The "Geneva motor show 2014" is around the corner (kicking off on March 6), so we can expect at least some news soon... Does not mean there's something to play soon, either.

Did 1.05 come out yet?
If it did there'd be a gif and 5 pages of people typing in allcaps so no, not yet.
This is probably the most accurate post on this entire thread.
NA
4 pages of crap. 3/4 of a page complaining about the crap. 1/4 of a page moderators telling everyone to cut the crap.
There's half a page of chat crap, right there. I'm going to start handing out warnings for breathing too loud soon.

Edit: I could, in fact, delete the last two pages from this thread and we wouldn't have lost anything.

Last chance and then I'm closing this.

Couple of quick things I would hope to be included in the next update:

1) More Events, not TT's, proper events to race against other cars.
2) Add the Performance Difference Adjustment Bonus to the A-Spec mode, would make it so much more interesting.

Not going to complain today, those couple of things would make the game much more playable to me. I'm fed up with grinding the Red Bull event as it doesn't count your stats right, plus am really bored of that anyway.

I really do not feel like skimming 55 pages of posts, so Where did we get promised a February update? I guess I'd like to read it myself before I make to much of a comment.

Just skim the news page instead - you'll find the answer much quicker there.

I agree with you on both these points, but most people will still complain about 1 because the bad excuse for AI.

Love that show, been watching it through again recently.

Thx.

I'm going to give PD the benefit of the doubt here. maybe there is something that is keeping us from getting the update, like a major bug that would cause your PS3 to blow up. I'm going to wait and see what they are bringing to the party before I bring out the hammer and the nails.

thats why there is 2. , by having the Performance Difference Adjustment you'll get more credits + its more challenging & fun so that bad AI would be competitive thanks to their better cars

That's why I'm in agreement, because your effort gets rewarded.

But I guess people will still complain.

I'm not complaining about people complaining because people aren't complaining about it yet.

That being the case, there is nothing stopping them from communicating this to their fan-base. They don't communicate, however. Our reward for allegiance is silence, which is interpreted, rightly or wrongly, as a form of contempt.

I don't know, clearly the game has issues and clearly there pipeline isn't the best...

Clearly GT6 was rushed out quicker than any GT game I can remember following gt5 and I have a feeling this is down to Sony not wanting to keep promising people a game that dsnt come out (gt5).

So I think you have to cut them some slack because like it or not these things take time, bug fixing is a nightmare and I can only imagine how hard it must be for them to do, ontop of everything else Kaz promised.

You bought the game as it was sold, not on some vague promise. That said I wish they would focus on fixing the online problems and brining the online physics models into the offline mode so there is more parity across the game.

True, but even with the AI problem GT5 managed to have some pretty great Seasonal Event races in it's time, not often but some.

No it wasn't vague, it was bright and loud and quite specific in its bold statements about monthly updates and feature rich temptations. If they had been specific about its developmental state, I would've waited. I have a small amount of faith left at this point that they will redress the balance but that faith is based on past endeavours and I can't help but worry that this current impasse could indicate bigger problems.

It certainly gave them more playability, which if it was implemented into GT6 Career mode would do the same.

It's not really a fix for the bad AI, but it would allow people to get more enjoyment out of the the Career mode because it would reward them for doing what's not difficult. Simply getting a trophy for winning a race 100PP under the competition isn't a reward when what most people are playing for is the cars, not the trophies.

Would you rather have been forced to wait until the game was finished instead of being released as it was?

I'd rather have GT6 as it is than still have to play GT5 waiting on a complete package.

The only option if GT6 hadn't been released unfinished would have been massive delays like GT5 had, and people would be complaining even more. I'm glad I bought GT6 on pre-order because I got to play it for three months whilst waiting on features that would just add to that experience - features I wasn't a huge fan of in GT5 - and that was three months not playing GTA V or GT5 which bored the hell out of me after I played them to death.

1st January for RB events wasn't a mistake imho. Now the February track wasn't released in February. Also Kaz said course creator was almost ready. Everything seems to be slipping - maybe some programming walls ? Does that even happen ?

I don't see it as such gloom, from what I can tell Kaz did a 'molyneux' and promised a bunch of stuff for his game before it was even close to finished, which was compounded by the fact that Sony wanted it out really quickly (for a GT game).

Yeah there's no doubt that if Kaz got his way we'd be playing GT6 in 2015. I have no doubt in my mind that Sony were the ones who pushed for the Dec '13 release.

I think we can say that it's the programming that brings PD trouble, especially now that there have been sightings of hacking. I believe that now PD not only has to focus on the new content itslef and bug fixing, but also on ways to prevent people from hacking.

I'm not gloom-mongering, I'm concerned. Justifiable concern given the time-frame and the low sales of GT6 thus far.

In all honesty, yes. Aside from that being my general expectation when it comes to GT release dates :sly:, GT5 was also 'in a good place' and all the GT6 release did was create false hope and thus damaged the series' reputation more than the GT5 release did. I fear for how strong that reputation will be in the coming months as they hopefully develop GT6 to its full potential and even more so for what will happen when we switch to the PS4.

They can't even release the premium cars with proper sounds lol let alone all of them.

Yeah tbh I have a feeling that gt6 only exists because of Sony mandating they put out another game using the gt5 engine they paid for on the ps3.

I have a feeling that gt6 started out as gt6 prologue and simply got beefed up to a full sized game after development had started, hence why so much is missing that was in gt5... The date was set by Sony and PD unable and not used to working within a tight time fell behind and they are trying to catch up with content patches, which then only hinders there ability to patch bugs

That is my biggest fear. For a long time there was only GT at the forefront of the racing game genre, then Forza came along on the Xbox. Now that the PS4 is here with games like Project Cars on the horizon which I heard will be dual platform, Gran Turismo will struggle to compete on their own console. If it means we see both T10 and PD stepping up with FM5 (6) and GT7 then that can only be a good thing for all gamers.

Time is not the problem, they had 5 years to get gt5 right and still couldn't.

And another three years of updates which still didn't make it the game it should've been. I know time is not the problem, overstretching to meet deadlines is the problem and leaves many millions of GT fans unhappy.

I don't know about that, I think that if Sony marketing got behind a proper next gen GT game it would do just fine.
People who don't like racing games or don't play racing games, but have a playstation tend to buy the first GT game put out on that system because it gets amazing reviews and looks fantastic etc...

But I guess time will tell... And who knows competition might actually bring the best out of PD!

So I've been trying to get a response out of the Gran Turismo Facebook page, and lo-&-behold, not a peep from them.

Tried to post a message (a calm and reasonable one) to their page, "Sorry, your message could not be posted at this time. Please try again later."

:odd::irked::grumpy: (part of my inner-conspirator is thinking "they are blocking all negativity/communication" :banghead:"

So I decided to just message them directly, which did "work", I linked back to this thread and simply asked for any word on the matter of missed deadlines, missing content, etc. I just did it like 5 mins ago, so no response yet (if one will even come).

But if I do get a response, I'll be sure to share it here 👍

Let´s put everything in context, a game sold for 60 whatever currency at launch day.

One can argue if the game on its current form worths 60, once said this I have driven more than 10.000 km so far (I wish I had more time to play though). That means quite a lot of hours, so is it 60 well spent? so far yes, for example I paid 15 for Last of us DLC, a very short DLC which in contrast adds to the story and is great value. So money alone the game could pass the exam.

BUT and there are a big number of "buts", the game was announced whith a lot of features still not present today, too many bugs for online racing, huge and frustrating connection issues which could well be a game breaker for many and moreover the absolutely lack of any sort of communication from Poliphony Digital or Sony about future updates or bug fixes makes the customer to feel very upset as I am right now.

Problem is that the game is sold right now for almost half price from launch day, so what happened for those like me who paid full price and still are waiting for that complete game?

This is I think where the problem is, the lack of confidence I have right now for Gran Turismo franchise and it makes me really sad. Apart from that it is just a game so I will not make any drama out of this.

Just sharing my thoughts.

This exactly how I feel about it, last I checked I have 60 hours of track time in the game so that is only $1 an hour and I have plenty more that I want to do. I do feel though, that we are owed, at the minimum, the features that are listed on the box, websites and sales literature.
