I guess that is a mistake in judgement on my part. I expected their off-roader to have a more durable looking interior at least. This looks like it's all cheap plastics.

DO you REALLY Expect a Interior that can be Washed with a Water hose to look like a G Wagon?? seriously

Wow and the Wrangler looks better by comparison.
No it doesn't. A G-Wagon is pretty plain inside, but it's (fittingly) plain inside in the same way this this looks plain inside:

The Wrangler looks (and feels) plain inside for the same reason a Charger from ten years ago does:

Because the entire interior is made out of 3 large pieces of plastic.

I was stuck behind a bog-standard Grand Cherokee for several miles today (it was filled with horsey wobbly-heads), the back really does look very Ssang-Yong :(

Are you sure it wasn't the Cherokee? The Grand Cherokee isn't the prettiest thing but it's mainly due to being bland rather than being outlandish, whereas the Cherokee looks like a dog's breakfast.

Didn't they already do this with this Grand Cherokee platform like 3 or 4 years ago?

Back in 2013, yeah. Mostly consisted of stickers, red tow hooks, more aggressive rubber, and darker colored wheels. Not much substance over many of the other models, and it looks like it'll be the same case for the 2017 model. Not that it is a bad think, the GC is still plenty capable, but part of me certainly wishes that the Trailhawk model would carry some more junk compared to the other Trailhawks available today.

Can someone tell Dodge's media department to tone down the post-process HDR? It looks like they got an intern to learn the ropes in Photoshop.

Regular Car Reviews has mentioned sometimes off hand and other times quite blatantly that modern day Chrysler has lost it's way from the Iaccoca days.

I mean, for us enthusiasts, it means some wild ****, but I think I finally see what he is talking about, and this is coming from a guy living in a pretty deep Chrysler family, having owned 5 FCA vehicles in the past number years.
