It's rather discouraging that you are forced to run tuned cars with lots of downforce on unrealistic tires...but at least it's a change from that horrid HSR event we had last time.

I'm sure PD will bring back sports car racing on realistic tires at some point. I'm waiting for it just like you seem to be.

Hope so... I'm going to give this event a decent go before I comment more - I just fear that I'll get bored of the mega grip R3 tyres pretty quickly.

It's the best PP750 event to date. Add me on PSN and if you'd like we can meet there sometime and run F430 on S1s together behind the pack. It might actually be worth creating a new thread for people who want to run sports cars on S1 or S2 tires. I'm sure there would be a few. We could race off the main 00-15-30-45 schedule, say 5-20-35-50?

Just thought I'd comment on the hacks/punters out there in regards to my frustrations.

I must say, if I don't get a good start (where I'm able to put a couple of cars on the field), it seems like I continually get punted off into the sand pit at the start of the race by either some disrespectful jackass, or by some rookie who isn't focused on the road ahead and really shouldn't be driving in the Expert class. It's frustrating as hell! Once I get back on the course, no more than 3 seconds later I to get held up by either the road hogs that are way off the pace, or punters with no skill that magically manages to clip the last inch of my bumper out of desperation to use me as a mobile armco. I had three races in row where this happened at the start of the race. I dropped back roughly 20 seconds from the leader at the second sector alone and was luckily able to catch up and win 2 out of those 3 races. Poor Redwings had the same problem in one of our races. lol

Luckily the races are quite long so that gives you a reasonable amount of time to catch up. It's not so much a sprint race as the previous 3 lap 750 events have been. Usually anyone who is less than a solid driver goes off the track several times throughout the race, which makes catching up a little easier than at Fuji as well. Another thing regarding the start at Suzuka. Even though Fuji was a mosh pit at the first turn, at least the track has plenty of asphalt run off area to allow you to maintain a decent pace without losing tire grip if you did happen to get punted off. If you get punted off at the first turn at Suzuka you're in the sandpit for several seconds and then have to manage a decent pace going through the chicane on greasy tires without getting knocked off the road again by some moron behind you. This event REALLY should have been made a rolling start. :ouch:

On another note, my Mines R34 is starting to pick up the pace quite nicely. :sly: And as others have mentioned, the GTLM seems to be on a pace a level above the rest. At least if the pilot can control the thing.

to much oversteer with the Lotus Rudi.

Lol i almost lost it in the :00 race last time was to busy concentrating on rudi in the gravel trap parked as i came round to lap him. Luckily i managed to hold it and went on for a cruise to the finish with a 10:12.

My strategy is to go half throttle away from the starting line until the first corner, so all the punters get past and then let them spin out. Better than a 20 second gap and a lot of frustration. I totally agree with you that it is crazy to have to be so defensive around these drivers, and when they have a chance to show you some respect back, they take your head off... :ouch:

Great racing people

Sorry to...
Konvex I nudged you at casino triangle
To SLO-Aleska for the nudge at T1
To GTP_Initial D for what looked to be blocking his way
To uk86ze at the haripin my entrance angle cause you to get nudged

and to anyone else that had contact with me.

At last I got a 1'59'xxx at last after getting pissed after a clio took me out. 👍

That bloody Lotus...it's a handful no matter how you set it up. Maybe the most frustrating car in the game. I want to love it but it always seems to dislike my turn in!!! Its the car I want to drive for this event, just need to work on setup.

Hehe, was 11th after I had an emergency in the sand. Did a 1:57.4 with the tuned Viper in the next lap....

My gearing was all over the place at my last race. Sorry Grim Reaper for taking the shortcut at the chicane near the end at one lap, it was to avoid you and not taking advantage since my brakes weren't hot at the time so I had to dive out of the way! Thankfully I was invisible at the time so nothing happened. My 6th gear was rubbish so I need to work on that and 3rd and 4th needs a bit of extending.

Pay attention to the power/torque graph when tuning your gears to try to maximise your engines potential when you shift into another gear.

Sorry to uk86ze at the exit of turn one. I was in the grass and came back on the Tarmac right in front of you. You bumped me and I hope it didn't cause a penalty for you.

I decided to wait in the grass after that for everyone to get by.

We did have a nice back and forth there during the last couple of laps, though.

No Probs. :)

And who is that setcaptain (DE)? Two races ruined because of him punting also.
He's a member of GTRP, and normally he's known as a fair and clean driver. I don't know, why he ruined your race. I'm sure, it wasn't his intention.

He had me off three times in two races, by trying to pass me in un realistic corners.

Oh boy, Extreme respect to Timppaq for that last race, it was stellar. Supreme comeback!

What was the final time you got?

Yeah he is good driver when I raced him at HSR, maybe he having difficulty adjusting with the new car and track.

I think he got a 10:13.xx...I forgot. It was a fairly close finish. I made two mistakes which put me out of contention for the lead...oh well. See you guys around! 👍
