Or....they could just stick a V8 in the azera, hyundais "First" serious flagship sedan that replaced the XG... aparently people like the sonata more then it, but it is alot larger...which gives me a great poll idea.

Neither. Because then you'd have cross-competition with the Genesis 4-door. Bad.

They need some sort of sporting vehicle with the V8, though. Even just stiffening the chassis on the GenSedan.

I thought the Azera was discontinued.

Possibly, but it's not likely for a year at least.

The '09 Azera just hit these shores this summer. It's the first mid-model change to the car, albeit a very mild one (improved front shocks, tinkering with interior trim, and a new saddle interior color choice, As well as auto leveling HID lights.

The Azera is a small seller, but its already small numbers in this country haven't tanked lately as much as some of its big sedan competitors. It fills a gap in Hyundai's lineup between the Sonata and the Genesis, and Hyundai still hopes its sales benefit by a trickle-down from Genesis admirers who want to pay a little less.

But you'll get satisfaction and the brand itself ;)

Here in Malaysia, the GTI costs something like MYR 120k so instead of spending 70k for a Hyundai that has a little bit of problem with it's reliability, better get the GTI which is far better IMO :)

How old is that GTI of yours?

Last I checked the a new GTI is RM200K versus a new getz at RM70K
Thats why I said more than double.

I don't own any GTI...

I know when i checked in their website, it can get up to MYR2OOk but I checked through NAZA Motor because my dad has a friend right there and also he was looking for that car, IDK what year but he told my dad that he can get the car for MYR120k. Or maybe you can find another solution, Volkswagen Polo GTI priced at MYR138,888 through NAZA Motor. My neighbour have the Getz 2 years ago and he always had problems with the engine reliability and kept complaining to my dad that the car is bad. He sold the car already and unfortunately that car got no used car value so after that IDK what happened to the car.

Haha.....I was half expecting you to say that. No, by-passing the cost of AP via a friend favour does not count.

If it was 120k, every ali, muthu and ah beng would be getting that instead of a civic 2.0

More importantly, the Azera is heavily Sonata-based, and it is also sold worldwide, so it isn't as if it costs too much to make.

 Hahaha!! Anyway, if Hyundai can do a V8 and make a car something like an M3, then they're in the game but price, reliability and the quality must set to the standard. If it's expensive but with reliability like a GTI or maybe Honda, then I'll take it!!

Rumors from hyundai of a 5.0 supercharged V8 for a upcoming AMG/M killer... I have no doubts they could do this... If they pulled 385 from a 4.6 liter V8...No telling how much they could get from a 5.0 with a supercharger....

There's already a supercharged Tau. It got more horsepower and better fuel economy than the standard 4.6L. It was only a demo unit though.

Well then, AMG and M might have a bit of a problem on their hand, I test drove a 4.6 genesis today and, Well... all i had to do was push the gas in a little bit just to see where hyundai was back then, and where and how far they have come now, It was astonishing. It's almost amazing that they could have went the way of the yugo. But no, they stuck it out..came up in just 4 years, Went from tinkering with puny 1 liter 3-4 cylinders to Big Powerful shouty V8's. .....It's honestly mind boggling.
