One Twitch stream I saw offered up a unique experience- a VR one. This overly excited bloke from England who celebrated his birthday was playing iRacing with his VR gear mostly racing Zolder. It was interesting that you could do iRacing in VR. Actually, it wasn Oculus(?) Rift he was using. It just added to the realism when racing. I think I previously seen a VR-type video watching someone play Assetto Corsa, I believe, prior to seeing this Twitch stream.

Anyhow, it was interesting seeing iRacing with a VR headset.

They really ought to lift the multiclass restriction to somewhere in the 15 car range to include prototype, GT1, GTE, and GT3 all in one race. With the 5 car limit we won't be able to fit all of GT3 let alone any other classes on top of that.
Can't happen. The games underlying fundamentals are based on NASCAR 2003, which has a hard cap of 4 "manufactures."

It can happen, yes it will take some reworking, but now with support dropped for DX-9 its opened up a bunch of possibilities in the future,

It would require a completely new game to eclipse the 5 chassis limit.

Wow.... I just feel like I've been given a colonoscopy by Wolverine.... So much money dropped on this, I got frustrated that heat haze and waving flags came before day/ night transition, completion of Long Beach etc, but until 3.0 comes we're stuck? That sucks!

Even still though, regarding GT3, while there's several variants of these cars in the category all around the world, there's really only 6 main cars all around the world, the new Audi and Mercedes are here, but the Z4, McLaren and Ford are outdated, the Z4 needs updating to the M6, the McLaren needs updating to the 650s and the Ford should be updated to the Ferrari, but by the time we get anything new in this category I fear it will be borderline outdated,

So Porsche finally arrives proper to iRacing? This is going to be music to the ears of many an automotive and motorsports enthusiast. Music... like the music Porsches can provide. Great news after Electronic Arts' "over my dead body!" keepaway of Porsche.

On a different note, I saw someone on Twitch race a Nissan GTP-ZX around Mosport (Canadian Tire Motorsports Park). Good grief- that car is FAST! I almost felt like I was playing Gran Turismo 4 with the Nissan R92CP. Absolute BEAST.

It feels really really good guys. Makes sense since they actually used real life Porsche Cup drivers for Beta testing as apposed to Team Redline for everything else.

Agreed, its an absolute joy to drive, its good that we will finally have a proper stepping stone into the bigger GT cars, and with limited tuning it should have strong fields,

I am actually watching a Twitch stream right now with the Porsche being raced at Sebring. I think it's very cool seeing this marque in iRacing. It will be better when the Ferrari 488 GTE eventually gets into the lineup also.

Any feedback on the tires? According to Emptybox, etc. the GT3 is running a "new" version of the tire model that is much improved in regards to drive ability, etc. I would also be curious to hear @Christhedude thought's on the Porsche if he is still active...

I've read a lot about this car on the iracing forum, and no one can give a straight answer about the tires, I'd say its a nee tire model based on the cup series tire, where they're only allotted 6? Tires for a race weekend, they seem super durable with constant grip of you manage them right, I'm no where near the fast guys but in both a race and a full tank run in practice I can match my fastest lap of the session within the last handful of laps of the stint, in some cases I've bettered it every lap for the last 3 laps of a race if I'm chasing and possible for another position,

Well I just barely made the pro split in GT1 in the Pacific Majors 2.4 of Daytona today. 60 cars is a lot for a predator event.

Edit: I finished 29th not too bad for me, I kept the car fairly clean.

The more Twitch streams I see, the more I get to know about the game. A lot of what I've seen this weekend even includes seeing the McLaren -Honda MP4-30 Formula 1 car. I even got to see on YouTube the BSR race with the Kia Optima. Earlier today, I saw the Cadillac CTS-V being raced around Spa-Francorchamps at night. And right now, I'm seeing a stream of someone racing the Lotus 79 around the Phoenix oval.

I know I said I would join iRacing if I weren't cheap. But at the same time, iRacing is a serious deal. So my level of driving talent would be rather substandard against the majority of other drivers on iRacing. I just fear I won't be as competitive as I could be if I did iRacing. I kind of wouldn't mind to dust off my Driving Force Pro and give it a try if I could.

I do enjoy the iRacing experience and seeing others do their thing in iRacing to show in Twitch streams and YouTube videos.

Just do it, you're sucking yourself in to the point you won't let go of iRacing until you try it. You can try a 3 month subscription at 50% off. Also, keep in mind the twitch streams and YouTube broadcasts are usually some of the better racers. There are always people that will be within your skill level, so you should always have someone to compete with.

Hi all, i was wondering if anyone could do my a favour..there is a user in iRacing called "Chin" something and he sells HE Pedals/products in Australia. I was wondering if someone could look him up and let me know his contact details so I can buy HE pedals off him from Australia?

Thanks (I don't have access to iRacing forums, my account lapsed)

Give it a go, there is a wide range of abilities on iRacing from horrendously slow to super fast. As long as you can keep it on the road you'll have loads of fun - races are split so that you're competing with people of similar ability (presuming there are enough people racing, which for many series there are, particularly at rookie level).

Have sent you a message with an email address.

On YouTube yesterday, I saw a video of the Inside Sim Racing channel discussed some of the changes of the 2017 build of iRacing. After an eloquent introduction, most of it was on the grounds of saying it is a very good title with not much of new content but with improved current content. This is a fine game that can only get better. I'm sure the iRacing team will do a lot to try to keep up the great work. That is... unless people think re-scanning of tracks or something will help iRacing in its current state.

There were a couple of videos I've seen where iRacing players were raging against each other via voice chat. Chatting over bone-headed gamers is nothing new. It's just crazy what you can hear some people say after facing a wreck or something. One driver I saw a video of was leading just about the whole race... until one guy decides on the final lap to wreck the leader when the leader should have won the race. And yes- I'd be pretty upset too if some would-be sore loser tags me and forces me into a spin or a wreck. Nothing like having to deal with knuckleheads online.

This kind of stuff will land you a ban. If it's on purpose.
