Chronos I think thats nearly gone unawnsered as much as my online question, but from info on the other NFS shift thread I can't confirm it but it has been widley reported that there IS clutch suport and 900deg wheel suport! But I don't have the game so thats just from press releases and interviews.....right tell me about online support Chronos...come on, fair is fair. LOL

You may find the majority of people with the game if not all are 360 owners and it only suports the MS wheel on the 360 so they will be unable to tell you about wheel suport other than that of the 360 wheel.

G25 support was answered to be by Berca76 a couple months ago, The G25 is supported (clutch H pattern etc). Not 100% sure about PS3 though.

I actually will contend the second point here, because NES games in 1988 were $50 and there was no such modding possible at that time. Today they went up $10 which I believe is inflation related as $50 was the price for 20 years or so now, not related to people modding their consoles.

Actually, $50 to $60 over a 20 year period is far LESS than inflation. If games were going up equally with inflation and no other contributing factors, I'd expect them to be closer to $80 or $90 now. So over the past 20 years, games have either gotten cheaper to make or profit margins are smaller ;)

So I walked into my local game shop today and what do I see, NFS Shift. Not on the pre-order shelf but on new release. Just the same for the 360 and just the same for psp.

I went and checked 4 other retailers in the center. Nobody else is selling shift.

So I picked it up (didn't even bother to try price match incase they picked up they aren't meant to be selling the game, I can always go back if I want at a later date to match it).

I've heard of games coming out 1-3 days before release, but NFS isn't due out for another 9 days here. They also have released Motorstorm for PSP 2 days early. Boy they are going to get their butts kicked.

I'll give some feedback tonight after I get a few hours out of the game.

What? 9 Days!? Thats weird, but please do tell me what game store you go to? :) I'd like to get Shift early as well.

This is the M3 first race. Listen to the sound, the M3 sounds badass:drool:. (Definately not like the pathetic sound in GT5P:lol:) I can't wait to drive with the sound system cranked to the maximum:bowdown:. 15/09/09 2 days to go:sly:.
Why are they driving in third person?! :ouch:

The RX-8 at the end didn't sound right in interior view. It sounded the same as the 3rd person view.:grumpy: GT5P does it better.

just bought the game @ ebgames today, and I have to say I'm impressed! physics is very close to GT5:P when set to pro mode with everything off except for ABS. Oh and it fully supports my G25 force feedback with clutch on.

is this on the ps3? is the g25 feel similar to how it is on GT5p in particular the shifting and use of the clutch, what happens if you dont press the cluth will it refuse to shift gear like in GT5p?

thanks.

also could you give a rough idea of how long you expect the offline gameplay to be for example how long youve been playing and how much % completed.

yes this is on the PS3. G25 feels different from Gran Turismo 5:P, every car has their own FF feeling eg. FWD makes the FF on the G25 heavier, and RWD makes the FF a little bit weaker I haven't tried an AWD car yet.
If you don't press clutch when upshift/downshift the car will shift into neutral for 3 seconds and will automatically engage itself to the gear that you selected but it will be a very untidy shifting and your car will lose a little bit of stability. you can also stall the car if you don't press clutch when you're idle, and the engine will automatically starts again when you press the clutch.

Can you coment on PS3 online options?

What are the race options, is there in-game voice-chat, etc? Thanx in adv.

yeah the online is pretty much what hun showed on that link. I can't really comment on the in game voice chat as I haven't tried connecting my bluetooth headset.

How are the physics for Drifting? Does this game support 900* steering? I really want to pick this up but would like more feedback before i take the plunge.

Just got word from my local game shop... Shift is lying there ready for me... which is weird because I was expecting it on Friday... But oh well... got the PS3 version so anyone with unanswered questions let me know... I'm willing to look around and discover anything :) Picking it up in an hour or 2 ;)

In the last video posted the 3rd person view of the car doesn't look right when turning. It looks like the rear of the car is sliding out very quickly at an akward angle. Is is just me or has anyone else noticed it?

would you mind sharing how you set the sensitivity of your pedals? I found the S2000 (stock, my 1st car) so tail-happy when exiting corners, and uncontrollable at times. :scared: I'm using the G25 wheel and all sensitivity at 100% (steering, accel, and brake), with dead zone = 0. oh, I'm using Pro mode with no aids. :)

Yeah it looks strange, but with cockpit view you don't notice it.

I played it for quite a bit now and the physics are not that great. Power oversteer is non existent, except when your in first or second gear.

GT5p physics are much more advanced and more realistic.

Also the action in the game is to exaggerated. It's more about racing action then about realistic (close) racing. It's kinda like grid only with better physics.

EBGames. They have it as out now on their website even.

I saw it on EBgames for $100 (PC), but JBHiFi have it advertised as $79 and releasing on the 18th. As eager as I am to get the game, I'm willing to wait a few days to save $20 by picking it up at JB ;)

Did anybody else buy the gtr as their first car? I know it was the slowest car of the lot but how could anybody resist?

I need to go back to the shops later in the week so if I can be bothered I will just price match EB later in the week (you can price match still for 7 days after you buy the game). Win win in the end.

I did contemplate asking to price match when I picked the game up but realised if I did try and they chased it up they would realise they aren't meant to be selling the game.

Can you give us a bit more info on your findings? are you using the pad or wheel, what settings are you using (sim/arcade) and what view are you using. plus which car did you find was understeering oddly?👍

by power oversteer do you mean tourqe steer? when the car wants to pull one way or the other under heavy acceleration usualy in 1st and second gears but that depends on the power of the car.
