  • How did you find GTPlanet?
I happened across a link about the PSVR2 that was posted here and started exploring.
  • Where are you from?
Tidewater Virginia. My city was recently in the news actually.
  • When did you start playing racing games?
The first racing game I can vividly remember playing, I was 6 years old on the PS2 with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Still remember my dad telling me about the Mclaren F1 in there being the fastest car in the world.
  • Do you play with a steering wheel? If so, what kind do you use?
I had a T150 I for a while and that was alright but Mrs. Claus got me a Logitech G29 that I love and I’ve put many miles on this new year.
  • What other games do you enjoy?
Other than GT7, when my friends are on, I’ll play CoD though I don’t enjoy it much. Asseto Corsa Competizione, Car X Drift, Destiny 2, F1 Manager
  • What are you most looking forward to doing in the community?
Finding some buddies who enjoy cars and racing around as much as I do. The friends I play with don’t play racing games and driving alone gets kinda boring. Maybe a league for GT7 of some sort. General News updates.

I discovered this wonderful website fairly easy because of the popularity rating, and because if you have any questions at all, in relevance to any of the GT games this is the first link that pops up. I’m very glad that I did start doing my research through GTplanet.net. If not for some of the users on here, mainly one of them if I’m being honest I would’ve probably already thrown my hands up at this game by now. This user whom I’ve acquired a pretty substantial amount of respect and admiration for certainly makes it appear or seem that they spend 23 1/2 hours a day on the game, and has been since it first came out. I don’t think there is very many cars that this person doesn’t have on there personal profile section I guess you would say. AnyWho, I enjoy reading what users have to talk about and express on here, especially since it’s mainly about race car games lol, and it’s one of my biggest hobbies. Well that’s it for me. Thanks for the hospitality to all that provide information on here that can possibly help the next person that needs it!!

-How did you find GTPlanet?
Usual result from Google any time I find info about GT7.

-Where are you from?
Spain.

-When did you start playing racing games?
Around 2002, with Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and Grand Prix 4.

-Do you play with a steering wheel? If so, what kind do you use?
No.

-What other games do you enjoy?
WoW, Rocket League and single players.

-What are you most looking forward to doing in the community?
Just learn.

Hello GTPlanet! I'm new here.

I'm 52 years young and after gaining an 1/3rd ownership share in my son's PS5 and then setting up our basement to be a comfy gaming zone, I've recently got back into gaming. It's been years since I gamed but I have always loved racing games, starting with the original GT on the 90s but stopping at GT5 on PS3. I also like rally sims, starting with Collin McCrae Rally and my last being Dirt Rally on MacOS. It's been a while...

Well I'm back, diving deep into GT7 on the PS5 now. Been playing three weeks now and up to Cafe book 37 so nearly done. I would love a proper sim rig but $$ not there now. But I did get the Logitech G29 with the Playseat Challenge. Basic, but it works!

I discovered GTPlanet after starting to research how to tune better and seeking tips for which cars to get.. I'm also starting to venture into daily races but I'm having some issues there. I seemingly always qualify around 11 to 13th on the grid and invariably get punted off the track by someone behind me in the first few corners... Guess that is what happens when your DR is D and SR is B; you get put with other imbaciles.. Need to work on that DR and SR to get into a better group..

I'm originally from the UK but have lived in the USA since 2000. Currently in Wisconsin (here's a pic of me at Road America).

In the past, I used to go by the gaming handle "TheNormsk" but currently on GT7 I'm using "TheSlowGreyOne" to embrace me getting old... LOL. I might change back to TheNormsk once I get better again. "Normsk" is a derivative of a nickname my friends gave me in the 90s and I added "The" to it to be like The Stig from Top Gear in the early 00s. Hence The Normsk. :)

Here's my current stats after three weeks playing. Say hi if you see me on the daily races, not that I figured out how chat works yet...

I guess I should actually introduce myself hehe!

Been driving GT since my first PS3. Found this forum while looking for ways to still use my G25 wheel on PS5. Guess I’m buying the G29. On a controller for now.

Have used GT for fun, as well as training for club racing IRL. Raced successfully on the US east coast for a few years. GT7 Sport mode is a fun way to get back into the competitive environment, though I have to admit similarities are there, but not as tightly linked as one might hope. Though the theory of the techniques are there, IRL racing is so much more. I used GT to practice relaxing, breathing, looking ahead, focus (and not stress about guy in mirror lol). Anyways, I digress.

Now in my 40s. Online I go as the user “An” and usually drive a car clad in the transgender flag colors. C and S rating.

Be great to meet others to drive with and learn how to go faster. Trying to find a wheel setup that works in the living room with kids and wife.

Cheers!

What is up fellow racers??

Very happy to have stumbled upon this website as I’ve been looking to elevate my GT7 experience.

I’m an Englishman living in New York City.

I started playing Mario Kart on N64 and then got hooked on all the GT games. Recently invested in a racing seat and Logitech G29 wheel and pedal set. Looking to upgrade to a Fanatec but waiting to see if GT7 gets released on PC.

I’m really excited to join the racing leagues on GT7 as I find the daily races very hit and miss and are sadly full of players that aren’t that serious at racing.

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Hello good people of GTplanet!

My name is Chris but go by "Kudu". I am an old disabled racer trying to get back into racing sims. I used to have a good Logitech setup back in the day but have had to virtually get rid of everything (almost literally) I owned in order to live. I have a paralysed left arm and my left leg has been amputated above the knee due to a horrific crash during a stunt show on motorcycles I was performing in back in 2001. It ain't easy if you are a "disabled" (the word they use to describe my abilities, haha) to find employment if you live in South Africa. Exchange rate is ridiculous and the standard of living is dropping at an alarming rate... We live under constant blackouts due to our power grid being so antiquated. At the moment I am using a joystick to race with but would really like to upgrade to a force feedback wheel again soon. Anyway, as soon as I can get enough cash to buy a wheel (even a basic force feedback setup will suffice, I will be sharing a lot of content on Youtube to help give other people in a similar situation around the world a little motivation to still have the best fun you could ever have from behind a pc, or console and tv. Anyway. I am excited to start a new challenge. I wish you all very well and hope to eventually see you all online sometime.

Kudu

Hello all,

I am considering purchasing ACC and maybe AC. I have recently acquired an Xbox Series X.

I am new to Assetto Corsa and Assetto Corsa Competizione and Xbox so I think I may require some tips at some time in the future.

A brief history: -

I have been interested in motor racing since an early age. In my twenties I observed it at close quarters, in the pits with friends who raced. As I have been around for some time and I remember the first PC racing game that came out. I think it was Revs on the BBC 1 PC. I played most of the titles on PC over the years.

About twelve years ago I started racing online with GTL on a gaming PC. so, I got used to online racing. I used a G27 wheel and peddles with a G25 shifter. I set everything up to feel as realistic as possible. I think I last raced online getting on for five years ago as my other interests meant I did not have the time to practice. I have not used my PC for sim racing for a couple of years now but I am getting withdrawal symptoms.

I have recently acquired an Xbox Series X and have a large screen TV on a stand at the right height for sim racing. I hear ACC is a pretty realistic racing sim so think with the right setup it should be very immersive. The TV and Xbox are in my lounge so I am thinking of considerably upgrading my sim racing setup. After very recent price reductions I have set my budget to include the following equipment.: - Thrustmaster TS-XW Servo Base; P310 Mod Wheel; T-LCM Peddles, (possibly a TH 8A Shifter) and a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0. Any opinions or advice would be welcome.

If all goes well and I can get up to speed I would like to race online again with other human beings. I may be able to challenge the back markers with a bit of luck. Are there online races for Xbox Series X users?

Cheers

Hi everyone!

I'm a very out of practice Gran Turismo player and decided to get GT7 and a rig for the game. I'm finding the forums for GT7 very helpful, but any tips or advice that anyone has for either cars to use, setups for the cars or even mods for my racing wheel (Fanatec GT DD PRO and I already bought the CLS Pedal and 8Nm upgrades for it.) or just general information, I would appreciate it!

My friend Dilan sent me a link to a post from 16 January 2016, concerning Ferrari 275 GTB/C LM24 GT NART #26 Giampiero[sic] Biscaldi 1966, which is s/n 09015, and after reading the post, I thought this might be a cool place to hang.

EDIT: I'm from California, I haven't played a racing game in years, I like Jeopardy (Jeopardy's a game, right?), and I'm most looking forward to Ferrari-related content.

Hello everyone,
i've known the forum for a long time. But I've only ever read.

I'm 50 years young and I've been playing racing games since Sega Rally on the Saturn. Most of the time I drive with the steering wheel, but also with a controller on all platforms.

I live in Germany but plan to emigrate in the next 5 years.

Greetings to all
