Is it going to be gradually implemented or all at once? For drivers who have bad races(like myself  ) I'm curious as to what the Sr. implications are

He didn't say. He said something along the lines that it WILL be implemented for rookie series, but that he didn't see any harm in implementing it in all series. If they do decide to do it service-wide I doubt they'll do it all at once.

I don't think anyone with the occasional awful race should worry too much -- he said incidents will vary by series, race and track length, with an average from 12 to 17. You'd have to have a VERY bad race in order to be booted from it. This is more aimed at taking crashers out of races. :)

An incident is an incident, and it should count. If you can't complete a race (even a 70 minute endurance race) with less than 15 incidents, you should probably reevaluate your driving. It only takes a slight alteration of your line to avoid the 1x's at Spa.

With that being said, it's been confirmed via Twitter that we aren't getting the Ruf for S4. :(

That makes sense. I just competed in the grand am at Indy and had 19 incidents in which only 11 were my fault (stupid other drivers), so I can see how it mighy chap a few rear ends from time to time

Bathurst is still going to be hellafun... but yeah, that ruf would of been sweet to have. Looks like it'd be a high participation series if it's by itself.

Typical iRacing.. :( I guess they never did promise it really..

Yep, that's why I was hoping they confirmed it when you posted all those pics. Getting our hopes up is never a good thing in this business.

I'm pretty sure no one is especially looking forward to the AWD anyways. I say release it without it.

I think if they wouldn't have said anything in that ISR interview people wouldn't have cared as much

Bathurst was said to have been on the upcoming Pro Series schedule, but in the drafts we have been sent it doesn't appear on the calender.

Thank god in a way because that would have been hell for us, maybe only 7 or 8 people would actually finish without damage....

It's primarily for rookies I think, so it is extra incentive to be careful

Wait till you get stuck on a Proto/GT race with no split and 20 morons driving HPDs and you'll quickly this is badly needed at the top of the iRacing lader more than in any other series.

It only takes a slight alteration of your line to avoid the 1x's at Spa.

It will also teach you the correct and fastest line around Spa!
;-)

I was thinking of running the Mustang this week since it is at Gilles Villeneuve until I noticed that participation is horrible. No races have gone official at the time slots that I am available and only 7 races have gone official all week. I can't believe how bad that is.

I've been in a fair share of no split races where the talent level is mediocre and that's being very generous in both oval and road. I haven't had iracing long enough or had time enough to get my Sr up high enough to get to proto gt to experience that. It is 100% necessary in all rookie series

Not sure what the policy on real names here is, and I certainly feel guilty for poking fun at people's names, but this is just to great:D

So I joined up for iRacing a few days ago. Surprised the way it handles, I would have thought they would have been able to improve the game physics to a decent standard but it seems quite poor from the little I have driven so far. Maybe I joined too early. Does anyone else find the Cadillac CTS-V Racecar very hard to drive.

The CTS-V is a very tough car for rookies, it really should be C or D class. Start off with the MX-5, until you understand how the game handles you should stick to the lower end cars. The current tire model (NTM v4) is pretty bad IMO, there isn't much grip, but V5 should be applied for most cars at the end of this season (2 weeks from now).

After watching the Bathurst 1000 yesterday, week 13 and Bathurst can't come soon enough!

The iRacing engine is one of the most realistic out there. But not all of the cars are modelled (in terms of physics and handling) equally accurately/realistically. Some are better than others, as those who race the real things can attest. And, of course, the tire model is always evolving and improving (it's up to version 5 right now, but has yet to be applied to every car in the service).

However, it is far more accurate than any console game. It is less of a game and more of a simulator, and so many of the tricks that work in a console racing game don't work in iRacing. Then again, they don't work in the real world either.

iRacing skills are somewhat unique to iRacing since it is neither as unrealistic as a video game nor as realistic as the real thing (you can't feel the car under you, for instance). Throw away all your preconceptions and expectations, treat it like an entirely new discipline, and you'll have much better success (and you'll probably enjoy it more).

Source? I've been reading that it will be a slow rollout, with a handful of cars updated every season. Read the main NTMV5 thread on the forums.

If you saw that most of the cars will be updated by next season's start, please share the source because that'd be excellent news.

Really? There is far too much grip in most of the cars. The F1 car is consistently a few seconds faster than the courses lap records in real life. Along with the HPD having just a stupid amount of grip.

Not to mention the tires have 0-very little amount of change from new to 100 laps old.

I think it was the "what's in development" thread that I saw 7 cars were getting NTM v5 next build. Add that to the 3 or so that already have it and that's a decent amount. Maybe not most like I said, but it's a start. As for the grip thing Kamuifanboy, I find the Mclaren and Star Mazda have way less grip than previous seasons, though I haven't driven either car you mentioned. Doesn't the FW31 have NTMv5 already?

Edit: yeah, there is no tire degradation with most cars, which sucks. Hopefully that's in the new tire model.

I don't think they've mentioned tire wear being added yet to any car besides on their long list of to-dos, right now it's just tire heat and flex I believe

umm so my PC crashed when iracing was loading and now the graphics is on low regardless of what settings i choose. Anyone encountered this or is it reinstall time?

find and delete the render.ini or renderer.ini (it's one of those two names, can't remember which one) and then run iRacing again. Should reset graphics settings without you having to reinstall. If that doesn't work, yeah, full uninstall and reinstall.
