apollo 14 to the moon. His second mission after that spacehop with Freedom7 in 1961.
So I choose to look at it the Lloyd-way: There may only be one chance in a million, but there is still a chance. Yeah.

GT4: 15 and GT5: 20!
The gaps for releases are getting larger. If their next release is going to be way down the line, PD better have found some way to simulate G-forces by then.

I really don't play video games nearly as much as I used to anymore. Career and relationship stuff has completely reduced the amount of time that I have for them and my own changing and evolving tastes have made me much harder to please. The recuring video game theme of shooting people in the face has gotten quite tired for me. I can no longer play games like Halo, Modern Warfare, Gears of War, etc. because I find them boring.

It's been a couple of years since I stopped ritualistically purchasing EA sports titles with each season and there are very few action/adventure/role playing games that I go for these days. Portal was pretty cool and I'm looking forward to the sequel. Also the new Deus Ex game had me quite intrigued and in recent years, the Mass Effect games have been very satisfying.

Overall, I have maybe purchased 10 video games over the last 4 years. I really feel like GT5 is sort of going to be my 9th symphony when it comes to gaming. I know that I will be absorbed in that game for months and it will probably be the last game that I get into like that (unless gaming really evolves in a way that I cannot forsee).

I'm picking up F1 2010 in a couple of days as an appetizer. Been looking forward to that one too. This is probably the twighlight of my gaming career but it's going to be glorious! I just got my first steering wheel and I have a nice sized HDTV now as well so at least I'm going out with a bang!

I was 16 when the original GT came out in the US, and I worked my butt off mowing grass so that I could get it on launch day.

I got GT2 and GT4 on the US launch day, so do the math.

I got GT3 in Novmeber 2001. I didn't get it on launch day because I didn't have a PS2 yet. I got the PS2/GT bundle as an early Christmas present, and I was 20.

I just turned 27 when GT5P was launched in the US, but didn't get it until June because that is when I found a good deal on a 60gig PS3.

I will be 29 when GT5 launches, and it will be in my hands on launch day (I have taken the rest of the week off work too).

I shall be 39.

I want to show you younger members a video.

This is what we used to play back in the early 1980s. Can you imagine what its like for us oldies to be playing the likes of GT5.

I think some people don't understand how far games have come. I remember playing a racing game on my Atari 2600 called Enduro or something like that. I thought it was great at the time:)

Agreed. What I also find fasinating is how the production of video games has changed immensly. For example Manic Miner was developed by 1 person (Matthew Smith) and was written in the space of 6 weeks. Even the likes of Codemasters started out by the Darling brothers who wrote games in their bedrooms.

Sorry if im being off topic but I want the younger members to see how video games have changed. Also to me the likes of Matthew Smith are legends in my eyes because its them who made video games become popular.

I'll be 15, and 16 in December. Don't just overlook me because I've got 9 years of kart racing experience now and pose a serious threat

I will be 33 at release. And it is nice to know that i am not the only 30+ around here. We indeed know the great games (Lotus and Supercars) and cars from the time that we were small boys playing in the garden with our toys 635i, Countach, 928 (bad example) etc.

Things have come a long way, that's for sure. I think some younger people take things for granted. I know Gt5 won't be "perfect". But I think it will be the best racing game we have seen.👍

Weird stuff.

At GT4 release I was not yet graduated, had long hair and was quitting my pilot carreer to follow computing.

Now I'm 32, with a post-degree and also... i'm a father.

Wow, congrats. How things can change in a five year span!
