thanks guys! yeah the hoods on that shot were a bit overdone. i guess that's me being a bit careless right there. i've had the shot for almost two months now, even before i got photoshop.i can't wait to get another USB pen and shoot some fresh ones. Here's the Part II of my Acura CL 3.2 update. this one however is more of an experiment. I tried to blur out the building on the background and it looked like water color painting. so i decided to add some effects, i dont know....it looks a bit over done to me. :( but i think the car looks good, i also added some other pics to go wit this update. so enjoy everyone.

On the 2-car shots, I think they complement each other.
The 1st I like the background, the way the trees look so real, sharp against the diffuse farther moutains, while on the 2nd, what really stands out are both cars, specially the (orange :) ) Integra. Good work on the tones of this shot, only the trees could have ben a bit desaturated, but no biggie.

The Acura Part 2 looks good, it's great the way you got the sun light hitting the car, but the buildings are a bit overdone, imo. They would look better if the ones down the street were a bit blurred.

The Subaru has a good angle and composition, but it's a bit dark.
Finally, the Integra. Car itself looks quite realistic, and again good job on the lighting, very natural look.
I don't like those rims very much on that car though, but I've seem far worse.

Keep updating!

Nice shots, my favourite is the Subaru. Very nice and clean and cool angle. Don't know about the lighting/contrast. The blacks don't look fully black.
On the Acura, the car looks nice but the buildings just look weird imo. You should do a blur on the bg and then use a layer mask with a gradient, works really well. PM me if you don't know what I am on about. :D
The Integra is very cool, great colour and I like the shine on the car.
Good update, keep it up buddy. 👍

I really like the background in the Spoon & 270R shot Adrian 👍

However, I've been tracking down your latest updates and they have one thing in common which you are missing: sharpness. I don't know why but the cars are so blurred :indiff: What is the size of brush you use when you smudge? I recommend choosing the area you are going to clean with the polyg. lasso tool and smudge it, don't pick a brush size too big, I rarely go above "15"...

The Subaru and acura shots are looking great. I like the reflections on the subaru shots, and how the color is very subtle and smooth throughout the shots. The acura shot really matches the environment, Ive never been able to get a good shot out of that photomode location.

thanks for the comment too

thanks so much for the comments guys :D really appreciate it, and noobie4ever, just practice and practice man, you'll get it someday. we all need to start from somewhere right ? :)

here's a quick one....

i didn't do much to this photo, just like brightness and contrast, and just got rid of some minor jagged edges, and played around with the tone and saturation and stuff. hope u guys like it.

Nice update jgda9rs, also I would have to say the same thing about practice as well, because if you look at either my shots in my gallery or jgda9rs's shots in here, your see it takes a while to get into the groove to produce great pieces.

Now that is one of my favorite shots from you. It has a real nice race feel to it, and I like the exxagerated light coming from through the trees. I sure hope you bring us more.

thanks people! and happy april fool's day!!!! fooled you all with the title did i ? :D come on, it's april 1st. you all know what that means

Whoa, loving that shot. One of your best. Sweet capture of the racing action, the S2000 looks great. Also love the colour and lighting. Bring more of this. 👍

Woohoo! Great shot jdga. I love the angle in this one. The small changes you did made the picture really stand out. The saturation is good and also the tones are great. One of your best! 👍

Gotta love your shots mate!! The Acura is simply "delicious", real good IMO.
The Impreza and TypeR shots are cool, the capture is nice, and so are the colors.
Now about this last update, amazing action shot!! That S2000 is going real fast, love it mate:)
Always a pleasure coming here, so update soon:tup:

Very nice shot, J.
I really like what you did to the tones, makes it look as if you're under the shade of those trees, has a really good ambiance.
The fact that you had the light spots showing between the leafs really bright also add to this 'shade' effect.
Nice angle and composition too.

thanks everyone!! glad you guys liked it :)

Drift2XS: thanks!! means a lot to me for u to say it's one of my best, i'll try and get a new ipod or a usb stick, whichever comes first, soon. i lost mine a couple of weeks ago. but thanks for the comment. always a pleasure having u here.

freddy: thank you too! i actually have another version of this shot, similar angle, but i did so much to it, it didnt really look good. glad u liked it :) cheers!

NTX1982: it's always a pleasure having u here just the same :) thanks mate! and yes, the s2000 and the rest of the cars were really going fast.
i was driving the civic, and i couldnt keep with them on the straights. wish i could show u the replay :) but thanks for the comments though.

Beerzgood: glad u were able to see what i was getting to :) cheers!

Now on to my next update. these photos here are from my early days in gtp, all the way back to page one, back when i didn't have a clue or had an editting program. i just wanted to commemorate my gallery, almost reaching its first year in june, and how things have changed since i've joined gtp. hope you guys like them.

TRD Drift Remix

these drift photos i added some smoke effect, i hope PD works on this effect when gt5 becomes available. anyways, on the smoke effect, i applied pretty much similar steps as to doing a rain effect, except with minimal to no noise at all, and the motion blur isn't at all visible. on the 1st photo, i did it very subtle, you can't even see it. but if u look at the original, you could tell the difference. on the 2nd and third pic, i applied the smoke effect, and then applied a little bit of motion blur, otherwise the effect would just look like a big white stamp. i think it just completes the whole action shot. this is my first time doing it, so take it easy hehehehe :D hope you guys like it though. comments are very welcome.

Did you try out my previous methods with dodge and blur on that first one? It looks really clean, especially the bonnet 👍 But I'd make that line more like an oval; The reflection starts at the left from up and then goes down to the right, right? I'd make a single oval line to connect these two points, the way you did it is very nice but it looks rather artistic then realistic, but then again, maybe it was your intention to do it like this? The line on the side of the car is very well done, I don't know of you've dodged it, but it looks very neat 👍 But then that line on the wheel fenders look akward :odd: I guess you applied a little bit too much...But at least it doesn't look as blurred as your previous updates so you're making some great progress 👍

i did in fact try it. your techniques were all i had in my mind on that one, but i was wondering how i would make it more real, but now i know hehehehe.
and the fenders, yeah. i think i overcooked that a little bit. now they look like there's a neon cord in there or it's glowing white hot hahahaha. and the line on the side of the car, yes i did dodge it :D that was the very first thing i did
after the hood. i'll keep your tips in mind though. i think it's been working out great for me. just need to practice more :) but i'm glad u think i'm making progress. i'll be doing more experiments with different shots as soon as i get a new usb stick. but thanks so much for the tips :)

Nice work.
1st shot looks really clean, all very well done, only the roofline seems a bit bent out of shape. I also like the way you made the car stand out, despite it's almost the same color as the background. 👍

on the 2nd it almost looks as if you used a soft focus filter, is it?
The blur isn't exagerated, so I like it. Of course it would look better with a curve blur, but we can't have everything. :) Besides, how the hell do I do a curve blur with CS2?!
Good job on the soft tones, too.

3rd is my least favorite. I think it's because of the brightness (too much, perhaps?) of the smoke, compared to almost total darkness of the upper part of the shot, but can't really tell.

Good job overall. 👍

 I like the hippy Acura in S.F., it's different

Special mention to the 2nd Chaser, I don't like that car, but the pic is really really well done, the blur is perfect for the action. Well done.

As some of you may already know, i lost my ipod about 3 weeks ago, and so i have no way of transferring files from my ps2 to my pc. i tried my POS Scan Disk USB stick and it would not work, i think it's dead, or it got me thinking that some of them don't work for the ps2 at all. what brand do u guys use?
let me know. i need to take fresh shots, specially if i go thru the photomode tournament. any advice would be greatly appreciated. give me the brand names and whatever that you guys use, and hopefully i'll be able to find one here in canada. many thanks again!!!

That sucks, J.
I used to have a Pretec, now using a Swissmemory.
But your problem may probably be that yours is dead, since I believe ANY usb stick is meant to work. After all, it's just a usb port...

Can you borrow another one from a friend or something, just to test? Have you tried the other port?

This is what I use.

It's a 40Gig laptop hardrive in a USB case, works great. USB 2.0 as well, so very fast on the PC. :D

Sorry, I know that doesn't really help you out. Check out the thread that Vince linked to. 👍

whatever that thing is drift, it looks a lot like a voltage stabilizer for cars! or an HID ballast for cars  thanks so much for helping me out with my problem. i finally got a Kingston USB Flash drive 2.0, and has 1GB of storage capacity. best of all, it works! so first thing i did after i got it was, obviously test it out, and i decided to snap shots of my mugen s2000. i'm using this shot as a compentry, but i'm also gonna post the cleaned up version of it. just for reference. hope you guys like it.
