I'm 16 and I bought iRacing with my mum's credit card. Albeit it was 2 days before they changed the account to my name, so no biggy.

So for 2 days, your mum was hella fast!! :dopey:

Nope both teams ran the ARX-01C last year at Le Mans

Also i searched the entire iRacing forum for strakka and could only find one post even mentioning it and it wasn't by a staff member.

Steve Myers how ever said

But that also dosnt make sense since Highcroft came 25 overall and 9th in class. Strakka on the other hand does not have ties to the US series. That is the only post I can find by a staff member on the subject. So what im getting from his post is we are getting the HPD ARX-01C version of the car and as for which team it doesnt actually matter since they both ran the same version. They probably posted the highcroft information because it is just easier logistically to get the data from that team then strakka.

It was me who asked him that question, i took it like it was the Strakka we were getting and that the guys have said wrong etc.

But i see what you mean and of course it´s like that. The Highcroft ARX-01c is what we will get.

Duh, I should have looked at the last names and i could have put 2 and 2 together. :ouch:

First names you mean ? :P

Hampus Andersson

I wish they would start filling up the ALMS GT2 class they will have with the Ford GT but it seems they only pick one car from each series for some reason.

Agreed. I know it is tough to get the licenses, but the car selection has been like throwing darts, and as a result, it spreads members across a bunch of different series and cars that can't run together.

My guess is that they understand now that they need to focus now on consolidating the cars and series that can run WITH and AGAINST each other so as not to further dillute the series. The Orbis broadcasted race, for example, showed 3 cars that can run together in the same class.

Yea i missed watching the Orbis event but i have been hosting servers with the three cars the days before and it´s alot of fun :)

I just need the M3 GT2 to find it´s way in and i´m all good :D What a monster!

Here´s another video of a pretty cool overtaking manouver i did that probably never will happen again :)

Whoah! That was awesome! I'll dock you a tenth of a point for the 1x through the grass, but you still get a 9.9 for style and difficulty!!! 👍

If your videos are good, post them in the below iRacing videos thread using the youtube formatting button so it embeds video in the thread. If someone hsa never seen iRacing before, that thread should get their juices flowing. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=130205

Now with YOUTUBE tags added. :D

Nice move, Ex-Lax. ;) And what did your rivals have to say about it?

What the hell does that mean :D ex-lax. It´s my brothers account btw.

Well the guy i did the overtake said it reminded him about Schumacher/Häkkinen at Spa.

Just wanted to say how awesome traffic eye and situation awardness did mr. Hampus Anderssen (or Andersson) have at our race (http://members.iracing.com/membersite/m ... stid=18021).

I got cought behind Mustang after T7. I went for inside of him to T8 braking, but at the same time Hampus driving behind me went outside of him, got better line to T8 and overtook me at the apex. Really spectacular overtaking even while I had major rear end damage and I was 1,5sec slower per lap than normal. But still really really good situation awardness from him. That move was totally like Häkkinen at Spa 2000 against Schumacher.

-That vid still gives me goose bumps, after 10 years

I really hope that he saved the replay and would post it here.

And he commented on the clip with a smiley ;)

Ex-Lax, if memory serves, was a laxative product from about a decade back or more. Dunno if that is still sold in grocery stores and pharmacies... That line comes from a movie from I think the mid-to-late '80's where some kids made a spacecraft out of a carnival Tilt-a-Whirl ride. I remember seeing an ad for it where one of them crashed through a drive-in-movie screen and his buddy said "Nice move, Ex-Lax...." in commenting on his piloting skills, or lack thereof.;)

The clips do bring to mind one question that I have to ask - did any of the drivers finish the race with clean underwear? :dopey:

<Code has now been used.>

I've received a promotional code for a one month free subscription with iRacing. It is of no use to me as I'm already a member but it does say it can be passed on if that is the case. I think it is a single use code so PM me if you're interested - first come, first served!

i see :)

Well it´s pretty hairy when you have two cars that are so far apart in terms of performance so there are some close calls for sure but the mustang drivers are excellent really. The track doesn´t make things easier either since it´s a roller coaster through the woods :)
But it´s cool because even though the guy in front is like 5-6 seconds ahead. You can still catch him if a mustang holds him up.
And you really try to sneak past mustang and hoping the guy behind have to wait before he can continue so it makes the racing interesting for sure.

So the answer to your question is no lol :D

Has anybody else tried the new build? I've haven't noticed many changes at all and can't even really tell the difference with the new FMod sound... But anyway, we'll see I suppose when I begin driving the cars and setting them up again.

Also, did anybody race in the Daytona 2.4 this morning? I didn't bother as it was 4:30am my time, but wanted to. Saying that I knew i'd be racing in a league at Australian Virtual Racing which is pretty much the same thing. But also includes the Corvette. Plus it has prize money. :)

I was thinking about racing in the 2.4 but the crazy time stopped me. I like my sleep too much. :P

This season I'm thinking of attacking 2 classes properly, instead of just racing random stuff. I think I'll be doing trucks and F1; any of you guys are going to do either of those classes?

I may do the F1 series this season to attempt getting a Pro license. But i'll also just be doing the usual V8 Supercar and Truck races when I feel like it. I'll probably race all the NASCAR stuff at Superspeedways and road courses, but otherwise probably won't race it.

IZOD Indycar series is coming too, so I may do that....

See now looks what's happened. I want to race everything. :(

I did the Rolex 2.4hr,

Qualified with a time of 39.9 and started 20th in the sixth split.
0.2 seconds between first to last :D Sounds like a perfect race doesn´t it?

Well, i managed to get up to 15th after 2-3 laps until a guy decided to use me as his brakes before the bus stop which ment i would be atleast a lap down on the leaders which i knew i could catch. I knew i had a tow but i refused to run 2.4hrs while being a lap down because of some dude who don´t know what racecraft is.
So i logged out pissed as hell and just chilled.

Btw, has anyone tried the Gymkhana challenge? It´s superfun stuff with the SRF.

Yeah I've done a bit of it with the MX-5. Got a 46.0. I can probably go a tenth quicker, maybe a tenth and a half, but I'd need to do a million laps until a good one falls together so I've given up where I am.

I noticed that on the new build, the Ford Falcon is actually drivable now, but the setups can be made to get it loose like it should be. I can actually control the thing around Phillip Island, even though I'm about 3 seconds off the pace .

I'm still also learning how to effectively drive the Roadster, but think I have finally found my technique for it. I trail brake, get the car real loose and ease on the throttle to be loose all of the way around of the corner and this technique improved my laguna seca lap from 1:42.2 to 1:41.2. I also need to learn better throttle control for the Jetta to spin the tires less coming out of a corner to save the tires.

Yesterday, I did a 20 lap race on Summit Point to practice for the Grand Touring Cup's first race day. My front Left was worn down to 60%. Maybe a little more tire saving would benefit?

Anyhoo, the build overall feels like the cars react in a more predictable manner to my inputs. I like the new build.

I haven´t tried the V8 yet but i just jumped in the F1 and man "i can really keep it on track now" :D

I could do several laps without any practice. Just knowing the track. Felt really nice and like you said i think the tyres handle much better now.

I can't wait for the maintenance to end! Only problem is that I have to go to class at 3 PM :ouch:. I'll be able to race some time around 715 PM AKST (4 AM GMT) in the Grand Touring Cup.

I had a bash at the new patch last night, the F1 car seemed the same to me, as did the MX5, though i was surprisingly able to drive the Spec Racer Ford a lot easier than i remember. Can't see anywhere that mentioned the tyre model changing though, i thought that was meant to be in the future, its not in the patch notes.
