OR... Now here's an idea.. A Peugeot 207 CC, like the one in your avatar? A car which replaced the 206 CC - a vehicle whose byers were 88% female. Why not try to find statistics to back up your opinion rather than jumping to a predetermined conclusion that only exists in your head?

Personally the whoe yes/no girly debate is drivel anyway. Drive whatever you like, because the long and short of it is that nobody really cares.

As corrected, it's an RCZ. I wonder why you seem to be offended with what I wrote. Why should I provide statistics to backup my op? Even if 90% of men would buy this car because of thé testeron boost it would give them, I still would find it a girly car.

Now, The 307cc and 308cc are both cars that are driven mainly by women (as you stated for the 207cc) and elderly people. Still if I had the money I would buy one instantly.

People are mistaking a car girls happen to like for a "girl's car". Can't girls and boys like a car? What century are we in again?

Its not mistaking it. Its the cuteness of the car in standard form. But the NC is not cute at all. The NA has that cuteness. So people that feel Miata's are girly, associate the NA and the name "Miata"(without understanding what Miata actually means) with all Miatas as girly.

To the original poster (@Thomasss95), I don't find the MX-5 NC a girly car. Pretty neutral to me.

Why?

Because I don't get hung over what makes a car feminine or masculine. If I like the design, I like the design. If I like how it drives, I like how it drives. The point of the Miata is to enjoy the driving experience (even though I know zero people who owns one because... welcome to the South). If you overlook what it's purpose was to do, you missed the entire point of what the car was made for. Besides, all opinions on how it looks will vary (background, who they were around, etc), so it wouldn't be surprising that some might call it girly even if every single owner was male.

And how did homosexuality get thrown into the mix? One irrelevant characteristic of a person does not define someone's opinions on cars. I'm gay and I like old cars, new cars, convertibles, sedans, coupes, and estates. It doesn't mean it's the same for others. Stereotypes doesn't always apply to each person.

It was a somewhat reasonable question that escalated into a debate about woman, homosexual men, and cars.
Kinda, its basically over someone calling someone names online on GT6.

I mean, is that really a decent basis for this?

Indeed, that got me thinking
I wouldn't bother. I'm gonna guess they are young teenagers who, due to immaturity and naivety, hail TopGear as the best source of opinion on cars ever, rather than maybe gaining opinions from experience.

It's basically a worthless insult thrown around. I've been called a homosexual by said people because I was driving a Mazda Autozam online. It means nothing to me, and really shouldn't affect your buying choice one bit.

Because I want to buy one this summer in real life
That's fine, but I think the problem isn't if it would be too girly, but if you'd enjoy it. It's your choice and that Civic driver saying "pft. Girls car" is on their mum's insurance

Is it girly? Yes. Says the driver of a bright yellow MINI.

Does it matter if it is or isn't? No.

If you like it, you like it. If you don't then you don't like it. Other people's opinions shouldn't matter.

Same here. Yea the body may look a bit bland and thus 'girly' but that wouldn't stop me buying one. I judge cars based on performance and their mechanical ability. Doesn't get much better than a small convertible go-kart with huge aftermarket availability that you can use every day :D

Even if it was girly, what's wrong with that?
"girly" shouldn't be an insult.

It shouldn't. 'Boyish' isn't.

But, in comparison, (even though I would get a Miata in a flash if I could afford one - it looks so much fun) I would think the Miata is somewhat 'girlish' when compared with these ladies:

Then again, a whole bunch of cars are going to appear not merely girly but sheepish if pursued by these ladies. :)

I personally think the body style is really feminine looking but I can appreciate them for being cheap, rwd and good track performers.

Same with mini coopers, s2000's and fiats. They look feminine to me but I can appreciate their performance.

I just would probably never own one though.

Who cares if it's girly? You don't have to think that femininity is something negative.

I don't think it's particularly girly. There's certainly more feminine cars out there.

If the intresting and fun MX-5 NC is girly, then the dull and boring Lada 2105 is the manliest car ever made!

In other words, no.

Why would matter if someone considers a car "girly" (or, since trucks were brought up for some unknown reason, "to compensate")? People buy cars because they want them- nothing more, nothing less.

That... Doesn't explain the Wrangler. It's pretty much anything but "girly" in terms of appearance (at least in 90% of colors) yet both parties seem to love them.
My aunt owns one. She bought it to have something good in the snow, but lately she's been trying to persuade my uncle to allocate funds to lift it for off-road purposes and is also trying to talk my dad into not selling his CJ7 so she can wheel with another family member.
