Anyway... I will be in Turtle Town tonight at 8pm to practice... I'd love to host but I am afraid that I will have connection issues just like what happened last Saturday and Sunday...

RE: my connection issues... please help

I am wired in directly to the modem/router provided by my ISP (Rogers for those in Canada). My wife also uses the internet (via WiFi) the same time I play. No other device connected to the internet other than the PS3 and a laptop. I always reset the modem and clear my cache everytime before I play. Is there anything I can do to improve my set up?

When I get disconnected during a race... I am not disconnected from PSN. Does that mean anything?

Have you tried speediest.net to verify what speed and ping you are getting? Try it and post your results. Also, from the XMB menu, you can do a connection test, post those results as well. I think it will give us a good platform to make suggestions.

Getting disconnected from the room, but not PSN I believe is attributed to a drop in speed, or lowered NAT rating. It could be a momentary drop due to beginning to stream a movie on an iPad for example. I also went through these issues earlier in the month. My wide uses an iPad with Netflix while I race. We upgraded our speed from 12 to 24 (I started in TRL at 3), and I have not had a connection issue yet.

Thanks Jay! What do you mean by upgraded your speed from 12 to 24 and how? Sorry... I am really bad at these networking stuff.

I called my ISP and asked what speeds were available in my area. 3mbps is where I started, it was $35 a month. Then when I started racing, I was getting disconnected, so we called and upgraded to 12mbps at 54.99 a month. Recently, I realized that the new disconnects happened when my wife was watching TV on the iPad, I called and found out that 24mbps was available, and for 44.99 a month.

I'd call your provider, get prices on faster speed, and tell them you are shopping their competitors as well.

I am excited to race on Thursday! It will be my last chance to improve my results for this series... in the meantime... I am also looking for a muscle car to run next month...

I have found that the Chevrolet 69 Camaro and the 69 Vette have been the fastest that I have tested, but I still need to test a couple standard cars to see what they have to offer. The Camaro was the fastest of the two but the vette handles so well.So just depends on the driving style and tune, I would expect.

Good Evening Turtles, I wanted to clear the air about what happened because there have been a few questions. In short, a complaint was filed about Thursday evenings race. I reviewed the replay, and also took feedback from the other stewards regarding the incident. When I PM'd Busted about what happened, he took offense to my response and shared the content of the PM in the forum and added his feelings. A mod must have either asked him to remove the post, or removed it for him.

It was not my intent to offend anyone, but unfortunately, that's what happened.


Moving forward, I hope this is a one time event and we can move on. I've raced in the Turtle League for almost a year now, I've stewarded at least 50 races and reviewed quite a few. I've never had an issue like this arise in all of that time. I hope you all know my intentions are well meaning and I look forward to continuing to race with you all!

1.27's at deep forest and I haven't even picked a car for next month. Guess ill concentrate on that early Sunday morning and pick myself one out. I've been really busy this week and last. What times are you running at deep forest phish?

Choosing a muscle car is quite a challenge... learning to drive it around turns is quite a handful!

I would guess that you will bring a Cuda!

Remember to reset your modem/router which ever one you use and clear your in game system cache to help with disconnect problems. Don't want to get 30 laps in and get disconnected.

Watch out for the penalty at turn 3. Try to stay off the concrete. Two wheels slightly on you'll be ok but I wouldn't chance it.

Remember to change your oil if you need to before you join the room. Don't want to have to leave to do it. Don't know about the rest of you but my load times are pretty long.

We will be pitting tonight so have yourself a pit strategy worked out.

Remember the turn 1 rule,race clean and let's have fun. See you guys tonight.

What paint chip is a primer color jay? Also while I was looking at the muscle cars this morning I realized its a real shame and I think I should say sac religious that pd doesn't offer the craiger wheel for these great lookin American muscle cars.

The Chevelle I had when I was 16 had craiger wheels. Not HKS- llc3 or whatever some of our ugly wheel choices are. A real shame!

I liked the specs on my "Dom" car. Was going to test it first before the vettes. I'll probably wind up just letting my daughter pick which one she thinks looks the best. Im curios how the Shelby will stack up.
