So they're Cordelia knock-offs, basically.

Pretty much, they just aren't horribly expensive like what I would expect Lambo wheels to be.

Also, I'm not sure but I think it might help with turbulence around the wheel area, but that's just a guess.

You're pretty much right. As far as I'm aware, in cars with not a lot of distance between wheel and arch you can get quite a build up of high pressure air that creates lift, which isn't ideal in performance cars obviously. I suspect those cut outs are designed to funnel the high pressure air away, letting the rest of the aero do it's work.

The press made a big deal when Renault did it on the Clio 197, presumably it's the first hot hatch to do such a thing though I suspect there are plenty of supercars that've done it before.

I approve of Porsche wheels too!

On that note, some of the Porsche-shod cars I photographed at a VW show last year. I'm fairly sure I put them in one of my threads but I don't think they've graced this one yet.

And not Porsche wheels, but pretty cool:

I really wanted that last Caddy van, for some reason.

The wheels are sweet, but isn't it blasphemous to display a Benz badge on a BMW? I mean that's not OEM plus at all, that's just mismatched. Maybe he should replace it with a BMW center cap.

I agree with the badge mismatching but some people just don't get hung up on what badge goes where or what belongs on what. If they think it looks good, who are we to disagree.

well, it looked like it to me, okay? X3

The ridiculous smiley face isn't helping your case here... I had hoped to never see those again after leaving the Anime Communities years ago.

That aside, the E36 rocking the Benz wheels looks pretty good. I do feel something should be done about the center caps, but its not exactly stress inducing :P

The Cyber Evo won the World Time Attack event over in Australia, pulling out a lap nearly 1.3 seconds faster than the SSE Evo, which apparently ran into engine trouble (I think that smoke we saw was escaping from the head gasket).

Awesome. 1.3 seconds is still a pretty tight gap when you consider how far apart and how differently the two cars were developed.

Here's the video that goes with that sick E36. And I know it's a little late to chip into the Stanceworks argument, but after you watch the video I think you might respect what these guys do a little more. They aren't a bunch of tools fitting wide wheels on their car and then buying performance parts so they can say it's fast, they mod for a reason and know what they're doing.

That's a shame regarding the reliability problems with the SSE Evo. And Keef 1.3 seconds is quite the distance especially with the speeds of these cars. It didn't seem to me that the cars themselves were too far apart from each other.

I love these wheels but I'm pretty sure they are the VW equivalent of herpes.

Although this car is pretty much perfect based on the way I like my modified cars.

Those are LP560 wheels, right? If by herpes you mean hella contagious, then yes, they're the herp. The new ****. Please tell me they're 5x114, and then tell where where to get them.
