I don't login often enough because I lack content to bother to know, will there be a race for Continental tire and does it require a driver change?

There was a 'roar before the 24' event this past week, 2.4 hours of Daytona in the Mustang, Kia and MX5, driver changes were possible but not required,
The community is calling for this type of event leading to the major events, it was rather successful,

Didn't get the memo.

There is a sub forum in the iRacing forum for drivers looking for teams, have a gander and see whats still available,

I've seen a lot of Twitch streams on iRacing. iRacing is impressive for what it is. The level of competition and the realism seem impeccable. If I wasn't so cheap, I'd probably give iRacing a try myself. Maybe even establish a fairly modest career.

I am rather enjoying watching the Daytona 24 Hour iRacing event on Twitch. As of this post, 458 laps have been complete with about 10 hours and 50 minutes left in the race.

@JohnBM01 - Look for a free code (There are some on this forum) and give it a try! It's by far unlike anything I have played before. It isn't for everyone, but for those who like it, they love it. 100% recommend it. :) 👍

It was surely interesting watching the iRacing 24 Hour action from Daytona yesterday on Twitch. I enjoyed chatting as well as seeing the action as it unfolded. Great action all around, even including some of the more brutal wrecks and incidents.

600+ drivers racing at the same time in the Daytona 24 is quite impressive.

Our team was running 1st in our split, but we had a big crash exiting the bus stop, resulting in 30 mins of repairs.
2 driver stints later our engine blew, another 40 mins repairs.

That dropped us down to 26th and we spent the rest of the race getting back to 17th.

It was an awesome experience and I'm looking forward to future endurance races this year.

From iRacing's Facebook fan page, the iRacing team acknowledged some server issues late in the race. A few Facebook folks expressed their displeasure with these issues. It was still a great event and a real testament to race this deal for so long.

An event that ran earlier today was an iRacing Blancpain Endurance Series race at the Nürburgring. I didn't really follow it much since the most of the iRacing activity was with the 24 Hours of Daytona event. YouTube Gaming had a live stream of a Mazda Miata/MX-5 event at Bathurst.

From the Twitch stream I was following for Daytona, I heard of several other endurance events lined up for iRacing; including the likes of Sebring, Le Mans, and Petit Le Mans among others. I may have to check out those events in the future.

I enjoyed the whole Daytona experience in iRacing. I wouldn't want in on the action, as I'm mostly going to enjoy the spectator experience, much like I am with stuff like the different fantasy series here on GTPlanet.

server issues

No... really? (not to you, to the server issues and iRacing)

It's not like we experienced THREE PLUS server crashes (where nearly everybody DC'd) that ruined a lot of people's races...

Come on iRacing... when are you going to fix this?!

My team qualified 8th for Top Split and we finished 9th overall in the C7 DP which was pretty good for us! We got fairly badly affected by the server drop outs which hurt us a fair bit, but we had almost no dramas at all throughout the race which was our aim. Our car looked as straight as it did when we first started (minus the dirt!)

A few shots of our car, the top picture was at the end of the race and as you can see the car was in mint condition. Absolute credit to the guys in TTR to do 24 Hours with no accidents.

Bring on some more endurance races! They are great fun, hopefully there's no server drop outs in the next one though!

Incredible run! Well done!

I was mostly following the RevCom Gaming team during the 24-hour race at Daytona on Twitch. Mostly the #93 car. Great of you to finish so high in the ranks with Trans Tasman Racing.

Check out RaceSpot on YouTube, they broadcast most things iRacing,

I'm looking forward to Sebring, it will be my first endurance race over 3h on iracing,

Aside from the crash physics and the fact that you really can't save skids very well (normally ending in death wiggles)... it's not bad.

It really depends on your senses you get from sim racing, for some reason I usually don't feel a thing apart from the force feedback, and get no feeling of the rear end whatsoever, yet I've gotten quite good at drifting the BMW Z4 GT3 completely around the final corner of Sebring :D

For someone whom has never played iRacing before, you all are surely supportive and encouraging. One of the many reasons why I love coming here to GTPlanet. Thanks for the encouragement.

I've been getting understeer with ever car around there... feels like I'm steering a cruise ship... with ballast the weight of a large moon.

One of the staff said that it was a matter of one click to make Aero flips possible at Talladega and Daytona, but they decided it was best not to allow that to happen.

Dont need ballast, stiffen the front roll bar, move the brake bias back, and add some wedge, drive thant nose into the ground!

I finally saw a Twitch stream of someone racing the HPD prototype. So after seeing a lot of the Corvette Daytona Prototypes, I get to see a more proper prototype in iRacing. I am a bit surprised there aren't more open-top prototypes being raced from what I've seen. The only other open-top prototypes offered currently are the Radicals and the Spec Racer Ford. Maybe the Oreca prototypes used for Prototype Challenge should be offered as well.

On iRacing's website, I started seeing some of the live events on there. I saw one of those races with Mazda Miatas and Pontiac Solstices along with the RSR Ice Breacker Series at... Texas or Atlanta. Someone recommended me to look up RaceSpot. I Subscribed to that channel on YouTube, so thanks to the GTPlanteer for that recommendation.

The Spec racer and Radical seem to be more of a niche, the spec racer is slow yet extremely difficult to drive fast, the radical is easier to get along with but again it only has a small group of fans, there's quite a lot of cars like that within the game,
