Is Your Car in Gran Turismo, and Does Your Car Deserve to be in GT5?

I have a 2002 Ford Focus 2.0 Ghia.

To be honest I would like the mk1 focus to be in the game, however I'm not fussed as to what version it is, ST170 would be nice as well as the mk1 RS.

Currently got a half built 1.3l Escort engined sports car in the garage (similar to a lotus 7), hopefully that will be finished over the summer.

And pretty much the same, means exactly to you? And nowhere did i say it would handle or accelerate the same!

Not quite. If you're saying "pretty much the same", that means that that what you're comparing are mostly similar, except with a few minor differences.

You wouldn't say that a Mustang GT and Shelby GT500 are "pretty much the same" just because they are both Mustangs and both have V8s. They are designed for different reasons, not to mention the Shelby is much more performance oriented than the GT.

Now, if you said that the Shelby GT500 and GT500KR are "pretty much the same", then it would make more sense because though they aren't exactly the same, they have enough in common.

Basically it all boils down to semantics.

damn steve that is one hell of a 993. my buddy has one that has about 600 bhp and does 3.2 0-60 runs. i have a viper and its fast but his 993 scares the crap out of me :P

I laughed when i saw my grandfathers old datsun 910 bluebird in gt4 that car is slow . But it was pretty cool to see my freind"s cars in gt4 as well like the mazda protege', mitsubishi gsr lancer 1800, nissan 280z and the nissan primera. I would like to see my car in gt5 although its kind of old my nissan fb 13 sentra/sunny. I would also like to see some old/vintage cars like the ford mkII escort, ford cortina, datsun 120y, datsun 1600 etc...

Yeah its like they just wacked on some chintzy soundtrack of exhausts and stuck on random car!

er...no it isn't. Big Dani's focus may sound different as it might not be the ST version, which would then mean it doesn't have the 2.5L Straight 5...but the Straight 4 instead. A totally different sound comes form a 5 cylander than a 4.

The focus ST sound does sound like the exact thing. My dad has a friend who has one and I rode in it once and it sounded like it is in the game. I drive a Volvo 850 which has the same engine block as the ST (the 2.5L straight 5) and the similarities are uncanny. Sure, they aren't going to sound identical because of exhaust systems and what not...but you can see definate similarties.

I think a stock civic of any year.. EX model would be awesome.. it would show people how much slower those cars are than all the other cars... also, i am sure more people own that car than the other cars in the game

Mondeo! All the way! Especially the underpowered 1.8 litre!

Well, Gran Turismo certainly contains the weird as well as the wonderful from time to time. If you're going to suggest the Ford Mondeo, I'm going to suggest my mum's Nissan Almera Tino  :dopey: :dunce:

i would like my car to be in gt5.. its a ford escort cosworth.. 4x4
it has only 208 hp stock.. i have had some parts changed so it has some what around 300+ depend on the turbo presure

a 1992 Audi RS2 avant would be nice too

I hate how we get stuck with the ugly Focus while you guys get the awsome looking version.

They have to have more Commodores in GT5! :)

Aint it the truth! I'd rather see a HK or HT Monaro GTS before we get extra Commodores though.

All i can say is bloody volvo driver!!!

I think the Focus ST (XR5 as it is in Australia), sounds a lot beefier in real life from the cockpit than it does in the game. They're characteristically close enough though.👍

It also depends on your audio setup you are using for the game.
Every car in GT5P sounds to "thin" though, but the sound characteristics are very similar.

AH HAA HAA HAAAA...what do you drive?...and if I put "bloody" in front of it, will it be as effective?.......it was bound to pop up somewhere:ouch:

Anyway, I can't be a proper Volvo driver, as I'm on my "L"s and I can't afford the wave of infractions my da...I mean...er...any other Volvo driver gets.

Plus, it's better than driving a Hyundai Elantra that I drove while taking a lesson. The clutch was too vague and way too linear in compression. The 'box was weird too. The guy said I was putting the clutch in too early before a junction....we were doing 20kmph...in 4th. My car probably wouldn't do that in 2nd...but that's the way I like it. My Volvo's just such a satisfying car to drive - and I don't care what people say. And if you extend your shift through the gears, it make a great noise. It's burned off a few tricked out alfas in it's time too.

What I'm trying to say is....don't put the Hyundai Elantra in the game :sly:

Big Dani: It's a nice car...good choice...and with everyday driving, yes it sounds quite different from a Volvo as the 850 and first gen V70 have that distictive monotone sound (Mid to high revs, the tone splits:)). But high to mid revs, the similarities between mine and yours are quite high (IMO). I have to turn the volume quite loud on the TV to properly hear the ST because at first, it seams different - but on GT5P, there are similarities.

i drive a 02 Eclipse... it was in GT4 (Spyder GTS). I also have had a 91 Celica, 95 Civic, and a 95 Firebird, which the Celica and Civic have been in the series as well... but the Firebird would be a nice addition ( TRans AM)

I drive a nissan 240sx. its in the game and damn well deserves to be in the GT series, so much history with the nissan silvia
