How did you find GTPlanet? I was searching for some custom tuning settings for cars in GT7.
Where are you from? Pennsylvania, USA
When did you start playing racing games? Mostly just played casual racers in the past like NFS Underground and Forza Horizon. GT7 is my first sim racer.
Do you play with a steering wheel? If so, what kind do you use? I use the PS5 vanilla controller.
What other games do you enjoy? Mostly play single player games. RPGs, action games, platformers, etc.
What are you most looking forward to doing in the community? Just wanting to get better and learn some more about the nuances of GT7.

I found GT planet while searching Google I use a hori wheel I love the Australian v8 supercars and Nascar series just wanted to connect to more people in the sim community.

GTPlanet threads frequently come up from various Google searches, have found them to be very helpful.
I'm from Canada. Had slot car tracks as a kid, not sure if that counts. Began with pc racing games in the Windows 95 era.
Currently driving with Fanatec GT DD Pro setup. Most of my gaming currently involves racing, also enjoy first person shooters.
Hope to expand my knowledge base through GTPlanet forums, will try to contribute anytime I can provide advice/assistance.

Hi, I’m Mike.

1. I found GT Planet because for the last fortnight I’ve been binge-listening to the Time Extend podcast. I only just found out that existed and it’s been great going through them all. Unfortunately I’m almost caught up now which is sad. Also, sorry, I really don’t share in their enthusiasm for Shox. Everything else though!

2. I live just outside Sunderland in the Uk, although I’m originally from Berkshire in the South West.

3. I wasn’t a gamer - at all - until my parents bought me a PlayStation in 1997 for Christmas, so I was 12. It came with Porsche Challenge, and the demo disc had Ridge Racer and Formula One. The rest is history.

4. I don’t use a steering wheel. I’d love to get a proper setup but my wife would divorce me as she already thinks playing video games is a bit icky for a grown adult. I don’t care.

5. I really like all games really, but find increasingly I’m playing racing games because I have a small toddler and time is at a premium so I can just jump in and out of racers. When I get a day to myself I’ve promised myself I’ll get into Unchartered, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn….but I never get a day to myself so it’ll never happen. I’m also very much into retro consoles. I have a PS2, a Dreamcast, stuff like that, and a cupboard full of pretty much every racing game I’ve ever owned - sometimes with two or three copies of the same game because the disc was too scratched, or I wanted to see if it was better on Xbox360 than PS3, etc etc.

6. Don’t know. When I join a forum it’s always kinda 50:50 whether I’ll stick around and still be posting ten years later, or vanish after two days and never be seen again.

I’m kinda de-sensitised to it now after so many years, I even quite enjoy listening to the Police helicopter hovering overhead as I try to fall asleep.

How did you find GTPlanet? I was looking for some GT content to get over the time I have to wait for my preordered PS5 as I`m really hyped for getting startet with some racing again. My last GT was GT Sport on the PS4 and round about 2.5 years ago I stopped gaming as I had not the time for it because me and my wife bought a house. Some weeks ago a friend of mine joked around that I have to get me a PS5 because of the upcoming Diablo4. Luckily my wife said go for it and so I did
Where are you from? I`m located in the west of Germany near the Netherland´s border.
When did you start playing racing games? I think it started with NFS Underground and NFS Porsche on PC back in the late 90´s/early 2000´s.
Do you play with a steering wheel? If so, what kind do you use? GT Sport on PS4 I raced with controller but was always looking for the steering wheels jealously. In the end I always stuck with the controller moneywise. Now I have the opportunity to buy a Logitech G29 from a friend who used it only once to realize that he doesn´t enjoy it. So I´m really looking forward to starting racing with a steering wheel to getting a more realstic feeling/sim racing.
What other games do you enjoy? I`m fan of the Diablo franchise and like it even more since it got on the consoles. Really waiting for D4 so.
What are you most looking forward to doing in the community? Meeting other people who like GT as me and getting some tips to improve my driving skill. Eventually I´ll join some of the livery contests (if I have the time to) as in GT Sport I liked doing my own liverys besides racing.

Hmm when did I start playing racing games? Way back in the last century (mid 80s?), probably Outrun on some old school console

Don't use a steering wheel

I like golf simulations both online and via the PS where the grandson enjoys beating me up on Rocket League

Picking up tips to improve my driving, with a view to helping others if and when I can! 😎

Getting back into gran turismo finally and boy, the tuning seems overwhelming haha. Would be awesome to race with new people and learn how to tune my own cars!

I was looking for somewhere to give suggestions for GT7 when I stumbled on this place and honestly I'm happy I did.

I'm Mexican bur currently living in Canada.

I started playing racing games since I was like 7 or 10 years old, I think my first racing game was a sonic one. After a few years I got gt6 and remember my dad being so hyped about it and after playing the game for a few hours I understood why.

I love playing multi-player competitive games, Valorant, Fortnite, Overwatch because I enjoy playing them with friends and having a nice chat while playing.

I would love to help the community with new ideas for the game and hopefully some will be implemented into this great game.

Well old age and persistence got me here. Not GT planet, actually posting a message.
I am really hoping this is the introduce yourself page.
I retired 11 years ago [ before social media and smart phones ] living the dream, minus the reflexes of youth.
I found this site while looking for a hard copy of beyond the apex.
I started with Playstation gaming at the PS3. I bought the version that came with a key-ring, Nissan R32 in a plastic case, and the Beyond the Apex Booklet. It was great. I learned so much. I was a data analyst, loved driving fast, never knew how it all worked beyond the broad strokes.
My decision to buy a PS5 [ amid panic in the marketplace ] was based on the release date of GT7.
Have zero complaints about the game, only praise for how great it is.
I use a Fanatec CSL elite and the first esportsF1 wheel. It works.

Hey all,
I got into racing games as a kid growing up in North Africa in the 90s, with NFS 2 and It's sequels on one hand, and Gran Tourismo (mostly 2 then 4) on the other. It was one if m'y favorite genres up to the 2010s, and I got back to it only in the last couple of years. Probably thanks to the motorstorm franchise on PS3 that I discovered thanks to emulation. It brought me back to GT4, tryin to realize a childhood dream by collecting all cars all the while going for max spec points.
I always played on gamepad, I'd love to try a wheel someday tho.
GT Planet has been a precious ressource for that. It's funny seeing old threads with people going through the same questions years ago.
I'm creating an account so I can be part of the conversation when I feel like it, who knows it could be read by someone like me years from now and be of some use I hope.

Hi

I discovered GT Planet form a Youtube video, looking to improve my skills in cars liveries.
As much as Cars Racing games allows to personnalise cars, I liked to ride my own creations.
I don't think I rode many GT7 cars in a "standard" livery.

Then, I found some help on Discord for the solo mode, and a new French team, I did the gr3 liveries for.

I started racing games on PS1 with the first GT and Destruction Derby.
I only play with the pad.
I also play other games (I loved Ghost of Tsushima, I like Cyberpunk, GTA...)

I will try to participate to the livery editor competition, to improve my skills, but without any "ambition"... I am not a designer

I found you guys from an internet search.
I'm from the United States.
I guess my first racing game was Need for Speed. Then my friend suggested getting GT7 which is my first GT game, and now I play it more than him.
With my work bonus I plan on getting a Sim setup. Just a Logitech G29 wheel with gearshift and a racer cosplay to stream with lol.
Like I said I play Need for Speed but mostly GT7 when I want to race. GTAV for the casual drive around since gas prices are so high lol. And a vast majority of PS Exclusives.
I just made my first thread about wanting some cars added to the game and wanted to see the communities response and hopefully someone can get in touch with developers as I haven't been able to find contact information for them lol.

== I recently installed PS2 emulator on my caveman-pc and tried to play GT3 (for me, it's the best of best of Gran Turismo), but my PC roughly can emulate the game with 8x (5k), only with 2.5x quality. I read about the texture graphics and thank to google, i found one for GT3 on this place!

Where are you from? - I'm from England but have lived in the Phillipines for the past few years.
When did you start playing racing games? - When I was 6 years old. My first was Super Hang On on the Sega Megadrive.
Do you play with a steering wheel? If so, what kind do you use? - Not currently.
What other games do you enjoy? - Assetto Corsa, Football Manager, Cities Skylines.

I'm a wheel users and the wheel I use is the new Logitech G pro DD with a next level racing cockpit
I like big RP games like God of War and games similar
I really want to join and/or create a good league with serious drivers looking to improve their own skill if anyone could steer me in a good direction that would be dope af.

I'm old, and have been playing racing games since Out Run.

I'm currently playing Dark Souls, which is basically Gran Turismo license tests, but with swords.
