One of the few Lamborghinis I actually like, this being my favorite.

Epic...

I always love how people come in here to complain about the stance cars and then post race cars rather than tuned street cars.

Lighten up a bit,

The thread title is fairly wide-open. Stance is thoroughly played out. What I mean by this is that at one point the 'methodology' behind stance was to achieve a specific goal. Now it is merely a style, not really different than 'Rice' or 'JDM' I'm tired of seeing it. Some examples still look good, but most do not. /opinion

I can't remember the last time I complained about the "stance cars."

And for the record, I may be the only person here that ever posts any racing car photographs which, more often than not, are fantastic and iconic to anyone who knows anything about where the "stance" look came from to begin with (motorsports) but if you have been tagging long with this thread for long enough (you have) you'd also know I have contributed to quite a large amount of the "tuned street cars" on here. Arguably some very impressive ones too. It also goes without question that the amount of "street cars" I post totally shadows the number of race cars.

Race cars are pretty played out too, I'd guess. I mean they've been around forever and all kinds of over the top versions exist.

Umm, I wasn't talking to you? Where those race cars posted by you? No? Oh, okay good.

Touchy much?

I've a sudden craving for tastefully modified FTOs (not many). Anyone care to satisfy? :)

Yes please!

God that looks stupid. Must rescue thread from retarded hella-flushness!

Thank you!

Am I missing some joke with the Japanese pride BMW? That's like putting an American flag and bald eagle on a Hyundai Sonata...

And I'm sorry, race cars are played out? Seriously? Race cars are not a style like stance, rat rods, or what have you. Race cars are a technical exercise among other things. They evolve and improve miles more than any style is capable of. That's like saying battle tanks are played out in the same way Hammer Pants are. :dunce:

Lol yeah.

Also, regarding the FTO thing, I can't seem to find many good ones let alone any good photos of good ones but here's one...

^Wont display using the IMG insert.

I managed to find a couple photso of the old JGTC GT300 FTO...

IIRC this car was raced with its original FWD layout just like the old Weds Sport Celica.

They used the 4G63...

It's beyond me why Mitsubishi didn't use the 4G63 in these cars in the first place. Would've turned out to be such a better car.

Yup, ludicrously difficult to find FTOs that haven't had an attack of The Fast and The Furious.

Few decent ones:

Unfortunately no interior shots of that last one as it was bloody awful. Colour-coded stuff everywhere and a really naff steering wheel.

Really like FTOs though. Nice cars to drive. Just better left standard.

Won't display when I click on it either.

Uploaded to my photobucket...

^Lol you can tell they're FWD just by the slip angle of the front wheels compared to the slip angle of the entire car (none.)

Love that 914. Don't care what supposed Porschephiles say, it's a proper Porsche and they can look stunning. Interior on that one is possibly even more perfect than the exterior and engine bay.

The teal Miata is right up my alley too. Really dig that look.

Re: The FTO's engine, I'm glad they went for the V6 rather than the Evo lump. Gives the car a bit of character and certainly sounds better. Definite case of performance not being everything.

Regarding the FTO engine. I agree that the V6 definitely sounds nice but I really like the sound of the 4G93 as well. And I have never been a big fan of a the whole V6 FWD car idea even though the FTO supposedly handles decently. But how cool would it have been if they came with the 4G63 and AWD?

Also, fixed a couple photos on my last post.

That picture of the Miata throwing sparks is awesome, I guess he took the motto "if sparks don't fly, you're riding too high" to heart.

Apparently the sarcastic nature of the comment was lost on you. I'll add a smiley face next time.

Fact is, every style is always changing, not just race cars. So get off the high horse.

Speaking of race car styles, here's a challenge for everyone:

Know of photos of street cars that were styled similar to a 90's BTCC racer?

Meh, the appeal of stuff like that died for me when Mitsubishi lost its competitiveness and finally pulled out of WRC. The FTO is a unique car, doesn't need much changing IMO.
