I think I found the finished version...

Where did the air vents go? This is a different car I think.

I really am having a hard time convincing myself not to swap out to an R53 after looking at a ton of pictures. These things just look so good when dropped.

We're not talking about their race cars, we're talking about their street cars.

Spoon EG6 yo. Toss that avatar out the window if you don't know a replica when you see one.
The "replica" is missing the Advan sticker above the side marker. :P

It is, you can tell from the plate number. With that said though, the Thai VIP scene is just...

As far as I can tell, trying to make a replica of their car never was cool to begin with. Putting Michelin tires on it and saying "it's not a replica" just makes the owner look like a goofball. You simply can't put those parts on a Civic without it looking like you're trying to make a replica, i.e. being an idiot.

It's official: Colin Chapman had the world's coolest aircraft. You could paint pretty much anything in JPS colours it seems and it immediately improves it by about 10x.

Also, love the rallying shots. McRae's Impreza will always go down well.

@ Orange Lotus w/California plates;

Is that thing even street legal? No windshield and all?

Yeah, was street legal. He had really questionable modification plans (IMO) that seriously hurt the value of the car. He tried to sell it about 2 years ago, I don't know if it has changed hands yet...

One of the coolest Lotus I have seen was an S1 Elise with the front-end of an S1 Exige bolted on. The wider front track on the roadster body looked brilliant.

Why make it even less aerodynamic than it already was by taking off the engine cover and whatnot? Is that supposed to make this water-cooled engine run cooler or something?

I like this fitment:

Though it could do with 5mm less offset and the next widest tire size. Then it would be perfectly flush.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it wasn't done.

EDIT: Also, that IS is what you would call "perfectly flush". If the suspension were to compress it would probably just kiss the edge of the rim. Otherwise it would just tuck every time it hits a bump.

Poke is when the wheels and tires simply don't fit, which isn't the case.

I suppose you're right. The only fender mods are a roll up front and roll and pull in back. Looks great.

As for the exhaust, the only change I'd make is mounting a Spec 2 instead.

If I had the money, I'd pick it up. I think it looks great; would be a cool little track toy, imo. :)
