Yes this is a serious question, but when I'm talking about Karting I'm talking about this:

So why I bring this up? Well for starters the GT games are known to include "suprises", ex. being the introduction of open-wheel cars, SUV's, trucks, etc. Secondly from observation the GT games do have a few Kart-friendly tracks e.g., Motorland, Mid-Field, Seoul, Motegi(short), etc., and finally many pro-drivers do Kart

So question is, how would you feel if PD suprised us with karting in GT5?

+1

Senna was a Kart racer, enough said.

As was nearly every racing driver thats ever existed in the past 40 years  doesn't make it that special.

They would have to implement brand new tracks so it will never happen. A Kart on a fully fledged race track is silly.

I'm not having a go at the OP but you've got to think about the bigger picture.

More=merrier, would add to the sort of potential online career aspect, work your way up from karting to JGTC or Indy or NASCAR or WRC or (insert numerous other series) ala iRacing.

I would welcome it with open arms! I participate in Karting events in real life, with my CRG 125cc Leapord. For moments like now… when I’m sitting in front of the computer suffering from a cracked rib cage from the last race meeting, I could be practicing on the Playstation instead. 👍

Tracks should not be so hard to recreate, considering they are much smaller then Racecar tracks.

Would not mind,I would love to see these cars in GT5 though

(I race one of these)(Bandolero)

(Legends Cars)

Plus,If they inculde Charlotte type track,You got at least 5 or 6 tracks for these cars in the game

Well not really when consider the GT already to have some Kart-friendly tracks(I mentioned this initially) and the fact Kart racing have been done on major road courses..

I don't know about you, but that looks pretty darn fun. Actually, go karts hold the lap time record around Infineon...

EDIT: AND Infineon has a super cool go-kart track!

The karts would be so very cool. Even if we only get one mini-track with a couple lay outs. It'd be cool if they were worked in to an early round of license tests before you really get started with larger cars. I'd like it 👍

As long as you can throw banana peels and throw turtle shells sure.

On a serious not I think they would be a blast as long as you aren't racing a car.:nervous:

Purple Shells FTW.

It might become too much fun for me to step up from it.

Same here. Give everyone the perfect car straight out the gate, and there won't be any reason to drive anything else...

Oooooh... do we get added body-movement controls like in Tourist Trophy? That would be so awesome.

Man... it's been too long since I've gotten into a kart...

Karting would be an amazing edition. A couple of of outdoor tracks and some indoor cicuits too. Many international tracks have karting tracks located around or in the centre of the circuit so making environments shouldn't be too difficult to achieve. It would be another feature that would lure me towards buying a PS3 in order to play GT5.

You're not wrong!

I would be delighted if karting was in GT5 (I own a Haase Future with a 125cc Parilla Leopard and used to run nationals with it). I'd be really impressed if they could nail the handling.

I think it would be great if karting was in GT5, I mean they could model one kart with say 8-16 different liveries, and in GT Mode the small tracks would obviously be used for Karting.. but nobody is stopping you from taking karts to the 'Ring. ;)

I think it would be a great addition though, if PD nailed the handling.

I think they might as well include lawn mower racing if we are going to throw all kinds of stuff in there.

Yeah, but karting is the grass roots of modern motor racing. Which contemporary racing driver hasn't cut his racing teeth in karting at some level? This is a reason for including it over other forms of racing.

There were the Honda carts in TOCA 3 and those were pretty awesome. AND they managed to race on a lot of normal tracks without problem, I seem to remember. Probably one of the best racing series in the game, both for fun, accessibility and skill.

16-player online cart race around motorland? Hell yeah!

While we're talking about tiny baby kart, how about the Aussie Racing Cars? Those tiny, mini-car things that go 4-wide around tight corners and 5-wide around everything else.

Go-Karts are the most visceral form of race-car. Unassisted steering, unassisted brakes, nothing between you and the tarmac but the thin plastic shell of the kart's seat.

It's telling that Senna, Schumacher, Hamilton and many others started as Kart champions... and it's one of the most popular forms of motorsports around the world. Serious go-karts are faster, point-to-point, than most sportscars.
