Lol at Eric getting butthurt over a Honda joke.

If you've been on Honda-tech, you'd realize that 90% of Honda owners are complete retards, so the jokes are kind of unavoidable. That's the price you've gotta pay to drive a Honda. You laugh and move on. I had it do it as well.

In any, case, if a picture is worth a thousands words, then that picture is worth far more than a thousand words. If only for that reason alone, the picture is "epic", at least to me. That is a snapshot of all aspects of F1 racing.

Anyways....

Rotary=Badass!
LS1=Nifty!

I don't *believe* there is a faster LSX powered car in the world. I could be mistaken though, hard to research these things. Fastest I could find was 6.8x

edit: Futhermore, here is a 13b in the mid 6's

Uh...I'm still waiting for someone to point out to me how my post regarding the whole crash thing had any reason to try to turn it into a personal dig based on the car I drive. I really don't give a damn about what people think of my cars. Honda owners suck dick, generally. Rotary elitism is funny though, since its so good that it got popular.

Exactly.

Extreme Brosepharianism.

And when you get the Bro40SX, MitsuBroshis, Brotrucks, Brostangs, Brobarus and Brotaries all together for a meet or something, it's bound to be an epic display of flatbill hats and DC apparel. And cool stories. About bro stuff.

Oh my, arguing about Rotaries making gobs of power. No mention of reliability. Because the many many part piston LSx will outlast any rotary making comparable power.

....would like a word.

(Yes I know it's probably a $50,000 engine, I'm just trying to make a point that engines are reliable as the builders and owners make them)

Bro why you gotta be like that.

Honda friend was over last night talking about my engine. Flatbill hat turned up, shiny sticker on the bottom. Yeah, he rides BMX.

I've never seen a flatbill hat or DC apparel at a rotary meet, just a lot of gold chains and Puerto Rican flags :P

(by the way, currently in my driveway sits a 2003 Mach 1 [azure blue], a 1989 Merkur XR4ti, a 1984 RX-7 GSL-SE, and a 1967 Mustang coupe (worked 306). I've also owned a 1991 Mustang LX coupe [never again...never again] a 1994 Honda Civic with built n/a b16a [this car was fantastic, I miss it. Don't miss typical Honda owners though, bro], and a stock 1994 Integra. Don't think I'm a fanboy on any side of any pond)

I find it funny how the R26B is always the answer to all RX fans all over the world when you talk about reliability.

Jaguar won Le Mans with the XJR9 and XJR12, and yet the roadgoing Jaguar V12s were about the least reliable thing on earth in those days.

I've owned things ranging from a Honda CRX to a Chevy Silverado, so I can't say I'm a fanboy either. I just really don't like VW's.

My answer to rotary reliability is a piston engine.

But at least they die peacefully, and not with jagged parts strewn for a mile down the highway. They kind of just lose power, get crappy mileage, and then one morning they don't start. Aw, hell.

I've driven my car every day for the last 3 years, and I haven't had a single problem. Highway mileage is a decent 20-25mpg. Engine is all original, save for exhaust, and has a little over 120,000 miles now.

The R26b is just an example for the rotary haters which far dwarf the rotary 'elitists.' The truth is, normally aspirated rotaries are typically very reliable. They are huge in the light aircraft industry with the benefit of even if they do blow, they still run for a while. 13b powered RX-7's won over 100 races in IMSA in the late 70s and 80's. The RX8GT with it's normally aspirated 20b has won multiple 24h of Daytona races. The rotary engine began with somewhat of an unreliable reputation, but came to be known as quite reliable throughout the late 70's, 80's and early 90's until the FD RX-7 with it's terrible turbo control system came out. I haven't heard any bad stories about the RX8s either, save for some early-model oiling problems that were fixed by the factory.

The only major problem with the RX8 really is how slow it is in a straight line. 240hp and 160lb-ft of torque is pretty similar to what the S2000 offers, yet the latter is quicker to 60 and through the 1/4 mile.

Yeah the 8 doesn't feel very quick. The S2k is also a few hundred pounds lighter you have to remember. I think the 8 is more fairly comparable to a Civic Si sedan or coupe, despite the seeming parallels to the 350z. Civic si and Rx-8 are pretty even in a straight line with the 8 having a slight advantage in the turns. I adore them both to be honest. I think the 8 sounds a bit better and also looks a bit better, so that's the one I'd have.

I remember a guy that had a Turbo II one year when I drove to Tuscon for a drift event. He knew the car had a cracked apex seal and already had a replacement engine waiting to go in the car, but wanted the one that was in the car to blow up before he pulled it out. Thing was shooting flames like you wouldn't believe and he was beating the crap out of that thing. Bouncing it off the limiter, etc. 🤬 wouldn't die! :lol:

I love that MR2. Almost perfect, I'd just raise it a wee, wee bit. And maybe go with less tyre stretch, but aside from that, it's friggin perfect.

And so it happens that I've been checking prices for MR2s a few days ago, and presto, such a nice one is being posted here. That's a sign, right?

They're good cars. I've owned a handful over the past few years. Turbo cars have huge potential and the NA models have incredible balance. Being from Europe you will have the pick of the litter on quality JDM imports as well. I can answer any questions you might have if you're interested.

Those rear flares kill the whole thing. It'd be hotsauce with "regular" riveted on overfenders.

Agreed. Was feeling the front-end... got lost in the weird top, then BAM! Got poked in the eye by the rear fenders... ouchie...

Loling at all the bro talk (takes notes on vocab.)
