Is Your Car in Gran Turismo, and Does Your Car Deserve to be in GT5?

I'm really surprised that they haven't included a 5.0 foxbody Mustang in a GT game yet. Extremely popular car here in the states, and it would make for a great cheap platform in the game. My car isn't common enough for me to think it'd be in GT (although I'd prefer it over a Mustang) but even if they just added an 87-93 Mustang, that'd be really awesome.

Haha I have both the fox body Mustang and the T-Bird Turbo Coupe in my wishlist! ;) I agree though, not to mention they need more 'Stangs in general.

A little update...

I have sold the Audi and Escort Cossie to fund a Chevy Nomad... 1956 model I think, very limited history on the car... So basically I'm back on the bus until I can afford the insurance and petrol, as I will be using it as a daily driver...

So now I.m more keen for a few Chevy Bel Air and Nomad models...

I think my Suzuki Sport XL7 Pikes Peak edition should be in GT5 because I am actually Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima irl

Dear Mr. Tajima,

We are interested in driving your Suzuki Sport XL7 (Pikes Peak edition) for an upcoming video game, but were unable to acquire one for our testing and simulation purposes. However, despite our driving skills that we have attained from attending multiple driving schools (thanks to our tremendous customer base) and the all-you-can eat buffet of Nissan Skyline GT-Rs that Nissan Motor Company sends us on a quarterly basis, we do not feel that a 981 horsepower automobile is within our limited capabilities at this time.

Although Suzuki Motor Corporation wishes for its car to be included along with various renditions of the Alto Works and a few concept cars that never saw production, we would like to include the Suzuki Sport XL7 (Pikes Peak edition). Regardless of whether we can drive this car in person or not, we are under obligation to include it.

Therefore, we shall simulate the car's behavior and performance by driving a standard Suzuki XL7 in 3rd gear from a rest, to prove its acceleration behavior. We shall attach rubber bands to the steering wheel and gas pedal while it is running, to simulate its handling. Lastly, we will strap a large JATO rocket booster to its roof to simulate the turbocharger lag and stubbornness of its ability to change direction, which we believe will prevent others from actually wanting to drive your car in a simulated environment.

We humbly await your reply.

Thank you,

Kazoonory Yahmahagoochee

The W126 chassis Mercedes-Benz 300 SD (my car) is a fullsize German sedan that gets over 25 miles-per-gallon and had decent(ish) for the day performance. So I'd say yes, it should be in GT5, but I'm obviously somewhat biased... ;)

But if my car doesn't get in, its predecessor, the W116 300 SD, most certainly should, as it was the first production passenger car equipped with a turbocharged diesel engine.

Who thinks that they own a car that should be in GT5? I'm not talking about a Civic with a high lift cam that puts out 20bhp more with some spinner rims, I'm talking something special? My brother owns an ex HKS tuned Toyota Chaser, putting out about 480bhp. Here's a link:

Be interested to see what else is out there?

Not for nothing, but your brothers chaser is far worse than the Civic you described, and that's difficult to achieve.

Most of the cars I've owned have been in the GT games. Right now I have a Mini Cooper S, which is already in GT5:P. :)

While I'd love to have my 1990 Subaru Legacy (Wagon :P) in GT5, I doubt others would share my feelings.

Z33 350Z "track" with the 03'-05' rays forged 6 spokers, "RS with option wheel" in GT4. Drives accurately in GT4/5P

Right now I have a M-B C280 1995.. Good car, reliable, etc.. but not worthy to be in GT5, its not a SPORTS version, or AMG..

Three of my cars were in GT4:

Peugeot 106 GTI

Opel Speedster 2.2

and

Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo 2+2.

None are in GT5 P, but my Speedster replacement is a supercharged Lotus Exige Cup and the Elise 111R tuned is pretty much the same car – to have the Exige in Krypton Green would be nice though:

(I somehow doubt that my Smart Brabus Xclusive Roadster-Coupé will make it to GT5, but I would have liked the Pug 106 still).
And the car on my wish list is already in GT5 P – the Nissan GT-R 👍

GT5 needs the new Fiat 500 and the Abarth model too. That would be awesome since we had the historic ones in GT4.

I'd have to say (and like every other GT before it), I hope that the R32 GTR is in it once again. I myself own a Godzilla with a few go fast bits which I have put on it to achieve what I believe to be a respectable 342 kw (457hp) at the wheels.

'95 Integra GSR Sedan. I know there have been numerous Type R's in past games, but it would always be sweet to drive your personal car. Then I could see (approximately) how fast it can go.

I have Toyota Yaris T-Sport, 2001 model. GT4 had Yaris RS, which is similar.

Does it deserve to be in GT, especially GT5? I'm not sure. Yaris (1st gen) surely deserves to be in the game, but do we really need 3 different models (F, RS, RS Turbo)? I'd say keep the RS Turbo and ditch the others. I don't actually care if my car is in the game or not.

My car does not deserve to be in GT but its faster twin brother does. That'd be the Volvo 240 Turbo. Mine is a GLT which means it has exactly the same trim, suspension, options etc as the Turbo.

The 240 Turbo was made from '81 to '85 and had a 2,1 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder engine with 155 HP and 240 NM. You could chose to add an intercooler as an extra option which then gave it 30 or so extra horsepowers. The GLT had a 2,3 litre N/A 4 cylinder engine with 136 HP and 190 NM.

My GLT (all stock except the rims and clear indicators and it's been lowered 2 cm):
