That is Epic...

Any more? Like a whole side shot?

The only problem with the car is that the rear has more visual mass and therefore when the car is actually sitting level the rear looks like it's sitting lower. Most cars, because the greenhouse is situated more reward, require a very slight rake to look like it's sitting correctly.

He may have not lowered the front for geometry reasons, which is perfectly understandable. But it looks awkward.

Agreed. I also like a car with a bit of rake to get rid of the awkwardness.

Which is exactly how it was used in this thread. They can twist it however they'd like.
Well, I can't judge that, nor do I really want to.

Anyhow, even if it was said with a positive meaning in mind... I think for most people, that's just because the picture itself is striking.
I for example wouldn't have known that a driver died that way, so I would've considered it to be very impressive. I probably would've used the term 'cool' if I would've commented on it before knowing what heppened back then.

But, I'll agree with you, some of the 'reasoning' that has been going on afterwards made me shake my head a bit.

But, anyways, I won't butt in anymore :sly:

Agreed!!!

They really become incredible when you slide an LSX in there. Non iron variant. Make mine an LS3 please.

Have friends who built and sold and still own swapped RX7's. One friend that's a rotor head. Bridge ported blah blah I don't know what I am saying. But it runs well, not LSX well but 120 trap speeds.

I'm all for crazy motor swaps, and am a fan of the LSx Miata, but as a "Rotor Head" you wouldn't catch me taking the rotary out of my RX-7's.

In all seriousness, Mazda could have never released that car and if it popped up as a new design tomorrow looking just like it does, nobody could say it looks dated. Extremely timeless design.

As good as they look in photographs...nothing can touch seeing them in person. Truly stunning and timeless design. And I agree, I would never swap a beautiful rotary engine for a rough, un-sophisticated (ok the LS1 is decently sophisticated with it's alloy block and ridiculous heads, but still) V8. I would, however, swap in a normally aspirated 3 rotor. People are getting nearly 500bhp out of these engines reliably. Nothing like a 2.0 liter rotary spinning up past 10,000rpm and delivering more than 420hp to the rear wheels.

I actually found this in Arlington, Texas:

There has to be only a handful in the country. As it's my favorite car...ever....I'd really like to find the owner and see about buying it.
Some nice ones:

So I have my weekend fun car (RX-7) and I'm about to get my daily driver (94 Integra LS coupe) and this would be a perfect GT car.

I love that MR2. Almost perfect, I'd just raise it a wee, wee bit. And maybe go with less tyre stretch, but aside from that, it's friggin perfect.

And so it happens that I've been checking prices for MR2s a few days ago, and presto, such a nice one is being posted here. That's a sign, right?

Difference for me is. I am a speed freak. When an LSX doesn't change weight balance and provides the car ridiculous power at minimal cost. That's for me.

While the rotor are sweet and love one done. They just never compare in numbers to the swapped cars.

I am also the guy that would drive a pink and purple poka dotted car if it made some serious jam.

In the end it's about fast and winning. Don't matter to me what powers it.

Ok I won't lie. I will not own a Honda nor a Dodge. The S2000's while a great car is not for me. Viper again. Great car. Just not for me.

Not many LS1's could touch this:

That car eventually made over 1000whp.

Impressive, however max effort LSX's are making double that. ;)

But you did say LS1. I don't see many of them making that power.

R1600, headed back to check that out!!

I would have bought a clean Turbo model, but they're still a bit expensive for me.

I haven't spend that much time on the MR2, as I'm still two years or so from buying a car I like, but it looks like you'd have to invest a rough ten grand for a turbo model in decent condition. Suprisingly, though, you can actually find a few decent cars with low mileage...

Nice twist, is that like Honda Math? ;)

Try again with the reality of you dont know when you will die.

Basically any racer would rather die racing then in traffic on the way to race or any other unexpected way.

What you should of asked. Would you rather died on track today or off track today.

They would all answer on track doing what we love.

The chance that a driver dies on the track (particularly in the past, today is significantly safer) is well above the chance that the driver would have died that day if he wasn't racing. People are posting like they'd rather go race and die than live through the race and finish their lives.

And what the 🤬 does Honda have to do with a damn thing about this?

More LSx cars do that than 20Bs do.

Sorry about that comment. It was totally joke, one that I should of realized was not universal.

Basically liter per HP makes fast. Is Honda Math

Badly orchestrated joke. Sorry.

Do note I own a 2.0 liter and have used the fact it's small and makes power as a lever in conversations about building power with an I4.

As well it is human nature to have self preservation. Any lack of it truly is a mental disorder. ;)

Completely off-topic joke? Guess it applies as Rotary Math right now though.
