Intercontinental GT500 Championship Season Two - Finished

Hi Erik (and the rest of the drivers in ICGTC).

3D3 Racing is hosting and promoting a friendly single race challenge between the various current GTPlanet GT500 leagues. The idea is to have up to four individual GT500 leagues on GTPlanet send 3-4 drivers to compete against drivers from other leagues in a single race event. Team points will be earned, and a league winner crowned, based on the finishing position of the top 3 drivers on each team.

See our thread in the "interest checks" forum and leave a message if you and/or any of the drivers in your the series are interested. We've already got commitments from a three series (including a verbal commitment from PURE JGTS) and would love it if your series would be willing to send 3-4 drivers to represent you. Car choice and grid spots are on a first come first serve basis.

You don't have to commit to any specific drivers at this point and the ultimate choice of which and how many drivers would represent your series would be completely up to your series (and probably to a great extent scheduling).

This is just a one time "fun" event and no further commitment expected/required. Regulations are simple and cars homologized so they are not a factor. The biggest challenge will of course be scheduling a time that works for all drivers, but we'll do our best and given it's just a single event and not an ongoing commitment I think we can pull it off.

Thanks,

GTP_WRP001 / Tim

I'd be ok with participating, but I'd need to know time & date in advance.

I'd also be fine with giving my position to someone else if they wanted to take the opportunity instead.

i'd love to join too, but i think the fastest people should join and represent our championship it'l be great to see our drivers with the top spots..

I personally base my speed on hours and hours of setting up my car to just what I want. And now I think I will use a lot of time planing, testing and collect interests for next season. But I don't mind anyone else do it. Make us proud!!

Sounds like a very fun concept :)

What are you trying to say? Hmm? :yuck:

haha dont get me wrong.. i think Everyone here has a chance of winning this thing. our championship is packed full of talent and great drivers.. your one of them too arkano :D:tup: he says we can have up to 3/4 drivers.. the more we have the better chance i guess..

Turns out so far there has been quite a bit of interest in the Inter-League challenge we have official entries from three series so far and strong interest from a fourth via PM although they haven't officially signed up. And it looks like we have the potential for 6 series participate. 👍

If that turns out to be the case 3D3 is going to run two time slots. One EU friendly and one NA friendly and each series gets two reserved spots in each time slot and can then trade spots with other leagues. It'll still be top 3 drivers scoring points for each team and no driver is allowed to race in both so if only 3 can make it you don't get completely handicapped although obviously it's an advantage to send a fourth.

Ideally we'd like to see this challenge take place between Nov 28 and Dec 7 and will propose time options by the end of this week.

One of you can just state your formal interest as a league in the thread and pick drivers later (based on availability for the final time slots agreed upon or whatever criteria you decide). I know scheduling is the toughest part, but hope we can get it to work out. Also you'll want to state which car you would prefer on our thread. They are homologized so as to be as equal as possible, but if you sign up first you'll get preference.

Pretty nice thoughts on it, but I suggest you do the whole thing as quarterfinals, semi and Finals :D

Oh boy, now everyone gets to see what happens when you don't practice all over again.

You should re-sign up for season 3 :embarrassed: Would love to see the highlights back each week in season 3 :)

Here's the video. :) It's still processing at the moment so just give it a few mins. ;)

I'll upload the rest asap.

We are actually moving in that direction a little with a proposed semi-final and final round format... Individual leagues would be responsible for the quarterfinals if they want to run that internally to determine their 4 driver reps. MRC for example is doing just that and using that shootout as practice for their drivers as well. (See this.)

hmmm inter league racing sounds nice, depending on the date id be up for that.

We are honing in on a date/time now and Dec 3 at 20:00 GMT is being proposed. If you guys want some input sign up on the thread (at least tentatively) and assign a team captain (doesn't have to be one of the rep drivers) to provide input on time and car choice, etc. You don't have to make final decisions on drivers or car just yet although if you have an idea you can pick them.

We've already got 5 leagues signed up with one spot remaining and I'm hoping you guys can take that spot. 👍

I won't "barge in" on your thread again. If you have any interest, suggestions or questions please have your captain post them to the thread.

Good day!

same for me. I usually only get some screen time when someone laps me :)

But it makes me sad to watch the replay again. I was ready to get some high points untill i DC'd. You don't see it on replay, but i took first place right before i DC'd.

Good day!

i can start for ouer league

Sorry for one more barge in guys, but you are about to get bumped from the inter-league challenge. It may already be too late. We are limited to 6 leagues in the current format and I haven't heard from any of you on the thread after multiple invites. There is another series signing up and if they are currently hosted on GTPlanet (which is not yet verified) there will likely not be a spot left for Intercontinental.

EDIT: Turns out they are not active on GTPlanet so there is still a single league spot left.
