I think what he may be getting at is that this thread is generally for modified street cars, not race cars.

Either way, the "Porsche" is a Ruf CTR3.

I can understand the untold rule that they have to be production cars but the fact that allot of super cars are near race cars compared to a "modified street car" makes the line very vague. Especially considering TA cars which are, at times, to the level of FIA touring cars minus the slicks. I'll include a non-production based car such as an f1 car once in a while because it was in the gallery I was looking through and was worth posting here. After all, it is pretty rare the times I post these many photos at once and even more rare of a select few, who never contribute to this thread, to complain about its regulations...or lack there of.

And yes, the CTR3 is awesome...

Either way, my only gripe is the huge number of pictures. But at the same time, there's a LOT of gems in them, cars that deserve so much more recognition now-a-days, so I'm not too bothered.

Yeah and I don't really have the fastest connection either (well more like my computer being from 2003) so it was pretty time consuming. Either way I enjoy sharing the things I like with people that can appreciate them. Not to mention, allot of these pictures are what I would call "rare." Those random shots taken that show the "behind the scenes" that were simply stored away until recently scanned and uploaded. We have to keep in mind that the percentage of photographers back then that were actually professionals was much lower than what it is now. Not to mention every shot they ever took from that era was prior to the digital age so photos did not spread around the world quite the way they do now.

I think your posted pictures are amazing and often wonder where you find them. Slightly off topic or not, it doesn't bother me one bit. 👍

Great pics again SJ. The Giulia GT near the top is rather nice, still of the opinion that very few cars indeed are prettier than those things.

Allot of the sources I have discovered were through image searches on google which then led to one thing and then another. I remember a while back I looked up chassis codes such as NA6CE on google japan (knowing that the Japanese often refer to the cars by their chassis code) and found a bunch of stuff on Car Life. There's allot of blogs out there people don't know about mainly because the owner doesn't post his photos anywhere else. Not to mention the majority of "car guys" now-a-days are often preoccupied with drifting. There's also all the Flickr and Photobucket pages full of great stuff I would some times come across. Its all out there.

There has been an amazing plethora of pics of the 918 coming out, outside of the factory/auto shows. I don't know where the source is, but imo, the 918 just looks amazing being seen out in the open, away from groups of people.

Don't get me wrong, I love your posts. But the Sexy and Mean car pic thread usually houses those sorts of cars, sadly it's not seen the traffic it used to and members seem to of forgotten about it. As McLaren also said, Imports are usually modified street cars.

Most of them looked like racing cars to me.
How does entering it in a racing series make it any less of a modified street car? In a lot of places here it would be a matter of simply registering it to make it a "street car". They're still modified cars that anyone could have went to a dealership and purchased.

I know a good number of people who race their "street cars."

You're absolutely right. I've got this mate, Sebastien Vettel, who races his modified Renault.

A race car is a car this is raced, people. Doesn't matter what it is. The most purpose-built drift car you've ever seen in your life is still not a race car because it is not being raced. It is a ballerina. A pretty cool ballerina, but a ballerina indeed.

When did clear tails become popular again? I have some civic altezzas left over from many years ago if anyone wants them. They're god awful looking so you should fit right in at the next honda meet.

Lol ^ I posted that 86 a couple pages ago.
I thought so but wasn't sure. I didn't remember where I saved it from.

Yes.

Everything else (except the AE) = No. That includes the Integra with the awful white taillights.

k

There is a difference between these and the typical ricey tails. Just because they're lacking red I guess means they're ricey. What about replacing amber corners with clear? Ricey? Although I'm not a fan of the clear in most cases I don't think the integra looks that bad.
