It's now March; where is our promised community update?

Guys, can we keep making the effort to make our posts relevant, civil and (mostly) Forza free please. This topic has had a good innings so far and it would be a shame to end on a sour note. I'd like it to keep running as it has been until an update arrives so we can celebrate.

Or until GT7 arrives so we can storm the gates at PD with pitch forks and burning torches.

Or PD go bust so we can turn to drink (or other driving games)

Ok, I get that the community features are WAY overdue by now…

…But it's still February.

We can let the apocalypse resume on March 1st.

Like I said earlier to a different GTP member, I don't think until the deadline counts. I'm still going to expect for now on that PD will always bring worst case scenarios until they learn what they truly need to find out what needs fixed internally. Unless there are enough people that show this much distrust to them, I genuinely think nothing will ever change and we will always see the same old slackers and quite Japanese men behind their desks..

I probably shouldn't, but does anybody else find it absolutely hilarious that after 32 pages of this thread of frustration with the lack of content, PD's "scheduled maintenance" last night actually removed old content rather than adding any new stuff?

Does Japan celebrate an "Opposite Day" that I'm not aware of? February Fool's or something?

(The logical side of my brain suspects that they need to clear out server space for a soon to launch update. The impish side of my brain is imagining Kazunori Yamauchi sitting behind a giant desk in some darkened office, sticking his tongue out at his frustrated fans.)

What content did it remove?

What content did it remove?

They pulled out some of the older seasonals from like months ago. It wasn't anything major, and based on the engagement of people here on this thread with the game, I'm presuming we'd all done them by now.

They expired, so they were removed.

On Thursday the 27th Feb we should get a new set of seasonal events. Holding thumbs that PD give us the promised update with the new track as well.
Would be a great track for a new time trial :-)

No twisting words needed. And you seem to fail to understand that I'm suggestion we take it a step further up, way up, then posting some stuff on a forum. Shuhei Yoshida is THE person to talk to since he is the only one with any social media available for communicating and has a connection to the franchise. That, plus you know...he is pretty much top dog in Sony World Wide studio game development, which I already stated. Where are you getting this facebook crap from, I never suggested anything like that. Twitter is a direct link to a person, in this case an executive who actually responds to fan feedback even though it's not always kisses and roses.

I just realized...we are taking part in a huge discussion and it's so tense and filled with emotions. Oh Kaz, you clever devil! We never expected it would be that this is the human drama he was talking about!

I still don't see why they need to expire seasonals. Lock off the leaderboards if they must, although that smacks a bit of being tight with server time as well. But at least leave the seasonals up until there's a decent collection of them. Plenty of time to start pruning them when there's 10, or 12, or 20. All it does is make the game more attractive to new buyers. Few people complain about having more events, and more choice.

Makes me wonder how useless GT5 will be when they (almost certainly) inevitably just shut the online off rather than put any effort into maintaining the benefits to playability that come from connecting to the online servers.

You know they already set a date for that right?

So then you must understand me too. I said i understand what you mean, the potential for good criticism directly reaching them is there. Look around read some of these pages, just imagine how bad it could end up and then my first post about Facebook. Also this Facebook stuff is not made up, many of the Gran Turismo posts by the game developers, or there Facebook people, on Facebook are riddled with some vicious attacks. Just because it's twitter is it going to be different? Your failing to understand just because people are on twitter, there not going to become great people trying to communicate with them. One last time i UNDERSTAND what you mean and it could work. But if you look at some of the context clues, This forum for instance, what would be the point, after a few weeks of constant attacks he would stop replying. It will turn into a mess. So while it can work, it is much more likely to not work. I don't get why you don't understand this, i AGREE with you, but it won't work because we are not perfect people. If you are right about him being higher up, then you must understand he see's this, he's not going to suddenly start replying because he is getting harassed on twitter. If you don't get what i am saying email me if your are confused fareeljalit1@gmail.com. Lets both agree to stop on this difference of opinion on this forum. Cheers mate we are friends, no hard feelings and we all just want the same good game man.

Right, so the point is, when they flip that switch, will they patch the holes in the game, or just leave it clasping at the ether impotently?
I'm confused exactly as to what this "trnasfer" is we are expecting... Is it a patch, or is it an update, or is DLC?

No ocd, so it'll be awful again. :(

The least they could do is a final patch to make the key playability stuff available offline.

I agree... I think they should leave any seasonal that gave you the opportunity to win a car. To me, it's not fair for the first people who got the game to have 7 free cars, while everyone after (date) has to spend 500k credits on the same car. Hell, you could win the M4 twice...
