I think I'm putting down a 1:09.577 on Tsukuba. I'm using a setup based on my Spec Miata series car, back when we ran Tsukuba in the series. There's room for improvement, however.. So we'll see :/ lol

Feeling lazy, I used the DS3 for both this round. Depending on where I place, I will switch back to the G27. I know I have a bit of time to shave off but yeah. Haha, submitted my times for this week.

Still haven't found the AE86, but according to the UCD Database thread, I should run into it after 85 more GT days. So hopefully I'll have it either tomorrow or the next.

And since I'm really a noobie at all of this, I do have a couple of questions.

For the Time Trial Series: BKOTT
What exactly will these times be used for? When was the last day to submit a time and was only one time submission allowed? Just curious, I sort of assumed that last Sunday(1/30) was the cut off date for submission. I might have been able to shave some seconds off, but I would still be at the bottom.

For Seasonal Series: Act I
What exactly is is the "Vehicle Registration" due date of Feb 6th? Is this when the submission of times for Week 1A and 1B are due? And if not, when are they due?

Sorry if the answers to these questions are simple. I'm just trying to get a handle on this and also trying to figure out if I need to fit all of this into this weekend or not.

BKOTT is an ongoing series, there is no time limit. You can submit your time anytime. If you've got an improved time, you can post it in this post and I'll update your time. I will expand in this series when the time comes. :)

Both Vehicle Registration and Week1A, 1B is due on Feb 6th. Vehicle Registration is to register your car's specs so that I can check your car to see that your car is within the regulations.

Hi, everyone!

I thought I'd give this a run, for fun, and see how I might compare to others. I don't have the Sprinter Trueno yet, but I happen to have a "COROLLA LEVIN GT-APEX (AE86) '83" (fixed headlights). Can I use it for the time trial? The weight is exactly the same (940 kg). I think this is the one Takumi's opponent used in Stage 2 (mine is without turbo, of course :) ).

Anyway, I did some practice runs with 165 HP, and then some guy entered my room, and wanted to race. I told him I was just practicing, but started the race anyway. In that race I managed to get a 1:10.797 lap time, and that's without touching any of the tuning yet (all default, and no LSD yet). I think I can shave more time off that, but before I spend more time on trying for a better lap time, I wanted to make sure this car was okay to use. :)

I also was wondering if ABS should be off for the AE86 time trials, because I don't think the Fujiwara car would have had it, would it? I understand maybe it's too challenging to use a controller with ABS off, but in that case, you could have a DS3 division and a non-DS3 division (with ABS off). Just opening it up for discussion.

Anyway, I really loved Initial D. And I've only watched the first two seasons, even! Anyway, I hope I can use this Levin AE86; otherwise I'll have to rely on gifting, I think. :) My PSN ID is TakahashiRyos-ke, with a dash.

Thanks!

Edit: For comparison to the Sprinter, I can say that this Levin has 133 lb-ft / 5500 rpm torque. 1587 cc displacement.

Edit 2: Well, it turns out that I happened to see a SPRINTER TRUENO GT-APEX '83 in the UCD just now, so I got it. :) I hope this can be used for the time trial? Interestingly enough, it tunes differently than the Levin. I had to use a different mix of modifications to approach 165 HP.

Thanks Joe, but Weavty1 scares me haha. Only for tonight, I will be free around 8pm PST tonight if you wanna run that session.

TimberW, can you only submit your times once per week? I am just curious because I might want to run another session to break the 1'08 barrier on Tsukuba and 1'51 barrier on Trial Mountain.

Okee dokee, sorry that I've been sort of MIA the last couple of days, but I'm in the process of parting out and selling my S2000 (in real life, LOL). So that's been taking up a good part of my time... Sorry fellas!

Okay so, onto my vehicle registration :)

That's a very interesting discovery. I would never expect something like that!!

The main reason to get people to submit only once is really for logistical purposes. I don't want to be flooded everytime with new and better times. But since it's really the very first series, and you've submitted so early... I'll make an exception! :)

I want to use this pic at the front page for the series, is that okay?

Thanks TimberW, just with a little more tuning. I think I can get some good times in that can compete with Weavty1 :)

Nahhh nahh, not so much dude :) I'm no Schumacher! That's for sure! Lol

I've got 4 set of times so far including mine and I can tell you that it's really interesting... haha... I'm not going to give too much away at this stage, but I may have to ask for some replays...

Out of curiosity, is there a reason we have to go to the Open Lobby to record the time trials? I mean, as opposed to offline practice mode or something. Is there a difference in physics or anything?

Crap.. well we have until 11:59pm, on the 6th... right? Because I won't br available to get my runs in, until tomorrow :/ lol

Yes, the reason is to simulate tyre wear. Also, it's easier to set the number of laps you need to do to record the time trial.

Offline practice mode doesn't do this.
Aparrently there are differences in physics. You can search up threads discussing online/offline physics on GTPlanet.

Yeap, that's right. End of Sunday.

I bet those arent mine :grumpy: :banghead:

Anyway i must say that Tsukuba was the worst. Trial Mountain was great but Nurnburgring was the best so far.

Looking forward to the next event.

^I completely agree with Vasho... Tsukuba = I sail in a failboat  Trial Mountain = Sex. And the 'Ring = Fantasy threesome. 👍

I loved Tsukuba even though at one point I got into a massive drift. Good thing I didn't loose a lot of time from it and it brought some spice to the run. :D
Also, I almost forgot to register my AE86. I will do it now.

+1 👍

I wonder about LSD, too. I'm currently trying things without any LSD installed.

Heh to tell the truth the AE86 runs better without LSD at least for me.
But as i allready registerd my car with the Fully Custom LSD I have to use it. :grumpy: :yuck:

I tried afterwards a couple of rounds on Trial Mountain and the car did better than with the LSD. Its a pain to try and fine tune the LSD. Spend a looong time to make it so that it works for me.
