If you're in a standard race (same cars), getting out of the way or backing off a little makes it MUCH easier for the leaders and is greatly appreciated by most. đź‘Ť

You say that because you are always one of the leaders in those cases

BTW good score yesterday. 1 week done, 7 left

I use it all the time. I use it to see if I am gaining on the car infront, to see if there are accidents on the track, to see if I should let the person behind go infront. Its incredibly useful.

This is what I use it for I only siwtch off of it to see how long is left in the race and to change how much fuel I want. Cauchy while I agree that it makes more sense to just glance over at the virtual mirror every now and then but in multiclass by the time I notice them in my mirror they're already all over me. I still use my virtual mirror to battle and such though.

Anyone tried the voice control pit chief using glovepie?

Really cool feature, was testing it yesterday and it just helps maintain focus on the driving while still checking the black box stuff.

Like, I literally hold a button and say "relative" and it brings up that box, likewise with "lap times" brings up lap timing. You can even bring up "fuel" and say "add 2 gallons" and voila. A must have add on in my opinion.

Thanks. 0 stopper last night didn't go as well as I hoped. But ah well, still a good solid round points wise.

And true true. :D

So apparently higher licenses don't necessarily mean better drivers. Did a MX-5 race last night, I was 2nd on the grid which is good because I have the inside on the first corner. I didn't have a good start though and 3rd was faster, but we were side by side at the first corner and he decided to take it like I wasn't there, throwing me off track. I returned at 8th but after a few laps I managed to get up to 4th again.

I was pretty much glued to the driver in 3rd through the end of the race but I couldn't get a clean opportunity to overtake him so I decided to stay behind. The driver in second, which was the one who threw me off at the first corner wasn't very fast and we catched up to him. At the last lap the driver in front of me forced a bit to overtake him and they collided, 2nd spun and we both passed him so I managed to finish in 3rd place.

IMO they both did very bad moves when trying to overtake so I thought they were rookies, turns out they were both Class B drivers. :ouch:

It pisses me off that some drivers don't care about hitting others, they think that because they got a little more speed out of a corner they can just keep going and the others have to get out of the way.

I've had a blast racing the MX-5 and Soltstice this week in Japan, but I'm just a measly D Class newb thats been into iRacing for a week or so. The racing has been super clean in the MX-5's, I've had more trouble avoiding spinning Spec Racers in my lovely Pontiac. The SRF's like to spin and take you out when you least expect it.

The safety rating is a nice tool to really make you think twice. I'm totally hooked on this sim.

Good stuff! It's that you on your avatar?
Where do you guys run at?(SpecMiata?) Sebring? I'd like to go to a race someday.

Thanks ;)
Video teaser will be up soon on the race.

Damn that was a crazy race, 99% of all LMP2 drivers disconnected :) including me as i was leading.
Never had such a ****** race from iRacing in my life. The track is damaged on so many levels.

EDIT: Still a WIP, but almost done.

Has anyone tried the new nvidia 280.26 drivers with iracing yet?

I'm currently on the 270.61 drivers. I tried the 280.19 beta drivers but they still stuttered like the 275.33 for me.

The NIXIM springs just came and I just finished installing them........think I put them in the right way lol (with the picture and everything I was confused a little about which one was the brake and which was the clutch).

I'll try them out soon and tell you guys how I like them.

Ok now I know why I was so confused. the picture shows reverse then what they say on the video (I had it like in the video then I changed it to what the picture showed), I am so damn lost.

Does anyone else have trouble with the auto login on iRacing using Firefox? I always get an auto login fail error when I open the website.

Conclusion on NIXIM 2 mod

I only ran 10 laps (storm came in so I shut the computer off).

-the clutch feels pretty good- like a heavy race/street clutch in a real car, took a few laps of missed shifts to get the feel of shifting fast again.

-the brake is really really stiff (almost too stiff), Your peddles deff need to be hard mounted with these springs. I have to learn heal-toe all over again now. and if you use a computer chair with your stand you will have to put something against the wheels, because every time I hit the brake hard I would move backwards.

all in all for the little amount of time I tried them I am happy and glad I bought them, I'll just have to do some more practice runs and get used to them.

http://glovepie.org/ Glovepie software, download it without emotive support.

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/7206.page

Download latest script build, open it in glovepie, click run, play iracing.

It has helped me so much as I dont have to reach over to the keyboard anymore.

Was the site hacked or something?
Seeing stuff like this makes me worried about downloading it.

That is my car but I haven't raced it in almost two years, money and time have been tight. I'm actually going to be racing at Sebring over Labor Day Weekend in a buddies car, you are more than welcome to come and check out what an SCCA weekend is like. PM me your name and I'll get you on the registration list so you can get in.

Cheers!

Sorry but I disagree. If you're faster you should be able to do a clean overtake, you don't simply ram into the car in front of you.

Anyway, I was just racing a hosted session a friend arranged, we did a destruction derby kind of race in Oxford Plains. We only had ten drivers but it was fun.

Link to the live broadcast by Xtreme Sim Gear last night. Top split SOF was 3819. Shane Van Gisbergen won, Myself 2nd and Mitchell McLeod 3rd. Definitely was a good fight all race long.

Figured i'd say the post out a bit nicer and easier to read. :)

I didn't mean 'ramming' into the car in-front was ok, but you have to use momentum when you have it otherwise you'll never get past. :)
