Imports

It was more the way Ford Europe looked at the 60s Mustang and thought "hmm, we want a piece of that!" and what we got was the Capri. It's probably a good car in it's own right, but a '69 Capri V6 doesn't really compare to a late '60s Mustang V8.

Anyway, I'm going off topic. More imports!

Your opinions? I like, a lot:

If you bought a 22B you wouldn't worry about resale, as they are constantly appreciating in value, and seemingly even more so after the sad loss of Mr.McRae (The 22B was thought of as 'his' car).

Didn't they cost over £40k when new? - they currently swap hands for between £20k and £25k.

I think you're right, was around £36k when brand spanking new, and that used price sounds realistic too. I've never seen one for less than £20k too and it's the sort of car that'll probably never drop below that price unless there's a crash in the market, because it's such a cult car.

;)

That said, there are plenty of cars the States got which we didn't. We had no Mustang so had to make do with the Capri...

I'd take a Capri over a 'Stang anyday. Such great looking cars with minor modifications.

TheCracker, you're right, but they've been going at £20-£25k in reasonable condition for a fair few years now. If you find a totally mint example (showroom/concours condition) you can expect to pay £30k or more.
Obviously the prototypes reach ridiculous sums.

I've just found several S202 Bugeye Imprezas for under 10k :sly: If only I had £8k-£9k to spare!

Erm... what are those in the back window? I guess my head is in the garbage.

They're grab handles from Japanese subway trains, Japanese boso guys thief em and hang them off their rear bumpers to show how low their cars are if they get the handle scraping on the ground. It looks like this guy is just using them as actual grab handles though....:)

mr2oc.com to find more pictures of this car:)
It's too low in my opinion

I'm not sure I understand this "too low" concept? That MR2 is tidy.

Finally, I'm not sure I like the "Eu-rota". Seems really sacreligious IMO.

On one hand, I can see this, but on the other, it does, in a way, fit with Colin Chapman's ethos of "Add Lightness," the Rotary being a very powerful engine for not a whole lot of weight.

Speaking of rotaries......

Could have find more, but I guess that would be too much...... :P

That little screw up on the right side of the intercooler? Weird. I don't know what that is.

Looks like piping that isn't attached to anything, with a black backing behind it. And there's another oil cooler <?> that just makes it look strange and 'shopped.

I wonder what the motive for that rotary 350z was...

Whats the most expensive and hard way to make this car unreliable, sound worse, and mess up the weight balance?

Can't be. I see no mid '80s Jag V12 and electricals. You may be onto something with the sound though, even if I quite like the non-bridgeport rotary noise. Especially with a gigantic turbo.

Well since the tuner company was called Dyson Rotary, you do expect nothing less from them...... :sly: IMO, I don't think it is really a wasted effort though. The REW-20B is lighter and (apparently) more reliable than the VQ35DE, gives better weight distribution and that rotary sound sounds like sex......👍 (brap, brap, brap, brap, brap......)

I read on another forum somewhere, and they were aiming for 800HP with that 20B.......

Oh, and to make you Honda fans cringe in disgust ......

As soon as you mention it comes from Dyson Rotary...... I don't need to know details, I know it is going to be a beast!

Hehe rotary EK is awesome.

There used to be a EF Civic Sir running round that had a 12A carb fed bridgeport. Apparently the builder just did it for a laugh, just to have a rotary Civic.

It was back in the day when a EF9 was worth all of a couple of K, not $5K+ like these days.

I like this IMO. Different and the style works.
