I'm really sorry man, all 15 of the US spots are taken as of about 10 minutes ago. Is there no way you can make the UK time? (They're GMT by the way)

Hm. If I'm correct 20:00GMT is 4 EST, which would be too early. Is there a way I could act as a reserve driver if someone doesn't show? I wouldn't really care about points, just to compete. If not it's fine, thanks.

Yep, no worries I'll put you down as a reserve and me or somebody else will let you know if you're needed on race day 👍 If somebody doesn't show at all, which is always a possibility, I'll promote you to a full time position.

Ok thankyou

Phew, very tired. But a full US roster and race day on Wednesday, how exciting  Night gents.

My personal experience with online racing is that at every race someone will eventually miss: there is also something unforeseen that makes it impossible for a driver to participate. I understand it is a bit awkward to have more drivers signed up than racing spots but I am pretty certain that, in case we had 16 drivers and 15 spots no one would ever stay outside a race.

Still, it's a risky bet, and in case everyone shows up we must ask the last signed racer to abdicate from his spot at the starting grid. The series manager shall have the best decision on this matter.

It just feels good to see this many racers looking for a grid spot in this series.

Regards,

Yes they are controllable, it has surprisingly little effect on cornering, try it yourself.

And yeah that's what I thought mate, somebody's bound to miss a race or two at least.

I've Pm'ed a couple of candidates, hoping for a response Well we already have one totally awesome and willing Pace driver, just one more to find!

Yea I am pretty awesome :D
Looking forward to the pre season 👍 (if there is room)

You should be ok mate, as the majority of our US drivers won't be able to make it anyway. I'm expecting maybe just over a half grid :P

EDIT: And my new mic has finally arrived, so I should actually be able to communicate with you guys tomorrow..for once 👍

That was pretty fun, especially the NASCAR. Apart from Joe's magical ability to pass everybody going into the final corner and win the race by 0.01 of a second....twice

I let him win!

There's a reason people called me "the freight train" back in SCANA. :sly:

I let you win!

I've got visions of you overtaking the entire pack on the last lap of the Daytona Championship race haha

I'm going to win!

Tom, you still have 25 October in the title thread, you need to change this to 26 October.

On another note, and in a dramatic turn of events, RFLX_Niop has agreed to join Team Penske as a reserve driver in the US series.

In respect of Niop's credentials, none are better in US style driving. He is currently Season 1 NASCAR Champ, Season 1 IROC Champ, Season 1 reserve driver to bring the NASCAR Truck Series to DropTop. Niop is looking forward to further completing his CV in US racing series by looking to take down the IZOD IndyCar Season 1 also.

This is a welcome addition to Team Penske which also holds both myself and Championship favourite DrifterJoe. Welcome Niop. 👍 👍 👍

Sorry mate, I've changed it now 👍 Welcome Niop, I'll add you as a reserve right now. Can I also ask some questions about the US series, I've had slightly less to do with it and am quite confused. These are mostly aimed at LV I suppose :)

Who's lounge are the races to be held in?
Does anybody know someone who can be their Safety Car Driver?

And finally LV, you'll have to inform the reserve drivers if they're needed on the day of the race.

EDIT: We really, really, really do need at least a couple more UK drivers. PM anybody you think may be interested!

Morning! I'm gonna have to put you down as a reserve for the US series as we already have 17 drivers vying for 15 grid spots. If there's no way you can make the UK time, this is the only way, sorry mate 👎

Knew this would kick in nearer the time.

Real shame though that we are not getting enough in the UK series, but I suppose it is a US event!

LV, we need to know about hosting etc for your side of things. You have a full room with reserves, and we can't let these guys down. 👍

I've done a bit of plugging elsewhere, just gotta hope!

And the numbers aren't my main concern at the moment anyway. My main concern is like you said, what's happening with the US series, LV needs to know that he's got 18 guys ready to race, 15 grid spots but we don't even know who's hosting yet 👍

Ahhhhhhh! I went to bed feeling not very well last night and it seems I have a cold or something...might have to miss tonight. Sorry, I'll be able to make the next ones.

No worries, it's only pre-season. Get well soon :)

It's tomorrow anyway.

Anybody up for some mixed racing tonight? Maybe some Indy on the ovals, Nascar, whatever? :)

I will have to have someone reliable host the rooms with the correct settings, laps, etc. Im still not certain I will have a connection by the season opener. It all depends on if my roommates can come up with the money to split the router as its $180 to be able to reach the 300ft with a strong signal.

IndyCar Press Release

The start of the US series has been delayed by one week, meaning the first race at Circuito de Madrid has been rescheduled for the 8th of November. Also the new Oval qualifying rules have been added to the OP, please take a read.

And on another note, we need a backup host for the US series, just in case LV cannot host, any volunteers?

Hahaa  Is your internet wired or wireless? Normally it's better to be wired but my wireless is pretty good to host.
