Needs more aero work.

It's amazing how when a car looks as good as that Evo, it doesn't need any kind of cool looking background or location to look good. It looks good no matter where it is.

A rough run down of the car:
-AMS 2.3RR engine
-HKS Dry Sump oil system
-AMS GT35R
-AMS VSR Intake Manifold
-Exedy Triple carbon Clutch
-CTG Torqueline CF Driveshaft
-Brembo GT brakes
-AP air jack system
-JRZ Triple Adjustable racing suspension
-Dek adjustable front control arms
-ATL CF Fuel cell
-AIM Dash
-Carbon Doors/Trunk/Hood/Roof
-Voltex CyberEVO Widebody aero, etc...

These are older pictures, the car was far from complete:

It'll be a beast when it's done, most likely one of the fastest Time Attack EVO in North America.

You can see their older car in the back on the last picture, that was also an awesome Evo. This one is going to be a quick one for sure.

I wonder what kind of setup they'll come up with for the wing on this one.

Less talk, more rock. Or pictures... whatever.

Can't wait to see this one completed, it's going to be quite insane once it's done. Built around the same principles as the Cyber EVO from Garage HRS
Was that the matte black one?

Love this one. Love the CE28N's especially. :grumpy:

I can't believe that guy leaves his Lude sitting out in the ice and snow like that. No respect. It looks like an SH, too.

Hmm. I guess the one I'm thinking of was that big time attack Evo prepped by HKS.

Wasn't it red until it met a wall and then became matt black? The HKS car definitely matt black for a while. AMS had the silver one pictured on the last page, and a customer with them (Chris) had a black one (stock color). That was the one making loads of power, in a video racing a Viper full-up. The Evo on the last page is awesome!!

There's a Porsche there, and you're more concerned about a 10 year old Honda. I dunno...I just lost a lot of respect for something.

Also, he's in an Apartment Complex, and that's likely his daily, so he probably doesn't have the choice of a garage.

I'm sorry.

Oh and as for the HKS HYPERMAX Evo, HKS said they didn't want to paint it until they had finished it, when it ran the time attack and hit the wall (right after setting a record) it was still in development. The next year it entered in completed form (red) and it beat the record again.

HKS referred to the black one as TRB-02 (as in Tsukuba Record Breaker 02, TRB-01 being the mad Altezza from a few years ago), whereas the red one is CT230R. Two different cars, then?

You can also buy, for a cool 25k, the widebody kit made by HKS for your road going Evo!

Going by what I remember from video option it was the same car, repaired and tweaked, but maybe not.

That kit was for sale ages ago I remember, they still make them? I thought it was a one off.

Not really keen on widebody kits...25k isn't that bad a price for something made by HKS though. Really, I'd like to see a body kit for a road going 350Z made by HKS. ;)

I didn't think I would ever here anyone say 25k for a bodykit 'isn't that bad'

Still....That's too much money to be throwing at a bodykit. There's Lancer Evo's out there worth less than that now-a-days.

Well, if you're making a full time attack car, you're probably spending more on the car than you bought it for anyway.

Yes, but I should hope you're not spending $25,000 on a bodykit. That kind of money should be more than enough to make most cars far more than just a track ready machine.

Umm. No.

Sorry.

I do believe so. $25,000 isn't small pocket change. I can't imagine what kind of track machines people can create with Coopers, Civics, RSX's, hell even Hyundai Tiburon's.

Pro Time Attack teams build until they are happy with the car, they don't build to a budget really.

I'd imagine most Pro teams spend more than $25,000 on bodykits, considering all the parts are custom/hybrid and the materials are very expensive to craft (Carbon Fibre/Magnesium)

$25,000 would make a car a LOT faster (if used correctly), but nowhere near breaking records or being insanely quick. As an example, a fair few U.K club racers spend the equivalent of $25,000 on suspension, chassis and brakes alone.

I'll give 'em that, but I'm talking about a track machine in general, i.e. the ones people just build up out of their "daily drivers".

Depends on what the driver is after. I know a lot of guys who have spent in excess of their cars value on aftermarket parts and upgrades for their daily driver (Imprezas, Evos, Integrales, GT-Fours, etc).

It's more common in the U.K for someone to buy a Radical/Formula Ford or similar as their track car and keep their daily fairly stock.

In the context of what we were talking about, top end Time Attack cars, $25,000 isn't nearly what they spend.

Yes, you can make a normal street car fast with that, my Spyder would end up being a mid 10 second car that could easily pull a G on the skid pad, but it would still have a long way to go, such as custom doors, engine mounts, completely redoing the coolant setup, and so on.

And that is assuming I do near all the work myself. Labor on these projects can be insane.
