I think the same, i mean if 1 person has disadvantages because of the soft tire rule.. then we all have a disadvantage because the nix is much faster on the straight..

I think the use of TeamSpeak is also great! i actually felt so good speaking instead of writing.. this way i know that the things i say aren't being censored because of nothing :D

Hope to see you guys soon in the server, anyone ope to see u in the practice session tonight adam :)

About the soft tyre:

It was a suggestion not a rule change so please calm yourself down skengdigi, I know you opinion on that matter now.
Also adam its not one person its 5

No matter what tyres you put on the cars the NSX will suffer from far greater tyre wear than the rest of the cars. It does have faster speed on the straight but 1 extra pitstop will make up for that AT LEAST.

Also the race start makes it a mystery to solve were people want to qualify on soft and start the race on medium and the game itself wont allow that. So we will have to find a solution to that. We tried different things and it works, then PD releases a update and it doesn't work anymore. I'm just so tired of being on top of this so I wanted to make it easier for everyone. At least for me who will have to take a new look at things every time things doesn't work like we all hope it would.

I saw no one in a NSX post anything and even though I'm willing to offer them a possibility to speak up I'm not going to fight the fight for them so the Soft tyre rule stay. Guess I just have to spend a lot of time figure out how to solve the mystery of race starts now.

Sorry Erik , I know I can be a bit annyoing :)

We will figure out how to start the races , I'm sure you will figure out a solution soon .

When anyone comes online for practice send me a msg

Well you know my stance on tyre wear at the moment, the soft was dead to me after 3-4 laps in Fuji and if my tyre wear continues to be bad throughout the season then I'm going to have to drop out, I can't live with myself being held back by something I have little control over.

Just one thing about your post Maxitsu.

If you change tyres during the qualify to rain tyres, it wont register that when race start and you start on the tyres you entered the track on. I tried it on suzuka and used 5 minutes around it almost.. Somebody was watching me and on his screen it said I had rain tyres on.. I can promise you it was not rain tyres. So changing tyres during the qualify will not be a solution. (remember the bug when trying to qualify on soft and change to hard?)

I was afraid that would be the case. But nevertheless then i would like to see qualy on medium at all times, and stay on track before the race start.

At race whit dynamic rain and it stays dry in qually we do the same as always and we all start on mediums. if its starts to rain and there is no more then 10%(or something) of standing water we all say on mediums. If its raining harder we leave track to change tyres (mediums, wets or inters. own choice)
We go back to track we line-up like we did on Fuji. I know the weather could be diffrent now becaus of the reset (but you can choose your tyre now) and imaging the qualy is held on a other day.

Just a suggestion?

Well my softs didn't survive any longer...thats why i didn't use them. So is it really a NSX problem? at some tracks my softs have only have 2 good laps. Its for everyone the same in my eyes. I am always complaining about my tyres too.
Its just how the game is at the moment.

i think with a little bit effort and putting some time into practice during the week can satisfy everybody. we cannot expect a perfect race when we don't practice at all during the week and just show up 3,4 hours before the race and expect it to be smooth and without any problems. practice and testing your tune is key to having a good tire wear..

btw,, only me and erik are in the ts.. anyone who wants to join practice tonight .. its better to join the ts channel erik has made in order to keep up with who is running laps and who' s not. its much better than pming people to join the lounge for practice..

I have had to adjust my tuning and driving style since this new tyre wear and it has cost me in my hot lap times but consistency sometimes pays off compared to just being fast

I have found the NSX harder to drive on the medium tyres, haven't tested it yet on Monza
I could manage at max 12 laps but pitted after 10.

No that was me who hit 1000!

You hit 1000th replies, you must get your honour too! :P I was having bball practice for 2 hours and ruined my chances :( If I wanted to get both I should make a double post :P. As for teamspeak I think it works with my laptop's mic and speakers, and the best is that you can write there too :dunce:

Well to be very honest I watched the replay a few times and it seems you go to aggressive. You would need to adapt mate, the new tyre model demands that you actually take care of your tyres. You will have to be a bit more gentle and I guess practice it is the way to go. I know your busy with school and everything, but you should be able to put in a few hours of driving every week. I spent a lot of time adapting to the new tyre model and I was one of those who didn't "over use" my tyres before the update so it actually fits me perfect. Still hours of practice later it's far from perfect.

I bet Monza will be a lot better for your tyres, but during the season we do have tracks on our list that will eat your tyres even faster than Fuji. So the problem need to be solved from behind the steering wheel.

Best way to start is to relax your race pace compared to your qualify pace, it will make your tyres last a lot longer. Learn the trick to move the weight in your car and use it to get more grip on those tyres that need it and you can go even longer.

Also setting the car up for one hot lap is just not the way to go, you will need to set the car up so it feels ok, try it and see how long it last, not how fast you can go.. try to get both speed and the tyre last is a bit tricky, but I can say that raising the ride height in the front to get better turn in like someone used to do is not the way to go. You mess with the balance in the car and when you go a bit further than 2-3 laps it just doesn't do it.
Also moving the ballast in your car should be something you do with care, making it feel faster could make you lose time when the fuel of your car goes out.

Not my intention to try teach you something as you probably have more experience in racing games than I have, but you seem to be stuck in the old ways of doing things. Start your ps3 on Saturday after 7pm and race at 9pm when everyone in front of you at the end of the race have been on practicing more than 1 time during the week to practice is expected.

I miss you online in our practice lounge, would be nice to see you there and you might get back to "owning" like you used to. You do have what it takes, it just need an update. (I think)

Question @ Erik Andre

Whats the proper way to handle this situation for I don't want to get a penalty in the future.

The Situation:

Your part of the lap traffic community, and the pack is making there way around to passing you. Of course when they go for the pass you are suppose allow them to pass (hopefully they don't try this in a sector that doesn't allow multiple lines for easy passing), But lets say the lapped car is on a different tire strategy, and the lapped car has more tread then the lapper car so the 2 drivers are on more even playing fields, should you just try your hardest to stay behind the driver regardless of the draft pull, or is it ok to re pass if you let the original 1st pass happen? I guess this question is better stated like this: What does the lap traffic do if they mange to catch up to the lead pack that was lapping them? I clearly do understand that in any situation if the lead pack goes for the pass of course you should let them pass cleanly and without block them. 👍

Interesting question JoeTruckV8 and I will try answer as good as I can.

In the real world you would have the blue flag flashing as soon as you pass the guy who is a lap ahead, and you would have to yield, but I say if you can out race the guy you should be allowed, but only then. Racing him will stop him from going at his own pace and your not racing him after all, you are a lap behind.
If I were you and you could make a pass without risking anything, go for it. But if the guy are still on you after one or two lap(s) you should let him go. Then your tyres aren't good enough to "out race" the guy 1 lap in front of you. Let him go and take advantage of his slipstream, but keep out of his way.
If I saw you wanted to take back the lap over me and I saw you had a faster pace than me I would just let you go, but if we would have the same pace I do not want to go around a track defending my position to a guy a lap behind me. That only slow me down and my race at this time of race isn't against you, but the guys around me on the leader board.

It's a hard decision to make, but if your a lap behind because of a different tyre strategy it will be your own fault to have picked that strategy, not the guy lapping you. We aren't forcing any tyres on anyone, we are free to use any tyres, but only the soft once. And we aren't forcing anyone to use the soft, but limiting it.

I hope I made you smarter and not even more unsure about it..

Did spent some time driving today and i must say i don't looking forward to race any longer. My wheel is broken i have some problems to drive on "straights" it doesn't drive straight anymore; I have to turn left to drive in a straight line :ill:
I did try to center the wheel manually, but it didn't went any better. I even did more bad then good. Its one small little silly issue but it has a impact on my driving. When i drive on straight and i come in a braking zone i move a little to right or left which is normal, but i don't feel it anymore and i brake in the grass very often becaus of it. In wet condition its even worse.

I think i still have some warranty but i am afraid if it need a fix or trade i will not be able to use it for weeks (maybe months)

I put in loads of practice for Fuji before we postponed the season, didn't matter what I did, my tyre wear stayed the same.

I had tyre problems before the change, and now it's unbelievable. I've tried, and failed, to 'adapt' my driving style. I've had this 'issue' since GT5 released, if I couldn't change it when I was playing hours every day, I highly doubt it'll change now.

Well I do hope this isn't goodbye from you mate, even though it really looks like it. To be fair your tyres did last 8laps and Falcon managed 10 laps. And everyone now have to pit more often than before. We could actually remove the mandatory pit stop in our rules. If anyone in the world could do the amount of laps we have on every track without pit stop and still be competitive he should be allowed to :scared:

What I'm trying to say is that those two laps Falcon managed more than you isn't far away so I wouldn't say you failed to adapt, just not quite there yet. But that's me, I would never give up. Hope you stick around and kick some butt Arkano

I just had to try the NSX now. Tried it with the stock tune except for downforce witch was on max also I changed the brak balance to 7 at front and 5 at the rear.

I could go 10 laps if I was a bit careful, actually going 10 laps wasn't that hard. But the car didn't feel very good so I took some time to learn the car. What is making the rear tyres go faster than front. Not anything to do with suspension, but the torque this car now have with the turbo stage 2. I checked the graph showing Max Power/torque and it was quite clear to me what had to be done. Tweak the gear box to avoid working under 5900 rpm. You can use this torque to go super fast, but it will also wear your tyres super fast.

So I made 1st and 2nd gear long, very long and 3-6 pretty short. This way you can work down on 4000 rpm on 2nd gear because you do have the power to do so, but you shouldn't floor it before passing 5500-6000 rpm Keep the gear almost until the limiter kicks in and change, now the rest of the gears should not go under 6000rpm and then you have a torque the rear tyres can live with.

Also I would suggest not to increase the rear camber more than it is stock, I know a lot of guys say it is faster this way and it might be, but when the rear tyres is more than 355 in width you will actually only run on less than half the rear tyres with a increased negative camber. This again will increase tyre wear as the tyre wear comes from acceleration/torque and not handling.

My setup during the test is far from perfect, but I could easly match the time I set on Fuji with the GT-R

I only list the things that are NOT stock tuning

Body/Chassis
Front Rear
40-65

Transmission

Inserted topseed: 360km/h (stock I believe)

1st 2,906
2nd 1,906
3rd 1,462
4th 1,164
5th 0,949
6th 0,787

Final Gear: 4,062

Max speed (right high corner) 340km/h

Drivetrain (LSD)
15
40
30

Toe Angle front 0,02 rear 0,05

Brake balance
7/5
Rest was stock, this is far from what I would have used in a race, but it's a good base tune for me at least, car felt precise enough on turn in, and it had a tendency of over steer on turn exit when tyres got worn, but nothing some throttle control couldn't fix.

On average I was about a second slower than my GT-R, but I'm a GT-R driver, not a NSX driver and I used 2 seasons to adjust my GT-R, and two hours on the NSX
But I could go 10 laps on mediums easy, even if I pushed during the first 6-7 laps.

So it might be about time to reset the car Arkano, its like when I adjusted sound in my car, sometimes I just adjusted to much and was way off.

Another thing I figured out was because the rear or "mid" mounted engine you have more weight on the rear tyres so when sliding this car will wear the tyres more than the GT-R, so pushing it could be risky.

I hope this helps, even though I know you never liked my car setups, but maybe you got some ideas for your own tune ;)

I'm sorry for double post, but it's worth it ;)

Yeh Arkano don't give up , your too good a driver to give up.

Maxi you need to get that wheel fixed or replaced asap , call them up today .

I too am struggling with the rear tires at Monza but I think that that's just Monza .

Looking at the replay at Fuji I think I had the best tire wear :)

One day I might become a great tuner / mechanic like Erik .

Erik that's some high brake balance , I've been using 2 2 this season .

yea i got a problem on my rear tires swell at the moment.. but i think its because i'm using all the weight i have in the back.. got to adjust it somehow..

im gonna try and win this race, can't wait till saturday.. looking forward to see everyone in teamspeak it'll be a lot of fun :)

Yeh when I get home today ill google how to setup teamspeak with my bluetooth , if not ill just get a old fashioned wired headset tomorrow .

This should be a very close race , with drafting the racing is extremely close here .

And let's not forget the rain .

Think i got the teamspeak working now , someone send me a msg when they are online so we can test it .

I'll check it out sometime later this week Erik, I'd hop on now but I'm just too tired and I've got a headache right now

Not really sure how I'm going to manage using teamspeak, the mic I would normally use is in-built for my computer (which is sat behind me when I'm using the PS3) so I wouldn't be able to use push-to-talk and I think my sound-activation would be too sensitive with my wheel & the TV going at the same time.
