I'd build carbon fiber Hot rods. Think of it, a Model A roadster is already a lightweight, why not make it out of Carbon fiber?

i NEVER SAID IT WAS;)

Yeah, well, people might think that (as I did :dopey:). And they would walk around, talking about AIDS being the same as chlamydia.. I just dislike seeing "I've heard from someone who knows that if you blow your car up, it'll go much faster".. Eventually, some nut could blow his car up. Because there's no certaincy around this.. Which maybe started with a joke on the net.. ;)

ultrabeat
He was asking if I would name a car AIDS.

Which I most definately would.

Yeah, I saw it now..

The dealership :
"Hello, Sir, how can I help you?"

"Oh, I would just like that AIDS, with the HIV (Hydrogen - Infrared - Vibration) package."

This is just something ive been throwing together....it is nowhere near done but I have thought of what MY car company's designs would look like.

ConceptFront.jpg

Right now, this would be the front to a small hatchback, much like a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris. I am still conceiving the sides and rear of the vehicle; hopefully the front design is not too dramatic of a design. After I finish this hatchback design I hope to create a wider array of vehicles, each with the signature grille. Im also still working on the company name and have a few ideas in mind; Not that this design will go anywhere but who knows.

BTW, this is a Photoshop tracing of the original line drawing.

I'd start with a one seater. Really low, really small, really efficient, and really safe. Formula 1 sized but with closed wheels and a plastic cockpit cover to keep you out of the rain - no doors, no spoiler. It would be 4 cylinder but drop to 2 when you punch econo-mode.

I'd try to keep it as simple, light, and cheap as possible. Because the market for something like this would be a commuter/sports car.

I'd also want to put a stretch sedan out on the market. 4 doors, but an oversized door in the back (maybe suicide doors in the back). There would be three rows of seating. The first faces forward while the next butts up against the first facing the other direction. The car would seat 7.

Great topic.

My company would be called American Motor Sport. We would have started out as an independed race team but after dominating on various levels of racing we opened a company because our cars are so popular. :) The focus is on making out of the box racers that are fun to drive. Ideally we would work on three different price levels and offer two trims at each level.

The first level would be a lightweight, RWD sports car at the 25k dollar level with great handling and power called the 100t. I think at that price great handling can be achieved as demonstrated by the significantly cheaper Mazdaspeed Protege and using a 4cyl turbocharged powerplant a nice amount of power could be obtained. I am thinking around 250hp mated with a 6 speed and a car that comes in around 3000lbs and you have the recipe for fun. Styling at this level would be a little more aggressive to aim for the early 20 somethings and it would have two trim packages with little options. The first trim level simply called the 100t would offer the base car but with AC, Radio, cruise, etc etc. This would be the higher production model because most likely most people want those options on a car they could drive daily but have some fun with on the weekends. The second trim level would be the 100t-R which is stripped down in ammenities (no AC, radio, etc etc) but now offers an adjustable rear spoiler, front facia, lightweight wheels, bigger brake discs, and stickier tires. It would be track ready but still street legal. I think these two cars could be very similar in price because the R versions extra go features would be offset in price by the lack of radio, ac, and so on.

Level two would target the 70-80k dollar price range and we would be taking aim directly at the Z06 Corvette. Again there would be two trim levels but a couple of options for each level. Either trim would have extensive use of Carbon Fiber to keep it light. We would use a turbocharged 7 liter V8 to produce a rediculous 650hp and all models would have the same huge brakes and race ready fully adjustable suspension. The car would be called the 300t with the base model having all the ammenities like AC, radio, and so on but also would have an option for a six speed manual or a paddle shift dual clutch manual system. Leather would be standard on this model. The 300t-R level would very similar but with a stripped down interior. Again it would get an adjustable rear spoiler and front fascia. It will also have ceramic brakes with a brake bias controller and come only with a 6 speed manual. The price of this model will be slightly higher then the base 300t because of the ceramic brakes.

The final model in our lineup will be the awsome 500tt. It will be like nothing seen before and use a carbon fiber body, aluminum V8 twin turbo engine making 800hp@7500 Rpms, carbon suspension componets, ceramic brakes, ultra modern interior with some ammenities like radio and AC. The only transmission available is a new 7speed paddle shift transmission with launch control. The target price is 225000 dollars.

That's my company, great cars built in American, by Americans, for everyone.

45 KM/H cars with lotsa room for the folks to throw their groceries in:P

Honestly, it would be a succes!!

And then make a very very fast car:cool:

Well, my company wouldn't make new cars, but rebuild crashed cars (Porsches, Lambo's, Ferrari's, Skyline's maybe..). In Germany many exotics are for sale, I mean crashed ones.. A friend of mine bought a crashed R34, chassis was crap but engine was still verry good.. His uncle had a company that repaired broken down cars and stuff.. So he worked 24/7 on his R34. After he finished he drove it for a year then sold it..

A company like 'Top Secret' would also be verry awesome.. Although not here in the Netherlands, most of the 'tuners' here are lazy low budget ricers..

That's a really awsome idea. With the huge powerplants rodders put into their cars a cf body would really lighten those up and probably make them even quicker.

What, you think no one's ever thought of that?
Better yet, make the lead sleds and heavy Chevys out of CF. Style AND weight less than a tank.

I'm sure lots of people have thought about it but it just had never hit me before. Sorry I'm so dense.

yeah, Some of those old all steel chopped lead filled coupes ran 200+ at Bonneville with Flatheads. Imagine what a car as narrow as a chopped '34 Ford would be able to hit with a smallblock and a superlight carbon fiber body...:nervous:

💡 I'd make a monocoque 1960 chevy impala body out of Carbon fiber, and make it a Grand tourer style car with a Turboed Carburated LS7. (have you guys seen the issue of HOT ROD with the clear LS7 intake? ) I'd call it the "Reduced fat Biscuit".

I'd call the company Tydol motor corporation.
I'd offer three cars.

The Flying A - Basically it's a Model A with a '32 ford grill shell made in a Carbon fiber monocoque. It would come with a 4" chop from a stock A, be "channeled" 3", and sectioned 2". It would have all around discs, with a Jaguar independent rear suspension, and be powered by a buick Nailhead. Available in coupe, roadster, and 2 door sedan.

Veedol - this one's the crazy one. It's going to be an all carbon fiber monocoque '32 ford chopped 4", channeled 3", and sectioned 2", with options of either a Cosworth DFV, a Chevy smallblock, or a buick Nailhead. It will be a 2 seater with no creature comforts, a six speed transmission, and a 4 link with a Ford 9" rear end. It will have disc brakes, but no power steering. this one's for pure speed, it will be lowered substantially from a stock 32(if unmolested '32s exist anymore..) and have Halibrand Magnesium wheels. Anything not necessary to go fast will not be on the car. This is kinda like a westfield sEight, don't buy it unless you got big cojones. comes unpainted, some assembly required. *May not be legal in California.

And Ethyl

Ethyl will be a carbon-fiber chopped Volkswagen, powered by a WRX engine. It will be the cheapest of the three, and actually have a few creature comforts.

That's just about the dumbest idea I've ever had..

How about rename your Ethyl to this ----> TetraEthyl ;)

Heh. ;) 👍

No.. I think Tetraethyl would be a twin turbo version. Wait. Tetra is the root meaning 4, right? so... :ouch: Ah well, most of the American public is too dumb to know the difference.

Aha! Tetraethyl = Quad turbo. No, seriously. there was a octaturbo '57 chevy, why not a quad turbo WRX? they could be really small ones..

I would make cars like Nissan. Have everything you could want form them...
Suvs... Pathfinder
Pickups... Titan and Frontier
Sport Cars... 350Z, Skyline
Quick economical cars... Maxima
Slow economical cars.. Micra, Cube or w/e there serving up over there in Japan.

Here's a company that I made up for my Sonic-Universe Stories...

-MOBITECH-

M200: a small, Mid-engine, two-seat roasdter, Ala. Lotus Elise. Engine is 2.0L I-4T sourced from Acorn Motor Co. (a Sonic Universe Manufacturer), making 250hp. Carbon-intensive construction.

M300: a Mid-engine, NSX-style car, competing against cars like the 350Z and Mustang. Has a 3.0L Acorn-sourced V6 Twin Turbo making 350HP. Aluminum construction.

M400: Again, Mid-engine, with a custom 4.0L V8, making 500HP. Competitor to the F430. Carbon-and-Aluminum construction

M600: 6.0L V-12, Supercar-class car with 700+HP. Intense use of Carbon, body shaped for downforce. Rumored top speed of 240+mph.

FB-34A "Lancer": Compact Fighter Jet...whoops, wrong type of Vehicle....

ultrabeat
My company name would be DG Engineering.
Low volume maker of fine tourers.

My models-
Chlamydia
4.6l V8 powered Front Engined RWD 2 Seater. Approx 290hp
Main design brief- To be relaxing to drive on long journeys, but fun when pushed. Must be extremely practical (well, as practical as a 2 seaters can be). Must have smooth flowing lines.

Gingivitis
4.6l V8 powered Front Engined RWD 2 seater. Removable hardtop (S2000 style). Approx 290hp.
Main design brief- Same as above, but chassis to be strengthened to support decapitation.

Gingivitis GT
5.0l V8 bored version of above engines. Front Engined RWD 2 seater. Removable hardtop (S2000 style, as above). Approx 320hp
Main design brief- As above, but with emphasis on an engaging drive. Will be lowered, beefed up and stripped out. Think along the lines of a Morgan Exige.

Pussywillow
5.0l V8 engine. Front Engined RWD 2 seater. Full Convertable roof. Approx 320hp
Main design brief- Emphasis on monotony. Steering will be lacklutre and unengaging. Ride will be crashy, as I will skip suspension altogether, baby.
This model will be released, provided the other models sell well within 12 months. This will then be released at a substancially cheaper price, and so badge snobs will buy them and I'll make lots of money.

Rectal Discharge
4.6l V8 powered Front Engined RWD 4 Seater. Approx 290hp
This will be the family car. I'm thinking along the lines of a Lotus Carlton.
The rear seats will be cramped, and the dashboard will smell of sick, as will the seats and the floor. To cut costs and weight, aircon will be chucked, and the windows cannot be opened. There is no sunroof. Ever. The boot will be small, and the spare wheel case will take up a lot of room. An actual spare wheel will NOT be included when buying the car.

All cars will eventually have a DGR badge slapped on the back. The letter R will be red, fooling the customer into thinking it's actually any quicker.

*DG Engineering reserve the right to take back any cars sold for no reason and without warning.

Phillips Engineering and Automotive, or PEA for short.

My companies aim is to produce fun cars, for everyone from the weekend driver to the sons of a millionaires to middle aged men with four kids and need a practical family car.
> Low profile tyres are a no-no and we are against speed cushion so an optional 'speed cushion killer' is available. This is basically a pick axe that clams down just as you pass over it and then retracts hidden away. All garages will be paid to 'ignore' this item upon inspection.
> Luxury is not the aim, but it must be well built with good products.
> Styling will be flowing but with sharp points thrown in.
> Colours are limited to Orange, Luminous green, Pink and yellow.

It starts with the 58008
It's Daihatsu Copen in size and fun to drive, with a budget race series available. Body shell primarily made of plastic and body panels easy to remove but with a well built if not luxury interior.
Engine- FR, 3 cylinder, 1.4 turbo, 110Bhp. Comes with a folding plastic roof, which allows it to be stored like a soft top but not so flimsy at high speeds.
£12,000

Second car is the 5537637
It's based along the lines of the S2000. It's abit more capable at motorway speeds but is still very much a sports car. Removable hardtop and can be fitted with some functional 'racing' body pieces for that man that doesn't like to be understated.
Engine- FR 2.5 V6 NA. 230Bhp 6 speed sequential.
£18,000

The first saloon, the 77345993
It's a 2 door hatch, cable of fitting 2 average 12 yr olds in the back seat. Great for motorway cruising with great cornering characteristics. The first of the practical cars. Has an optional sexy voice for the Sat Nav that can only be activated when sensors sense testicals in the drivers seat. Has body kit of similair design to the Ford Mondeo ST models.
Engine- 3 ltr V6 superchargerd, or 3.5TD, 300Bhp. Has an automatic option incase the wife wants to see what all the fuss is about (No offense ladies, just using my mums awesome manual shifting as experience, 25 yrs driving my arse) and become a regular driver.
£25,000

The 5376606.
This is the Grand saloon. The golfers car. Big saloon, all the mod cons, without too much weight added. There's an estate version for the ultimate in sleeper and can fit 2 average adults and a midget in the back seats.
Engine- 4.3ltr V8 supercharger (but very smooth) 450Bhp.
£35,000

The 77345.
The Vauxhall Zafira VXR of PEA. Seats 7 with relative comfort, though you wouldn't want to be climbing into the very back if your over 5ft 6.
This will be Dad's savior when he realises he'll never get that sports car he wanted.
Engine- 2.4 V6 Supercharged or 3ltr TD. Paddle shift box available incase dad really wants the race car feel.
£19,000

And Finally the 0.8537
This uses the same 4.3ltr V8 supercharger as the 5376606 but is the supercar of the family. 0-60 in 3.8 secs and top speed of 201mph. This car was made to go fast. Carbon fibre shell with a Titanium chassis this car is light but stiff.
Engine- As mentioned 4.3ltr V8 supercharger with 550Bhp. Only allowed a 7 speed gear box, but the seventh gear is automatically selected from 6th.
£65,000 (Okay, probably way more.)

Imagin' the Mini Cooper with a W16, I guess the only one who can drive that car would be mini-man or something, the only thing that fits in the car is the engine itself
