We will be doing testing this week and I do hope it works or we would have to find another solution. But for now this rule is open to change yes. We still don't know what happens to it so stay tuned, I will send everyone a pm if the rules changes.

Did you upgrade the firmware in your wheel? v38 is the latest.

http://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/pub/webupdate/T500RS/2012_TTRS_2.exe

yep i did, i even asked thrustmaster, i told them i did the firmwear update. They gave me some vague reply. "its normal & what game do you play?" my answer "Gran Turismo 5" they email back giving me the link you just give.

Help support is not there strongest point. :ill:

The only think i can try is the manually center my wheel but i doubt it will work.

My g27 is off to the left a bit but only when I start up the ps3 and it does its crazy spin , in the race though its fine , I guess I'm lucky I've only had it about 6 months , I don't want any problems.

Monza is going to be one awesome race , strategy will play a huge role with or without rain .

I'd prefer it not to rain but if it does I hope it plays into my race strategy .

My T500RS normally goes all the way to left and all the way to the right and back to centre. Sometimes it keeps going and going and going and again going. Like the PS3 cannot find it when calibration starts. Usually it helps to unplug the power wire set the wheel back to centre manually and then plug in the power wire again.

it never does that, it calibrates fine...

Erik i did read the racing conduct for monza.

Racing conduct for Autodromo Nazionale Monza

Pit entry
There is no rules about pit entering, but after seeing it on more tracks than one I think you will be re-set on pit entry and be held back by your pit crew for a penalty for speeding into pit

Pit exit
Same rule as always, do not cross the white. You are allowed to change lane after the line stops for a better line into the first chicane.

Corner cutting
There are three chicanes here were you can gain a lot by cutting it. Two wheels on track at all time or there will be penalties.

Slipstream
After seeing some late brake points on Fuji I though I gave a heads up. You do need to brake earlier after you been in slipstream. You have a lot higher speed so it's normal, also if you stay behind you opponent in the brake zone you don't have the same amount of down force you have in free run mode. If your not sure were to brake. Do it early, don't ruin someone's race because your unsure.

About the corner cutting, are we allowed to drive over the yellow/black bumps(don't know how you pronounce it in english) on the inside of the chicanes. When i use them i am still on track whit 4 wheels. There is a big time diffrence when you can or can not drive over them.

Last season we said to avoid the lying policemen and I think it worked great, but I say we keep to the rule about two wheels on the track or the curb.
The yellow and black bump would probably crush your suspension in real life, but I find it a bit harsh to give a penalty for touching them.

I say we should rather go for penalties if people cut with all 4 wheels and then there should be no doubt.
I think this made by Denilson is pretty good:

Yes Monza chicanes are a bit tricky , the legal way of taking them is very borderline to the illegal way of taking them , so I advise everyone to get their practice in .

Personally I'm having problems with my braking point before the 2nd chicane but I will get it right by race day .

I think I will be very competitive here once it doesn't rain .

I can't see where the tricky part is, 2 wheels on the track means the same on every track in my opinion. The tricky part is that people want to go faster and want to extend the track boundaries. I can't really police that in the qualify, so I will have to trust you guys. But in race I will track every car in every turn.

I think he meant he can't find hes brakepoint there. I had problems there to. But something very obvious dealt whit that. But still is very tricky in slipstream.

For me its ok the boundary's are on the kerb. This means i improved my time whit atleast a second...:)

Care to share the time ?

Erik you can enable penalties for qualifying and then turn them off before the race

Pro will join you in about an hour , hope your still on .

I was thinking about that, but will I lose my qualify position, like what happened on Fuji if I go back to the lobby. Need to be tested :)

I tested it today, it didn't work in practise, i had the free practise box on.

I thought we go to the lobby after qualy to change tyres anyway?

I guess we can just line up and start like we did in fuji worst case scenario .

But the thing is that messes up races with weather if you get what I'm saying

Well if it start to rain during qualify I doubt anyone could set a better time and we shouldn't care about the 30 minutes set for qualify and we could just start the race. Yes we would have to pit early, but that's goes for everyone.

Meaning we should start the race on what we qualify. I'm actually thinking about removing the soft tyres as it seems unfair to the NSX drivers. I could go 9 laps on soft on Fuji, check the replay if you don't believe me. No I don't go full soft speed, but its all in all faster than the medium stint. I doubt anyone here could do the same in a NSX. I know the NSX also have worse tyre wear on medium, but it is also the fastest car in a straight line. I guess we see how the different is during the season, but the soft tyres seemed to me to be a killer for the NSX drivers. A unfair advantage for Nissan and Lexus drivers.

Remember sometimes rain will fall and then stop .

And we will start qualifying dry I assume so I don't expect to see over 30 pct water unless we get rain that never stops.

About the soft tire , I think you should leave it , its already limited to 1 stint .

Falcon didn't even use the soft tire so removing wouldn't change much , its hardly used but its an option tire for a reason it gives another option during the race for strategy purposes .

Just my 2 cents

Yes you said this earlier, but when testing on Suzuka we didn't have this nice weather you talk about. It didn't stop raining and we had what we could call a worst case scenario. Rules have to be solid also then, not by what we assume.

Yes it is a option for you to use it, but as I see it is a waste of time even trying if your in a NSX. That's why I see it as unfair. I don't mind the soft tyres, I can make them last longer than most. But I want it to be fair for everyone.

My two cents concerning everyone here, not just my self 👍

Is the soft tyre that bad on the NSX? I think its all about the driving & the setup. If i don't count you erik, i can make my tyres last longer then anyone one some tracks, and on other tracks my tyres wear faster then most of you guys. The NSX may be more difficult in tyrewear, its not impossible. I didn't use the soft at Fuji either.

Anyway, i don't care if we use the soft or not but make a choice now! Not in the middle of the season.

If we rule out the soft. I suggest we go back to our first qualy-rule.

We are restricted to the medium tyre only in qualy. everyone starts on the same tyre. (it makes the qualy count)

For wet races: If its starting to rain heavy and there is still 15 minutes to go. everyone can change tyres in the pit. So everyone has time enough to get the right tyre becaus we always start the race after 30 minutes. If there is still time left you can work out your strategy, get smoke, or do some practise laps to adapt to the new track conditions to avoid accidents in the first laps.
if you start sooner then expected some people could be one the wrong tyre, specially if the mics are off.

I don't know about the tyre bug works when you change tyres from wets to mediums but we can test it quite easly before the race.

Just one thing about your post Maxitsu.

If you change tyres during the qualify to rain tyres, it wont register that when race start and you start on the tyres you entered the track on. I tried it on suzuka and used 5 minutes around it almost.. Somebody was watching me and on his screen it said I had rain tyres on.. I can promise you it was not rain tyres. So changing tyres during the qualify will not be a solution. (remember the bug when trying to qualify on soft and change to hard?)

If it starts to rain I say lets just go at once. let everyone finish their lap and go from there. No one will improve their lap time on wet anyway and we could actually do one or two laps on our medium/soft tyres before a early pit to change to intermediate or wets.

Next up is the news everyone will get a PM about.

I have set up a TeamSpeak server for everyone to join. This is our new way of communicating with each other when racing/practising/killing time when ever you feel like it.

Its totally different from the in game chat, its way better. Quality is rich compared and we can communicate even if we leave the room to change oil or restart the PS3.

The problem about it is that you need either a computer with a headset, android phone or a iphone with a hands free ear plug.
How you set it up is of course up to you, could be a problem since you now have two sources of sound you want to hear at the same time. But I will try help if you have any questions.

But the pros of this is endless, room is open 24/7 and everyone can take advantage of this when ever they want.

I do hope everyone sees this as a opportunity and grab it, I offer this for free for everyone here.

IP and password will be sent on pm as I don't want the entire GTPlanet on my TeamSpeak server ;)

Download links
http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads

EDIT: I might have come off a bit like it was required to take part of this, well its not. It's just something I offer for you. Would be awesome if everyone did join though.

I strongly disagree to removing the soft tire just for the sake of the nsx .

Soft is already limited to one stint , which in my opinion is a great rule and should remain this way for the season. But I don't make the rules , lol .

Advantages and Disadvantages are parts of racing , the nsx is faster on the straight than every other car should we take it out the championship NO .

If you get what I'm saying .

There are pros and cons to every choice in racing wether it be tire choice , tuning , etc .

We should keep the rules as they are. We shouldn't change them because we think one person has a disadvantage; we should change if we know it doesn't work.
